Men's Doubles FINAL
Choong Tan Fook/Lee Wan Wah [1] vs Hendri Kurniawan Saputra/Hendra Wijaya -- the MAS pair should lift a second title since they left BAM last year.

Unless there's strict rule on order of play, why do the organisers not schedule WD first before XD?That would have used up half of Marissa's fuel tank and given IND XD some advantage.
I'm looking forward to Spore taking the MD title.MAS uncles' skills won't be enough to cover for their doubtful stamina.Hendra/Hendri's pretty good but lack competitive opportunities to showcase.

I think INA XD will have no problems with the IND pair, despite the latter's home ground advantage. Maybe what I heard from the TV is muted but I could hardly hear any cheers of robustness from the Indian crowd! :rolleyes:

I agree with S'pore taking the title, but I don't agree about MAS uncles' stamina. Staying power is still good, mental power is perhaps just average. S'poreans on the other hand really showed class in the semis today.

Prediction:

MS :Taufik will get his first title in 2009.

WS: Pi HY will win .

MD : Choong/Lee will win

WD: Ma/Wang will win. If only Vita pair with Jo, they will have a chance.

XD: Flandi/Vita will surely win.

abedeng and self shared some thoughts on this very point. according to us the 1st match cud have been XD and the last game WD or as abedeng pointed out keep the XD as the last match as it has Indian interest so that the crowd stays till the end and does not filter away.

MS....Dare not to expect anything from HH, not worth it if have to call ambulance...!
WS......Lady PI takes it, but still hope Julia to prove me wrong again.
MD......The uncles has past their prime time, Sin pair will have to prove their SF convincing win is no luck...
WD......Chn pair looks strong, and Vita will be tired after XD match...

CHN are just too fast for INA, and Vita's court movement does not help.

It's just incredible how many young pairs CHN has in WD:
(1) Du Jing/Yu Yang -- Olympics Champions and aiming for the World Championships this year no doubt.
(2) Cheng Shu/Zhao Yunlei -- 4 titles since the Olympics last year and already World No 3 now.
(3) Ma Jin/Wang Xiaoli -- first senior title and I predict they will be sent to more SS tourneys, esp with Ma Jin's involvement in XD.
(3) Pan Pan/Tian Qing -- WR15 and no titles yet. IMHO, the weakest among the 4 pairs.
