I am ok about Cold shower or about 1 Water Heater--still waiting water to get warm.....
I am ok about waiting 30min-45min to play.
I am ok there is no AC.
I am ok to pay .25 cents for water/microwave.
I am ok about out of toilet paper.

But, now I strongly feel that the members of ABC deserve more RESPECT and kindness in Treatment than to walk-in customers who reserved COURTS or at least have a sense of fairness & be in reason....

ABC have 17 courts: Yes lots of courts to play, But not if 14 courts are taking for RESERVED & ONLY 3 open courts for MEMBERS: How many members to ABC Have? 1000 people at least--YOU DO the calculation!!!!!!! ----->>>>This is getting out of Control & Management is getting either too SELFISH or just Don't care except---but hopefully I am wrong about this statement.
I warm up 30 minutes--then reserved hit the court, I looked around me, every courts HAVE a WHITE LETTER---ohhhhh shiiiiiii, finally i realized that there is only 3 courts against the wall that don't have NOTICE white LETTERs!!!! Members are coming in every 5-10 minutes after 7:30......at waiting for an open court to play, check the time 9pm--OK Now 1 reserved court had ended...but guess what---they haven't finished the game even time is over. Now Some members is mad, so tell them it time UP. Guess what, an argument starts------>>> almost a fight broke OUT......where is WILLIAM or any Big Managers today????? ---->>> Things will get worst if you don't work out this situation!!!! Please don't wait till the water get BOIL!!!

Please, ABC management, Have some luv and understanding for your loyal members: AT least have 6 - 8 courts always OPEN for the MEMBERS ONLY: 3 courts is 3/17 is less than 20% you are given to the MEMBERs: Is this sound FAIR to YOU, at least give your MEMBER 40% of the playing COURTS for any-day of the week-That not too much to ask????? also, there alwayz at least 1 court RESERVED for TRAINNING which i havent mention YET.

Most likely it's because court rental means continues new income whereas membership fee was old income which is already in their pocket.

There is no excuse to just have only 3 open courts for YOUR MEMBERS to play on. No matter how Pack or how empty the courts are. It just don't add up and very Bad on management part. It's not about OLD income, I pay on a monthly basis with ABC, and some people don't have the money to pay a full year. So Future earning on membership is very important. An for new players reserve courts-might want to become a Member too. But, with 3 open Courts for MEMBERSHIP player: WE WILL HAVE A BIG ISSUE HERE OR TIME FOR LOOKING AN ALTERNATIVE.

DEX: Have you ever played at ABC or a Member?????? You need to be in a MEMBER's shoe and play here 3x a wk like myself to see how things are before you can really make an fair judgement. I am very disappointed with the ways things are going.

Where is William or ABC management? I don't hear from them yet, must be problem????

Hi SuperBird!

I'm not trying to give an excuse for the Management at ABC. As a matter of fact, I've visit your club once during their grand opening month. I just want to express my knowledge about this issue because we have the same problem with the club I'm playing at. I'm wondering where William is right now? Hong Kong/China probably?

Hi SuperBird and Dex

Thanks for your articles. I already asked our staffs to limit the bookings to 10 courts including bookings by Members.

I just visited most of the clubs in the Bay area to learn what they r doing especially on the Court queuing. They are using Computer and very sophisticated. And I'll spend a trip to China/HongKong next week to see clubs there too. So, please bear with us for a little while. We'll have a major renovation on Court Queuing System after my return.

ABC Members and Patrons are our precious asset. We hope to see everyone leaving the club with a smile.

Thanks for coming to play at ABC.

Dear ABC Management:

That's excellent service for you to make a trip to China/Hong Kong just to find out this solution! I trust it'll be the most perfect system anyone would have in the States. I look forward to learning from you soon so it can be applied to some of the clubs in Canada. Bon Voyage!

"using Computer and very sophisticated"--->Court Queuing System

I don't think ABC need a Super computer programs to do the Queuing System! William, You have a few workers sitting at front desk-->lots of free time. Maybe, you can use 1 of them, with an old school NOTEBOOK, a workable PENCIL or PEN: Walk around the courts that are not reserved and write down who is playing, and who is waiting and if any new members or players are waiting, have them write down their names on a piece of paper and Leave it on the BENCH for that court(just like they do at restaurant!!!!)))). Then every 30 min or so Come over and update or check to see how the game are moving. Maybe, have a nice waitress to offer some coffee for another few more $$$$ if needed.

1) Computer is a great idea: but then we will have another issue at hand: OOPS computer is not working today, we need to wait for our TECH to return from CHINA to update the system, in the mean time we just need to get along. Or, the computer is working, and people are still complaining about the queuing system is not FAIR or whatever.

***10 courts: 30-45 minutes average for 2 games, 5 minutes warm up. That mean for For every hr from 7:30pm - 10PM: ONLY 3 peak hrs, that ABC needs someone to walk around with notebook and pen and to reduce warm-up time and get the gAME MOVING. **** Total time for a worker to walk-around and make sure the game are going is less than 30 minutes a night!!!! Why do we need a super computer for 10 courts that are playing, It like a restaurant with on 10 tables, and 4 people at the table eating for 45 minutes: Not too difficult to manage, if you have someone check around to see when the next available table and which 4 members is Next for a full MEAL. Then everyone is happy, and make sure people don't jump around table, unless there no one is waiting at the other side; or if there is shortest of #, and need someone to fill up the slot. just my 2 cents.....

Yes, It would be nice to have a super computer w/ a great program: That will be $$$$$$$$$ out of ABC pocket. I don't see that will be happening anytime soon. History tell a lot: water heater:take a long time-->then we get small capacity one...( will I happy that we got something .......

SuperBird,

As a player, I understand your frustration. Everyone wants to come and play un-interrupted right away. However, it's not going to happen everyday. At least, seems ABC is willing to improve, and maybe we should give them some time to try out some methods.

It's much easier for us to say this or that, as we only pay membership, but not putting our live time savings and career on the line. Once we are the ones running business, we may need to think a lot of more. Sometimes, we did not do enough, some times, we may over-do it. Well, it takes time and some bloody lesson to learn. There's no short cut...

Do not take it personally, as I am pretty sure have no relationship with ABC. I just think we should give them a break, and give them a few chances to try. Keep bashing and blasting, even after they made apology in public and promise to improve, is a bit too much. :o

I play regularly at a number of clubs in the bay area including bintang, ggbc, and bbc, Z-Badminton (previously Apac) and they all have computer systems. I used to play down south for a little while at sgvbc, and I hated the queing system there, there doesnt seem to be one. So far I think it seems 20-30 minutes of play time is pretty normal, with about a 2 minute warm up. I understand some people need more time to warm up than others and theres nothing you can do about that. Usually there aren't many reserved courts, never more then 1/4 of the gym, included team or coaching courts. Right now Im enjoying ggbc a lot with a play time of 25 minutes it gives you enough time for 1.5-2 games.

I never had a chance to play at ABC as it wasnt open until I left socal, I did manage to hit once before it was 'open' but there werent even lines drawn yet. Gym had a great atmosphere and ill probably make a point to try and play there some day. But as far as my socal experience went, sgvbc seemed like the main place to play, and I never understood if there was a court queing system. I couldnt tell if people actually had the court reserved either. From what it seemed, you can play on any open court for as long as you want, and if some one had it reserved they can come kick you off. Other than that I couldnt tell what was going on. This wasnt that much of a problem since I played pretty late (24hrs rocks) but when I was there earlier in the evening I was left clueless to the entire procedure.

Overall I highly reccomend a standard queing system. G1 has a simple system of a court timer plus a que list per court, in which members put their member tags on and move them up as they go on to the court, and then start the timer as well. System seems fairly simple and works well. And if you forget to start your timer, the other members are always willing to start it for you :P Very friendly, and acceptable customer satisfaction.
