The match of the day is the one between Hong Kong and Japan. They are fighting to stay in the top group. I wonder if we will see ZM/WZ playing WD again. The Japanese WD team is pretty good.

I'm afraid it is unlikely to happen since INA has a slight edge on both WS and MS. And 50:50 for both MD and XD.

.....same for MAS. If KKK/TBH and WMC played like they did yesterday , then we are in for a treat. My prediction -

XD - CHN 70 : 30 MAS
MS - 50:50
MD - 50:50
WS - CHN 60 :40 MAS (Dun forget WMC's dragon slaying feats before) :D
WD - CHN 60 : 40 MAS

....so if MAS were to clinch it, MS, MD and WS got to deliver like they did yesterday :). Otherwise, it will be a 5 -0 win for CHN..:(

Definitely agree. Our path to victory is through MD, WS, and MS. WD and XD not TOTALLY out of the game though... ;););)

Hahaha ... Aren't most of us still thinking of the big matches to be played tomorrow?

Hope that BCers from countries playing today can come in the show support for their teams.

Just checked into the hotel and met fastdrop, our estwhile, ahem, team official of the Philippines. But now things aren't looking good for them, down 0-2 to Portugal.

But Singapore's new prodigy, Ashton Chen is pretty good, almost like Tanongsak. Good mobility and brain.

Singles to Portugal was to be expected and all doubles to Philppines (hopefully).

as i said before for MAS to get into the final they have to score 3 points from MD, MS & WS. of course there is a chance, as in ZERO. they will be doing extremely well if they can get 1 point out of them 3!

It seems the Germans are bent on losing their shirt everytime they win .....

Yup, no wonder someone made out with Xu Huaiwen's shirt in last year's Thomas/Uber finals.

Thais return to the top fold with a comprehensive victory over th Russians.

Time to see some cute Japanese stuff in 1 hours time, meanwhile I need to do some snacking because dinner will be horribly late.

Come to think of it, maybe the cutie Reiko will not be able to feature in the match after all, if all is decided in the 1st 4 matches.

all players finished their "on court warm up", and referee is testing the shuttle cock in court four...looks like Kenneth Jonassen do the honour to serve the cock while referee is watching...

KJ finished his task, and sit beside Finn Traerup-Hansen. Only two of them sit on Denmark bench, while England team are complete and enjoy some snacks and fruits...

as i said before for MAS to get into the final they have to score 3 points from MD, MS & WS. of course there is a chance, as in ZERO. they will be doing extremely well if they can get 1 point out of them 3!

Hmmm, werent you the one who said it's possible for HK to beat Msia, citing scores of reasons? If you can say that, then others also........:p

Not necessarily the point must come from WS, there's also XD, if it's played early, depends on order of play & who Msia field - as either WPT or KKK will need to do double duty. Of course, of course, the expectation is Msia to lose 0-3 or 1-3, hopefully to get 1 pt thru MD, China's weakest dept.

Grant you that if MAS going to score a point that most likely will be from the MD. Not quite sure about the head-to-head between FHY/CY and KKK/TBH but the last time I watched the Chinese pair played they haven’t lost a single game on route to become the AE champion. As for the XD, you’re having a laugh to hope for a point against HHB/YY!

The last time KKK/TBH beat Fu/Cai was just 2 months ago, 2009 Swiss SS, semi I think, very interesting match. There'll be no pressure on Msian players tomm, so..... The MS, dunno why, this LD take it easy or what, during Team events he tend to lose more to LCW as seen in Sudirman 2007 & TC 2008.

XD : Well... KKK/WPT just almost beat the OG gold medalist in the tie with Korea, and KKK/WPT havent been partnering lately, so nobody knows their standard. To me, LYD/LHJ is better than He Hanbin /YY, at least by half level.
As for Msia, Fairuz is blur2, that's why they lost to the Danes yesterday. I would prefer the gusty Razif Latif but they decided to bring the seniors instead.
You sure China will field He hanbin/ Yu Yang, not Xie/Zhang Yawen or Zheng Bo/Ma Jin? WD is just before XD if follow current format, then WD will be some other pair, not that it'll make much difference given that CEH seems still havent recover from back injury.;);)

if an MD/WD player also play XD it becomes XD-MS-MD-WS-WD

Since it's quiet in here, we can discuss order of play. Actually ah, for Msia, all 3 group ties vs Korea, HK, Denmark the order is XD, MS, MD, WS, WD cos WPT playing XD, WD in all 3, KKK played XD, MD in the tie vs Korea.
So, the order of play tomm depends on who Rexy puts in XD, dont think he'll put KKK AND WPT again, too taxing for both. - Fairuz/WPT,Fairuz/NHL, KKK/NHL. Or if Rexy is really daring, do some weird pairing like HK did with Zhou Mi/Wang Chen, hehe. :p:p

I don't think the numbers of players will make any difference. Btw, our target is just SF. From what I read, Rashid seems to be very contented with the first SF appearance.

Yes. Complaints about the number of players should be done earlier, not now. It won't make any difference. If the target is semifinal, they'd made it with this very amount of players. So, mission accomplished.
I'd be happy if the players had the tendency to surprise themselves, and us.
China vs Malaysia - I can't wait for the good games. ;)

1) Never mind, my bro, next time, the coaches will have reason to say "Must bring more, see in 2009, Julia injured, CEH injured.":D
2) And the singles coach next edition better name 3 WS in the list, just in case.

3) Actually ah, WPT did double duty for 3 ties, without NHL playing. They should have replaced CEH earlier, finally I get to see NHL play WD with WPT, if they get to play lah.:p

I wonder why Danes conceded to WS. Now it's 2-2 and WD will determine who wins.

2 WS injured one after another? That's would be disaster.

A bit late :p but it was a knee injury. Haven't completely watched the videos yet so don't know if it was mentioned. Didn't think so during the WD http://l.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/76.gif.
