CWF's loss to DPY was not a surprise to me but I just couldn't accept the scorelines.

TCS? I salute those who have courage to PAW on him against Ng Wei.

Please forgive my ignorance, senior people but....

Any place we can see live scores for Asian Championship?
Any reason why so less Chinese?
Is there a quota system for countries in this tournament? I can see players from Nepal, Maldives, Cambodia etc. which I would not normally expect. (Please do not take my comments otherwise, I would love players from all countries playing together. )

-Unfortunately, no live-score facility for BAC 2009 (quite disappointed), only updating result through tournament software.
-Top Chinese shuttlers skip this GP Gold tourney for Sudirman Cup preparation, WS is exceptional.
-As usual BAC is always attended by minor badminton country representatives as you mention it.

As expected, Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan took 3 sets to beat another upcoming Japanese pair. 1 down and hopefully 4 to go.

Their next opponent will be Sun Junjie/Tao Jiaming. Again, nothing to be taken for granted given Kido/Hendra's long absence from tourneys. Of course, the loss of Lee Yong Dae/Shin Baek Cheol does help in terms of a potential threat to the title. Now, the opponents to beat to reach the Final should be:
R16: Sun Junjie/Tao Jiaming
QF: Chen Hung-Ling/Lin Yu-Lang
SF: either Hoon Thien How/Lin Woon Fui or Kenta Kazuno/Kenichi Hayakawa

As for Flandy Limpele/Vita Marissa, they also beat their Vietnamese opponent in the first round in 3 sets and will now face a young KOR pair Kim Ki Jung/Eorn Hye Won.

All the Malaysian Men's Singles back-up players lost in the 1st round. What must Rashid Sidek do to improve the situation? The Indon and the Chinese players don't seem to have this problem except perhaps in a super-series tournament where they are drawn against the top seeds like LD, LCW & CJ.
This ABC championship does not have the best players in the world competing and yet the Malaysian back-up players played so badly. What a waste!

Trick shots are good only when they are new to the opponent.
That's why Hafiz rarely wins a second time against a good player.

He should shorten it to INA..

Junior lah, Junior, Chen Long havent won a title in senior level but I think soon will. WCH & LCW also didnt win WJC or runner up WJC, so? Someone mentioned Yeoh KB was WJC runner up, look where he is now.
LOL, the current China youngster MS also havent won SS title, you expect our MS to win already.:p And CHina supposed to have the best.

Our uncle WCH also, well known for his determination, won his 1st GP GOld when he was 20(1997) but didnt win a SS level title(SS equivalent) till 2002, when he was 25. Unless you want count Commonwealth one in 2001 (24 y.o)

to be honest, i am not going against any of our MJs...
my comparison with CHN is for the whole picture...
i trust no CHN junior winning any senior title yet
coz of their systematic approach to expose them to
each level of competition...they have bundle of talents
before their juniors....LD, CJ and BCL can still win titles
for them for another few years...their juniors DPY, WK/KW??, ZWL,CL, QYB
already show some potential......
what we have? LCW, LCW, LCW
HH and KBH is going out anytime...
with current perfomance of our MJs....
what can you see 3-4 years down the road??
not i want to overate our MJs....but ask ourself
how long can we rely on LCW??
who can you pin-point to replace LCW???

P/S: yesterday ABC, China only one casualty, QYB, also knock-out by team mate BCL....how about us???

All the above & more are already being discussed in the back up thread & MJ thread, LCW threads, etc, etc. And as already discussed in those threads, WCH was also alone in holding the fort for many yrs bf LCW (and for a short time Hafiz the yoyo) showed up. And as I already given the info, WCH was holding the fort without much titles also.

And once again, other countries cannot compare with China in terms of strings of juniors coming up, they train full time starting 7 - 9 yrs old.

And also as already discussed, our back up or MJs parents must think how long can "top up" the allowances, the players themselves must think whether work part time to support themselves/their families or to take an offered scholarship to further studies. Ask parents with kids in BJSS or back up, see what their main concern is.;);)

If they're considered no good, then? The 3 older muskeeters go KLRC & leave 20 y.o. Arif ? The rest of the back up(whose results are even lower) ..... retire & further studies? Push 18 y.o. Iskandar up?Or syawal or zulfaldi?

As for China, read in the "LCW....2012 thread" on how successful LD, CJ were when younger. If I not mistaken they were already winning SS titles at 19 & 18 (look at BWF site). That's China's standard(I think), the current crop consider slow already & I not talking abt Chen Long.
Their young WS like Wang Lin, Wang Yi Han,have already won SS titles in 2008 & 2009, ready to take over at 20,21.

And etc, etc, etc shall be continued in the Prof players threads :p

Ya, the term was not used to disparage anyone. Far from it.
The term was actually coined by the newscasters and newspaper reporters and at times used as such by commentators of badminton tournaments and on tv sports tickers. It is just like the word 'Brits' being used for the British or Britons and they don't take any offence.
Anyway I thank you for your undersatanding and I will be more mindful of the sensibility of some people. Regards.

He always called Indonesian players as Indon and his main idol was Rudy Hartono. He called the players from Cambodia , Vietnam as Indo players. The word Indon is not deflammatory, it is a mystery to the world why this word is offensive to our good indonesian friends. The word Indon is universally used in good faith and in good light by all friends of the good people of Indon(eisa).

Its true, I dont understand what's the fuss with the word 'Indon'. Even my Indonesian friends refer to themselves as Indons.
I myself don't know also why the word 'Indon' had offensive meaning to us Indonesian.. it has ever been discussed in Indonesia forum, that the word 'Indon' has bad meaning for us.
so i say Indonesia people don't call their country as Indon.
just Foreigners/Strangers call Indonesia as Indon..

You may have known people coming from Australia like me are sometimes been referred to as man from oz which is fine. Indon is shorter to type than Indonesia such as we use c u (see you), tq (thank you) in sms. The main topic we discuss here is always badminton and if we refer to Rexy as coming from Indon, we mean "Rexy is one hell of a good doubles coach coming from Indonesia." We respect both Rexy and Indonesia, 100% no offence intended. So take it easy, my Indon,er..........sorry Indonesian friends, we are more about badminton here and your country certainly had produced many , many good players.
