Joachim Persson will not make the trip to Guangzhou for the Sudirman Cup after it was decided that the Danish No. 2 needed to remain at home to concentrate on sorting out a long standing knee problem. Jan O Jorgensen will then take the spot in the team, which was announced on Saturday.

Agreed, they could have brought a 2nd doubles which some countries are not familiar with, but could turn out to be a surprise. Marie Roepke, for example.

That's a smart DEN strategy.DEN WD is a sure loss regardless of scratch pairing options because their skills are no match against CHN,INA,KOR and MAS so might as well concentrate resources on the other four win options.Similarly MAS should write off their WD (against some team) and KOR their WS.
