At this 2009 India Open, I was actually hoping for a "LCW-vs-TH' rematch (as played in the 2009 Swiss Open).

And if it was to happen, I would think that TH would win it this time. However, Chen Long and food poisoning interfered. We now have a 'Hafiz Hashim-vs-Taufik Hidayat' Final.

So how do you think I shall be predicting? :p:p:p

Just had my lunch - McD takeway (cheese burger/fries & coke) and heard Hijau being played on the radio. A simple, lovely, meaningful and well written song.

Ahhh ... the India Open badminton. Hmm ... first round, eh?? Chen Long - who was it here in this forum that told me that em' Chinese are having some shortage of quality shuttlers in their junior/back up squads???? Cant wait for our CWF or that Liew Daren guy to send LD packing in the first round.

Anyway, back to serious business ....

I believe this is just a one off. I mean LCW have been away from home for sometime. He must be fatigue or homesick by now. It is not easy being away from home, travelling, living out of a suitcase, pressure from fans at home, NSC, Sports Minister etc. What is important is that he won the SO. And this India trip enabled him to experienced the local indian cuisine, sights, shopping which will gear him up nicely for the coming WC.

I hope Boleh fans wont throw away their drums and trumpets with this early first round exit. Lets continue to support LCW in the name of Malaysia Boleh.

look at the bright side. After this bout of food poisoning, lcw's immune system has now built up a resistant to this new bug which should give him an added advantage in term of food contamination come WC which his competitors wouldn't have.

What's ironic here is that although Taufik Hidayat too was hit by food poisoning, he kept mum about it and put everything into his match against Kuan Beng Hong.

It was a tough match... but eventually Taufik's determination prevailed over both the poisoning and his opponent ;)

The 2009 India Open will be held from Tuesday March 24 to Sunday March 29.

LCW and TH will be seeded as No.1 and 2 respectively at this tournament. Currently, LCW is ranked at World No.1, while TH is at World No.7.

At their last meeting, at the 2009 Swiss Open Quarter-Finals, on Friday 13-Mar-2009, LCW narrowly defeated TH with scores of 21-23, 21-12, 21-19 in 1:05.

LCW continued making his way to win at that Finals, defeating Lin Dan, World No.2, with scores of 21-16, 21-16 in 0:52.

Will LCW and TH be facing each other at the Finals at this 2009 India Open?



It was hoped that we could have a 'Lee Chong Wei-vs-Taufik Hidayat' rematch at this Finals, but it wasn't the case. :(
