Hi everyone, i currently use a victor arterytec ti-98 for my all around game but bought an arc 7 for when i feel defensive since everyone posted that it's a very good defensive racket. I tried to give the arc7 some time to adjust to me but it just does not seem very fast. I measured the balance point and it was a 305mm which i've read is well into the head heavy attacking rackets range. My arc7 is a TH coded 3UG5 racket strung with microlegend and with a replacement grip in place of the original.

For all you arc7 owners out there, do you have the same problem as me? The racket seems rather slow in my hand compared to my arterytec ti-98 (bp 29mm, same setup) and my supernano pro 7 bp295.
Is the arc7 supposed to have such a head heavy balance? or is it just me?

I have an Arc 7 and from the way I play singles, it's pretty darn offensive. And the Arc 7 is headlight, perhaps your racquet is fake? However many people have a heavy grip or add weights to it to change the balance point and then, I suppose it may become a defensive racquet. However, since I haven't used any of your other racquets, I wouldn't really be able to say.

I know it's a real racket. I guess adding heavy grips helps but that just increases the weight and i prefer thin grips. maybe G5 stock grip + one layer of overgrip at most but i still prefer replacement grips.

Well, I'm not too sure I can help due to my lack of love for the ArcSabers. I'm more of a Armortec/Woven/Kblade kind of guy. I mean, maybe you should just stick with your old racquets. Those might work for you better than having to change your whole foundation.

yeah, I'm an armortec / muscle power type player and my arc10 messes me up! I'm giving it a couple more full days of play before it goes into extended back up collectors storage~

The Arc7 is actually even balance.

that's what's troubling me though, everyone says it's even balance or head light but mine feels heavy and has a bp of 305. is that normal?

You may have to take in consideration that the rating is based most likely on the racket itself (frame + original grip, bascially new) as it came off the production line.

String, overgrip and other things will change this preception.

yes i know. I thought my heavier replacement grip would make up for the added weight of the strings. is there anyway to make it quicker without adding too much weight?

To the extent of my knowledge, you can't really change balance without changing weight. Weight offsets balance so, I guess you could try to borrow another person's Arc 7 to see if you have the same problem. Maybe yours was glitched during the manufacture. I don't know.

There is a range of balances a racquet can have...my AT900T 4U is 325mm. I find the ARC stuff light in general.

Wow, really? Can you order the racquets at different balance points then? I'd love to try the "defensive" racquets with a head heavy setting.

Nope. Just in production line, the balance ranges but they should be within a certain tolerence. Therefore it would vary in the batches.
