View Full Version : 2009 Gosen - Complete Lineup Revamp
Easy Tiger 04-27-2009, 10:25 PM Just having a look over at the Shuttle-House website and looks like Gosen have completely changed their lineup for 2009.
Top racket is now the Aermet Roots 6000.
And it can only take 20lbs!
Wha-?

Dont buy it....today my friend racket is broken with only soft clash and tension 24lbs  Too fragile....expensive and fragile is very bad combination :D
Easy Tiger 04-28-2009, 05:26 PM That's the Aermet Platinium. Looks like a 'last hurrah' for the 08 Aermet series.
You'll notice the new rackets don't have that thinned down section near the T....well except for the lower end models!

Ah Man that's UGLY :D
This looks like it was broken intentionally by your own hands! Not during badminton from the way the pictures is arranged and no description of events ha ha !:p:D
Gosen's Aermet rackets is very powerful and light.. A soft swing and your shots will go all the way out. Slightly hard to control the shots. But its a very good racket.

Easy Tiger 05-03-2009, 06:07 AM Even More new Gosen rackets here. (http://www.kondosports.com/SHOP/209164/list.html) I have no idea what a BRX25 is.

Hmm, yeah. I like it (saying that, I like the Karakal Tattoo rackets as well).
limak 05-03-2009, 09:24 AM Look at head shape of new Gosens. Isnīt it any "back to the ovals" campaign:p?
Easy Tiger 05-03-2009, 05:13 PM Nah, they're sort of a "Mild ISO", a bit like the Tetracrosses. Maybe it's a Japanese thing?
I wish I could see the colours a bit better. As soon as a racket isn't red, I'm like "ooh! Awesome! It's not red!" lol
Can anyone decipher from the above image what the balance points are?
event 05-03-2009, 10:25 PM They have a 2009 English/int'l catalogue still on the Gosen website (http://www.gosen.co.jp/racket/pdf/index2009_eng.html). This catalogue still has the Aermet Platinum along with the 8900, 7900, 6900, and 4900. The 4900 is the only model name I can see that is similar between the two catalogues though the detailed model name on the English version is EBRRG49 whereas the Japanese version is BRA49F. The one in the English catalogue still says you can string it at up to 30lbs while the Japanese one says a maximum of 23, or 20 with the R4X-100 string, which is on of the strings listed on the English catalogue for 30lbs. The logos for the construction gimmicks are different for the two 4900s so it is conceivable that they only build the Japanese models to be strung at much lower tensions. Any possibility they are referencing different ways of measuring tension or different stringing techniques?
By the way, I wouldn't say the difference implies that the English catalogue has only older models. In my experience, the Japanese catalogues have always been very different. I don't think they ever had the Boonsak model, for example, and I don't remember the Japanese catalogues having any of the x900 or x700 models, either, though this 2009 4900 is an exception.

ROFL!!?!? A golf stick!!! That's a terrible thing to do to the racket!
Easy Tiger 05-03-2009, 11:11 PM It's quite common with other products to have 'Japan Only' models, so no surprises that Gosen is doing it, too. Being the Xenophobes they are, not surprised they don't sell the Boonsak model there, either.
What's a bit strange though is that the 'Gavun' feature is not part of the Japanese models, except as a 'cheaper' model, and that the upper end models can't take higher tensions!
Very weird.
