Same excuses as other threads (Late etc....) But here goes

Mens Singles:

Taufik Vs Gade

Taufik more attacking than against smith but still conserative. The game never really got going as gade is just off the pace. Taufik put some smashes in this match though. Gade had no answers..

Lin Vs Persson

An annihilation by LD. Too fast too accurate and persson is too slow and cumbersome.

Chen Jin Vs Sasaki

Chen Jins injuries are a worry in the long term. He is getting a catalogue of them and it is due to his game style. Being less skilly than others he simply turns every tough game into a physical slug match.... Clearly hampered and limping in the third end he squeezed through despite Sasaki looking the stronger for the most part.

LCW Vs Ville Lang

LCW seems incapable of taking the initiative. he went 7-2 down in the first game simply because he just goes with the opponents flow. He payed to Ville's slow pace. Ville was helped by Sony's withdrawal but whilst LD crushed an inferior opponent LCW seemed too timid to crush Ville who is comparatively far weaker than persson.

Womens Singles:

Tine Vs Yip

Tine is too strong for Yip. Despite the 10+ points she gives away each and every game Yip didn't have the ability to push the pace thus Tine could just dictate and put the shuttle where she wants.

JYJ Vs Lu Lan

Lu Lan should be a strong player she has good strokes & a strong looking body, but she seems not to be able to cover the court despite her size and apparent strength. JYJ looks diminutive but packs a consistent punch if unstartling strokeplay.

WYH Vs XXF

Is XXF injured or just not bothered? She was as lifeless as WYH is hungry. No contest and is disspointing to see such a talent put in such a display.

Mens Doubles:

JR/LP Vs Cai/Fu

JR/LP were awesome against JPN the previous day I I thought they would walk through Cai/Fu but Cai/Fu broke up the play and ground it out...

Mogensen/Boe Vs KKK/TBH

DEN were incredible nothing went past them at the net and every smash was nailed with a steep angle and MAS pair had no answers. MAS didn't play badly DEN just nailed the performance.

LYD/SBC Vs Septano/Ahsan

LYD was off colour all week but despite a good performace from INA KOR were overall too strong for them

I didn't really watch the other match.........

Womens Doubles:

Du/Yu Vs Wallwork/White

Demolition Job by Du/Yu. Of the 6 points ENG had in the first game 2 were serice faults, 1 misjudgement and 1 error. So thay actually "won" two points. Says it all. 2nd Game more of the same, Service faults & erros were the only way they got points. I have no doubt they will improve but this shows the size of the task they have.

CS/ZYL Vs TPE

The TPE were No.1 Seeds and played well. A very even game. CS was tiring in the last - She seems to lack stamina but her age can be attributed to this. A Solid game but the CHN pair have no obvious strengths just an allround game.

In the other played match PP/TQ tried hard but looked weak compared to their big sisters..

Mixed Doubles:

Kellog/Clark Vs Ko/Ha

Clark was poor in this match and despite a couple of winners of drops against Ha he offered little of the fight & tenacity I have seen from him before. Ko is unspectacular and very error strewn Ha looks consistent at the net and one to watch in the future.

Nova/Natsir Vs Russikikh/Limpele

Nova seemed disinterested throughout the game, Limpele was tired and offered little in the attack, but since Nova wasn't taking the initiative the Russo/Indo pair played well and Russikikh in particular finished points of well and took court away from Limpele to give him a break.

ZB/MJ Vs LYD/LHJ

KOR pair played much better than the previous day and thoroughly took CHN apart in the first but although looking pretty good in both 2nd & 3rd CHN took in. MJ should get a lot of credit for her defence who in several rallies fended off LYD & LHJ smashing from mid court at her.. ZB has a tremendous ability to work a rally and create oppurtunities but seems to lack the ability to finish a rally. MJ is similar, pretty conservative at the net she makes the chances but doesn't take hers with great vigour. At this level that is what is needed especially with ZB behind her

He/Yu

Professional job by He/Yu who never let the INA pair in despite a strong vocal support late on from the crowd...

Same excuses as other threads (Late etc....) But here goes
(QF recap snipped for brevity)...
..enjoyed reading once again..:)
- Did you by any chance see or notice the ending of CJ vs. Sho Sasaki's match? There's a bit of discussion in here on the controversial ending. Apparently the match ended with CJ pointing to a net shake and the umpire calling it a fault (racket touching it) on Sasaki.
- For some reason LYD did play not up to expectation in this AE. Losing in his XD (QF) and then in MD (Semis). Fatigue?? Hmmm...

What made CJ's victory even more controversial was that had Sasaki gotten the point he would have drawn the match to 20-20..

Yes I forgot that Sasaki did a net kill and the net shook. It happened so quick though I couldn't tell if it was the shuttle of the racket that hit. There was a bit of confusion. I tihnk in these cases the umpire has to be 100% there was an infringement.

CJ didn't really complain and turned around ready for the next point but the umpire called game, and CJ turnedaround& raised his hands. Sasaki refused to shake hands initially with CJ, the crowd booed (they had been supporting him previsously) then he relented & shook it.

LYD....puzzler seemed to lack spark..
