elmos 03-31-2009, 10:01 AM Well the Netherlands have a very good team this year so I think they'll claim the Team Championship. Russia, England, Germany and off course Denmark will battle for the other medals.
Predictions for the indivual event will came later :p

Euro-badminton is very liberal eh? This pair is from France and Ireland... Even at the Junior level a pair can represent 2 different national badminton associations... I am sure we won't find this practice at the Asian Junior Championships... :o
Oh, I predict Russia will win WS and WD in this tournament. I love this! If Russia and the other Eastern block countries support badminton, then we will most probably stay in the Olympics forever... AND, we will see more sexy Eastern Euro girls playing badminton. Good for the sport!
**KZ** 04-03-2009, 02:05 AM hmm...pedro martin from portugal seem to be a talented player....maybe he'll make it to the final or maybe even win...here comes portugal!!
qazwsx 04-03-2009, 02:36 AM should have some live streaming, check this site http://lnx.eurojunior2009.org/

These two are already playing for a long time and it doesn't seem like they will be playing with a compatriot in the near future. But I'm not sure if they're allowed to play together at the world championships or even the Olympics...
elmos 04-06-2009, 04:44 AM Semi finals today around five:
Denmark vs. England and Germany vs. The Netherlands!
elmos 04-07-2009, 09:59 AM And who else than Denmark won!!
Denmark - The Netherlands 3-0
My predictions for the upcoming individual event:
- final men's singles: Martins - Rasmussen
- final women's singles: Hald -Tan
demolidor 04-07-2009, 11:36 AM What a draw!? The tophalf of both MS and WS seems a lot stronger  ...

I agree, difficulty with these Juniors is that they don't have much to qualify them on. So there's a lot of discussion between the organisation and the different countries about this everytime again. Also a lot of players in Southern Europe don't play a lot of tournaments, so it's almost impossible to know how good they are...
FeintMan 04-08-2009, 05:19 PM MS :
Martins - Rasmussen
WS:
Marin (Spain) - Hald
demolidor 04-09-2009, 02:56 AM :p Then I'll go for Martins v Borg & Hald v Clausen ...
Great (:() the no sound cam on court 2 . Means missing out on the court 5 scheduled matches including Deprez v Hald http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/images/icons/icon13.gif.
**KZ** 04-09-2009, 08:44 AM can we actually watch it live? cos i can't seem to watch it...
**KZ** 04-09-2009, 09:23 AM I can watch live streaming already....problem it's streaming is just too bad and too slow for me....damn...
FeintMan 04-09-2009, 05:14 PM As I said, Carolina Marin is going to win that championship.
elmos 04-10-2009, 02:30 AM As I said, Carolina Marin is going to win that championship.
You seem to be very sure ;)
But I still think there are better around. :)
FeintMan 04-10-2009, 05:26 AM Look look, she's now in Quarter Finals!
I've seen this girl playing against very good players and she's really impressive.
I'm sure she will win :)
elmos 04-10-2009, 05:48 AM Look look, she's now in Quarter Finals!
I've seen this girl playing against very good players and she's really impressive.
I'm sure she will win :)
I never heard of her, but that's not unusual for Spanish players ;)
What do you know about her?
FeintMan 04-10-2009, 05:52 AM I'm an spanish player (under 19) and I've been in many concentrations with her. I think she's 15, but she is the top woman player in Spain ( I think that she will beat the Olympic player Yoana Martinez ). She's a very complete player and I have no doubt that she will play in London 2012. I'm serious, you have to see how this girl plays, it's awesome (and she's only 15 or 16!)
demolidor 04-10-2009, 06:10 AM The numbers don't lie . Spanish U15 champ last year, this year's U17 champ already. Played Chloe Magee and Maja Tvrdy till 21-23 in the 3rd at the European Team champs not long ago. Now beating the few names I had on my bottom half list already :). Semi's should be reachable and then who knows ...
Borg out, Borg out . That was pretty weak or pretty strong by Rasmussen depending on how you want to look at it haha. Didn't seem to happy with himself so I'll call it pretty weak http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/images/icons/icon13.gif.
FeintMan 04-10-2009, 06:17 AM Hahaha, yes, I hope seeing her playing in LIVE in the camera they have in Milano, it's so impressive :)
I think that Jamie Van Hooijdonk would win Bajuk and then we'll have to see what happens with Rasmussen :P
efslin 04-10-2009, 06:56 AM Borg did not impress me at all in either yesterday's or today's match. He was slow on court. Rasmussen played a solid match but nothing special.
The other MS match on camera earlier today: Lehikoinen/Persson was much better.
elmos 04-10-2009, 09:04 AM Bajuk should be exhausted after his previous match.
It took him 72 minutes!!
Tan is leading against Lene Clausen, so go Belgium!
And Again that Marin is leading also!
@Feintman: do you have a picture of her? Can't find one. And are you also playing for Spain? (and what's your name)
FeintMan 04-10-2009, 09:10 AM Here you are:

This is the Spanish selection. She's the first girl starting from the right.
http://www.20minutos.es/imagen/936159 <- She when she won the U17 in Spain.
http://www.badminton.es/photobook_getphoto.aspx?id=113006 <- Here she is with the U19 selection.
I'm Eric Navarro and I lasted 5th in the last U17 Spanish Championship (I lost the match between Diego Errandonea).

Thanks a lot! If she's just 15 she ican very well be the future leading lady of European badminton. And she has to play against my compatroit Lianne Tan in the semi final! :p
FeintMan 04-10-2009, 09:51 AM Lianne Tan? Beatriz Corrales played against her and they did a 3-sets match. C. Marin win easily in 2 sets Beatriz Corrales so.. good luck for Tan! I'm still thinking she will win this champ! :P
FeintMan 04-10-2009, 10:42 AM Have u seen the match Holst - Martins?
Awesome match! I could record it and I'll upload it to YouTube!
Who will win in MS?
PS: When will be played the semifinals?
efslin 04-10-2009, 10:44 AM Martins is out :( ultimately I think the Danish coaching experience made the difference in this match..
It will be interesting to see Holst played against Lehikoinen in the SF, Lehikoinen beat Holst in the team event.
Isegrim 04-10-2009, 10:45 AM yeah great match!
but tomorrow he will be stopped by lehikoinen. he already lost to the finnish
in the team event :)
Isegrim 04-10-2009, 10:49 AM two people with the same idea ;)
i played against lehikoinen at an international tournament last year
and i lost 21-4 21-9... but the match was after a hard injury..
elmos 04-10-2009, 11:15 AM I reckoned Lehikoinen to be an outsider, but after the defeat of favorite Martins everyone of the semi-finalists has a change...
**KZ** 04-10-2009, 11:27 AM wow...seems that there are other european countries besides denmark that are producing good players nowadays...spain even portugal....hope that they will become eventual champions in the near future...
**KZ** 04-10-2009, 11:29 AM for those that are able to watch these matches pls do post them on youtube...thx...
FeintMan 04-10-2009, 02:40 PM Ok, let me some time and I'll post Martins - Holst (i had some issues with the LIVE camera transmission, but it's good quality)

badboypedi 04-11-2009, 12:58 PM does anyone know who the spanish girl is??? carolina maria marin??
i never heard anything of her, and shemade it to the final????
on www.badminton.de it says, that she is only 15 years old, but her age is not confirmed yet...
FeintMan 04-11-2009, 02:28 PM Hi, I'm an spanish player, so I know perfectly Carolina Marin (i've commented her in the other pages of this topic).
I'm sure she will win tomorrow, in a easy way: i have seen her winning chinese people and defeating big names of international badminton. She was born in 1993, but she's now 15. I have posted pics of her in the other pages.
She will, for sure, WIN, easily (2 sets).

who did she beat before?i mean those big names:D
FeintMan 04-11-2009, 02:39 PM In the last World Championship of Schools (or something like that) she won the two Chineses and Taiwan's players. In Spain she beats Bin Xin Xu (she's quite good, at least here) and Zhang You.
Well! You'll see tomorrow :) By now she's showing her fantastic game to the rest of the europeans, so have faith in her ;)
demolidor 04-12-2009, 05:07 AM ¡Vamos Carolina! :):p
efslin 04-12-2009, 05:49 AM as usual, Denmark won MS and WS titles.
badboypedi 04-12-2009, 05:49 AM what a tight match!! the spanish girl was defeated in about an hour by anne hald.. next match to be mens double
FeintMan 04-12-2009, 05:49 AM Well, Anne Hald has defeated Carolina Marin, but that was a good match, wasn't it? :P
It's not bad for a 15 year-old girl.
grhm2356 04-12-2009, 05:51 AM In the last World Championship of Schools (or something like that) she won the two Chineses and Taiwan's players. In Spain she beats Bin Xin Xu (she's quite good, at least here) and Zhang You.

Well, she lost. But she is a very good player indeed.
But what is the matter with her attitude? Fair play is a very beautiful thing. Not apologizing if the shuttle hit the net and passed to the other side, not polite passing the shuttle to the other player to serve... oh well, maybe it will come with age.
FeintMan 04-12-2009, 05:57 AM I know what you're saying, she's not really polite in the court, but I hope that come with age. She acted rly bad in some actions during the match.
Ton-Min-Bad 04-12-2009, 02:02 PM Great match! It was just so close!
I don't have any problems with Marin's behaviour. She's just very passionate about her sports. There are enough robotic pokerfaces running around the court IMO.
FeintMan 04-12-2009, 02:12 PM Hahaha At least I can tell you that she's rly kind outside the court and quite a happy girl. Her behaviour in the court is all about concentration, she doesn't care about what the opponent thinks, which's good.
george@chongwei 04-13-2009, 01:17 AM wow, so who's winning very big here?:)
**KZ** 04-13-2009, 04:26 AM looks like carolina will be the next saina nehwal....young and already making it big....though I hope she'll be mentally stronger...
badMania 04-16-2009, 02:41 AM Sylvain Grosjean/Sam Magee will be vying for the title after 2 near misses, beaten in the German and Dutch Juniors by Mohd Ulinnuha/Berry Angriawan.
Look's like my prediction in MD is spot on. So, Ulin/Berry are slightly superior compared to the European champions, which will be good news for them in the upcoming World Juniors. We shall see who are the pairs from CHN, KOR, and MAS that will challenge the INA pair.
