I am a vicious racket breaker. No, I have bad form, accuracy, racket placement, etc. So I would like to find myself a low/mid-end racket that will serve me well in my slow process of sharpening my form.
What makes a racket more durable?(String tensions aside)
Head weight?
Overall weight?
Material?

I would like to get as specific as possible. :]

only material.......:D The more you paid for a racket the more fragile you get :o
I agree with cooler, you should use YY Carbonex 8 with alumunium frame and external joint.....that will make you unbeatable in clash with others :D And of course you must consider Carbonex 8 is top racket in 86-88 era, almost all world ranking player use it  so it's not bad, cheap low end racket :)

Yes I own a Victor SI32 - this racket is very durable , even at its expense.

I have had the racket a for quite long and its been through a lot of clashes! But still it survived all of them - and still in my bag :D

But I think due to the expense , I would agree with the above.
A carbonex 8 will be very good - and is unbeatable in durability! Haha

Alright, cool this is what I was looking for. Thanks guys. :]

One small problem is that the stores around me don't carry it.
I don't plan on ordering online, because I would like to get my racket from a reliable source, to avoid getting a fake and end up with the complete opposite of what I was trying for.

All they have are cab 30ms, cab 21, and cab 8600ti.
I don't plan on spending more than 100.
Lol...it makes more sense now, they made the cab 8 in 1978?...

bought a MP-7, which seems quite similar to the cab 8.
Except mine seems really short. More like half an inch shorter than my broken AT500. :/
A little skeptical and uneasy, since the shop was very messy and didn't seem really legit.

No one would fake an MP-7, it just wouldn't be worth it. I think lower end Yonex rackets are shorter than the high end ones so I wouldn't be worried.

Is that a joke 86-88 era, its 2009! 20 years later. Its time to retire rackets like that. :p

don't laugh. Two years ago, I sold 2 slightly used original cab 8 to 'someone' here for 120 CAD each, no case. He would pay me 150-160 each if i didnt unwrap it. This guy do actually use cab 8, not for collecting. I also know a guy here who has 4-5 brand spanking new condition cab 8's, and refuse to sell.

-_- i think in hs, like 9 years ago one of my friend lost 8 practice matches in a row. well that was 1 too many and he took it out on his cab 8. Some reason he mailed it back to yonex and they sent him a cab 20 instead. I didnt know rackets at the time and we just though higher the number the better. This was when the ti10 red was king and the mp99 was just released

I would think that Carlton rackets (European versions) are quite durable. I had some really bad clashes with my partners and they still survive! They are stung at tensions between 24-28lb.

Yeah, but cooler is right, you can never crack a metal frame racket, only that you can't string it to high tensions either.

half joke, half not :D When decide to play again after stop playing for 18 years, i really get difficult in timing and feel in my new racket (i buy at900T :D) But when i borrow my friend Carbonex 8DX old time (18 years ago this is my main racket) suddenly i can stroke far better......even not all my tehnique back but i never misshit, always on the sweetspot  i can do any shot i want...lob, backhand, smash, net, drop all nice and easy. I try to find another new one 8DX (remember, 8DX not 8SP or tour ar any 8 now) but never find :crying: so i try to adapt the new ISO head and stiff feel at900T ;)....And for more sad news is now my friend Carb 8DX is already broken when he try to take 28 lbs  he never listen to me, i already suggest him not to do that....It,s really tough, good and amazing racket ( read : FOR ME :p ) but cannot take more than 24 lbs i think....too bad now YY make poor new Carb 8, all carb series under 20 is very bad feel (again for me)....i miss the old day

issarakaya (http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/member.php?u=32177), I think the new Cab8 are not made in Japan anymore, and in the old days, 22lb was considered as high tension.
