Nearly there...........

Mens Singles:

LCW Vs TH

Honestly I wasn't expecting much from this game. LCW is too strong for TH now. It panned out as such with TH offering little. He attempted to push for the line in the 2nd game but by effectively not contesting the 1st game it was destined for straight sets victory.

TH is not too old to win tournaments again but to reach the fitness level required he need to focus long term on regaining speed and stamina. His stamina wasn't tested this AE since his speed wasn't enough to push LCW.

LD Vs CJ

Say what you like about the Retirement two things should be considered:

1.CJ was clearly injured against Sasaki the previous day with his back
2.CJ knows he cannot beat LD
3.Anyone who saw the way he took persson apart the night before might as well have not turned up for this match

Womens Singles:

Tine Vs JYJ

Inexplicable................14-4 17-9 this is a virtually impossible score to be overhauled at on any level. TR was out for the count JYJ was cruising then she totally switched off..forgot her tactics and was thinking of the final. At least it is a good lesson learned..........

WYH Vs Jensen

Jensen Belied her position in the semi with poor display. Maybe she was just happy to be there, but WYH was not troubled in the slightest

Mens Doubles:

Cai/Fu Vs Mogensen/Boe

Again after a near perfect display the previous day (As JR/LP on Day 2) I expected Boe/Mogensen to beat Cai/Fu but somehow they never got into there stride. Cai played well all tournament at the net & Fu has improve a lot at the net. Where previously Fu at the net would be point to opposition now it is more even. They split the play up with flat rallies and pushes rather than slow lifts & big smashes. On the face of it you would thik this disadvantages them as Fu is the biggest smasher in the game, but far from it it means he can pick out the smashes and makes them more effective.

LYD/SBC Vs HSH/HJM

A puzzler. LYD/SBC were clearly the better pair. up in both games as soon as they were up ahead they eased off and let their countrymen through. Personally being cynical I say it was fixed, but I can't work out Why? Did KOR think HSH/HJM had more chance against CHN? I can't see why especially since LYD would be fresh as he didn't play XD

Womens Doubles:

CS/ZYL Vs Ha Jung Eun/Kim Min Jung

After a first game mishap this was a pretty simple (Although even simple Victories in WD are tortuous affairs) game for CHN. Ha offers good potentil to the future for KOR though...

ZTT/ZYW Vs Du/YU

I Expected Du/Yu to win, but although for Me Yu Yang is becoming (if she is not already) the Best Womens Doubles player in the worls. In WD she finds gaps, kills off points and makes few errors. Du Jing had a poor game though and did little to help Yu. their opponents were both strong.

Mixed Doubles

Flandy/Russikikh Vs He/Yu

For flandy it was just one match too many. He Hanbin has a lot of energy and with Yu they are a very good team. Team is the word, they talk to each other, help each other out and work together. It is good to see.

ZB/MJ Vs Ko/Ha

No doubt this should have Been ZB/MJ's game. As always they created the chances, were ahead is each of the first two games by good margins. ZB makes errors in runs though. A lot has been said elswhere about ZB's behaviour. I am ashamed to say I didn't notice any scolding by ZB, but my attention was diverted by the other game at the time (Can't remember which one). What I did notice was by the third game they didn't make any communication together and stood at opposite sides of the court in the break & the body language for interest in the game was terrible. Ma Jin is a talent but needs honing ( as any young player does). ZB Has almost everything - Fitness, skills, fight. He is just missing a big smash nd more importantly big game temperament. Not talking about the MJ incident but his tendency to throw away points from winning positions. His history says it all - 20-16 up in OG decider, Poor WC Final appearance both with GL. Things like this generally stick with people forever so I am not holding out for major title for ZB in the future.

Nearly there...........(rest of recap snipped for brevity)
..good read...Yes, i am also puzzled by LYD & SBC's Semifinals loss to their compatriots. Perhaps they did it to boost the other pair's WR??..

I Am 99% sure it was fixed. It didn't seem right. They got ahead (LYD/SBC) then let them in, but then upped it in a few rallie just to let them know they were better, but then let the game go.....a sure sign IMO...

HJM was LJJ's partner in the last AE final (not no-name newbie), or maybe they are just too familiar with each other?

I know that, they are not Newbies. LYD/SBC were clearly better but lost....suspicious.
