But players may look so much better when they're outside of the badminton court, where they get to put make ups and dressed in clothes that make them look so more beautiful than when they are wearing their badminton attire.

Remember a while ago, Kwun has posted a picture of Gong Ruina and asked us to guess who she is? She looks so much more attractive in that picture than the pictures of her wearing her badminton uniform.

By the way, my vote goes to Koon Wai Chee of Hong Kong.

Tang Hetian, Joanne Goode, Rikke Olsen, Ge Fei, Gu Jun, Susi Susanti. All these ladies look good without dressing up, and Susi stands out because she moves around the court like a goddess.

despite being very culturally dependent, and very personal preference, etc, etc, i think it will be nice to have some point reference? how about let's post some pics?

a lot thinks Camilla is "hot". but if you put Camilla and Anna side by side, would you still say so? is Camilla hot hot, or just hot because of lack of an alternative? the thing that really turns me off about Camilla is her temper.

If you have seen the pictures Camilla posted in www.camillamartin.net for M! magazine, I'm sure a lot of people will start voting for her. But I still think Ye Zhaoying is the prettiest.

I'm a bit surprised that while Zhang Jiewan was brought up so many times in this thread, Huang Sui hasn't been mentioned. Wouldn't you say she's as attractive - if not more attractive - than Zhang?

From the pictures posted here, the only person that looks hot *on court* is Carola Bott. Now she is definitely the Anna Kournakova of badminton!

Camilla looks good in her magazine shots, but on court she looks average. I haven't seen any off-court pics of Carola, but her on-court ones look very nice indeed!

the first annual Badminton Central online "Beauties of Badminton" calendar, otherwise known as the BC BOD Calendar. Kwun seems to have been collecting lots of pictures, but to be fair all contestants should be allowed to submit their own. BTW, thanks for posting the photo of Pernille Harder.

I've actually met Camilla once during Hong Ta Shan Open at OCBC and she IS very pretty, though a bit too thin and this was before & after her match.

I don't understand this, NONE of these women are "hot", average at best. Even Camilla Martin, her eyes are too close together and her complexion is horrible (and yes I've been to her website). When I think of a hot woman, I might think of a model. Do these women compare to your typical fashion models? NO. Fashion models are HOT, these badminton players are not. I think your comments and opinions are due more to the fact that these women are part of the badminton world. Just ask anyone that doesn't play or know anything about badminton, show them the pictures in this thread and ask them their opinion.

Actually I was referring more to their faces, yes, models tend to be very skinny, more than I would prefer. But do you deny that I am right? These women aren't what I would call "pretty", are they to you? Besides, we both know any sane man would choose the typical model over any female badminton player. Jadis, this is supposed to be a fun thread about women that play badminton. I don't see why you feel you have to be a judge about what constitutes pretty and what does not consitute pretty. It's up to me if I think the women are attractive or not. I find several of the players attractive. If you don't find the women 'hot' fine, but what's the point of strongly debating this?

I know this is a light hearted post but there is a serious point here. Women badminton players, in fact sportswomen in general are judged on their attractiveness, not their ability.

Kournikova is the best paid and most reported tennis player even though she's never won a tournament. How many of you would name your favourite female player as the most attractive?

Agree with Cheung that beauty is in the eye of the beholder - someone just told me yesterday that I had really bad taste in men! Personally, I don't think any of the badminton players are stunningly good-looking - I suppose they just look better and better as you watch them play... for really hot males, I would take to the soccer pitch anytime! As for females, I guess the place to look is fashion magazines???

Anyway, I like Huang Sui from China. She doesn't even come close to being hot but she appeals to me in some way. For guys, I *still* give Lee Dong-Soo from S Korea the vote but I think Kim Dong-Moon is the REAL MAN, in every sense of the word... ;) :D

Has any of you guy's seen Sue Pennington? she's british not very high up the rankings - but she did lose to Rebecca Pantaney in the Grand Slam Semi Finals. she is very very very very hot. and gail emms isn't half bad either.

On the ladies front i think they are spoilt for choice. you just have to look at the men's doubles pairings - they're built for power and agression on court but most of them are really nice guys off court. I can see why so many of our club swoon at Nathan robertson and why Ella miles marrie Manfred Tripp this year

I think so too. She don't have badminton physique. Also, us badminton players don't hold our racquet that way. The racquet is all steel, likely an very old prop dug out from the prop bin. The top she is wearing is not suitable for fast pace in badminton.

And the nails? long nails and badminton don't mix. And the nails are red.............black i could understand..........

In the badminton, very rare to find ......

In my memory not so many girls can be categorized as "chio", maybe we can count :
- Huang Hua (CHN) in the end of 80' and beginning of 90's
- Sarwendah Kusumawardhani (INA) same era with Huang Hua
- Gong Ruina (CHN) in the end of 90's and 2000 era

I have never seen for Japanese and Korean player, but maybe they are also chio.

The girl must win at least one big tournament .....

Maybe can add the list with pics.
