Starting off with 3 BD in QF, Msia end with only Ow/Yew going thru to Semi. Korea, Thailand, Indonesia each have a pair in Semi, very muhibbah.

PBSI youth team officials & coaches... Training a la soldier, but never send them to real battlefield, no good. :(
Hopefully Pak Djoko will take serious approach on this. Although I doubt it.
His hands are surely full of this latest stupid terrorist attack.

For tomorrow, I hope:
Febby can progress into final. It might be a little tough for Ana, but it's not impossible.
BS, XD, and GS...ah, kaput already.
The remaining Pelatnas rep., Angga/Rendy can beat the THA pair.

Comon, INA boys & gals, you can do it!

Quite disappointed that Ulin/Berry lost in rubber-set to the top-seed  Nevertheless, INA still has a rep in BD, with Angga Pratama/Yohanes Rendy Sugiarto facing Nitiphon Phuangphuapet/Tin D. Caballes in the SF tomorrow. I hope they can beat the THA pair for a place in the Final.

Realistically, Febby Angguni also has a good chance of progressing to the Final. As for Ana Rovita, just play your best....you have exceeded our expectation in progressing to the SF!

for those that surprise ratchanok lost,i can just tell u,her stamina gauge maybe just left 20% in that ws match, after that,1% left(to walk of court:p)

well... 2day matches alots of surprises.

Most of the seeded players in the GS lost and some of the favourite are outof the tournament. Actually this AJC standard are slightly lower than the past two years. Maybe China and Korea did not send their best.

Lets look at the tournament by country.

Japan. Started well during the team event but most of the players could not continue with the pace. Their top players in GS,BS, and BD lost.

Korea. Well missing out on their top player who are not here. Perforrmance was below expectation.

India. An Improved team but still a long way to go.

Vietnam. Same as India.

China. Nothing exciting about this batch of players. Hope to see better quality at WJC.

Thailand.Too much is expected of their top 3 girls. Ratchanok is good but lets wait for another 2 years and we will see..

Taiwan. An improved group but still not there yet.

Singapore. Still very much the same.have to depend on import and this year they are not strong compared to last year.

Indonesia. Surprise... Surprise.not doing well in team but better in individual.

Malaysia. As a Host... they are always better prepared at the Team Events.
Should have learned from the mistake 2007. Never over TAX on core players. Its is difficult to peak twice. This time the BS proved to be better than BD. The Girls are not better than the 2007. There are lackof quality in the MX and GD. GS has to be groomed.

Ya, I can testify to that. I was seated just next to the THA players and both ratchanok and also pisit were pumped out. Pisit was even seen almost vomiting after his tough 3 setter with Iskandar. I think he could have given Iskandar a better fight if he was fresh.

I can understand that coaches want to give the players all the match exposure they can [ this applies to almost all the teams] but it ruined their chances of winning or progressing to the finals.

I think if you mean this year's batch playing at the current AJC, all except perhaps one (Chen), are locals, not imports. That's why they are so weak! But it is good exposure for them. :D

how u think about tomorow match?
I'm a terrible prediction maker. That' why I never play PAW, m'friend.:D
Don't dare to predict INA juniors. Still very yoyo-ing.;)
Even if they play well today, there's no guarantee they will play well tomorrow.
I remember uncle Hau-ge say that before. :p
Example? See JPN squad. Performed very well in team event. However, all bungkus before SF in individual matches.

I can only say, "May the best win. I hope the best tomorrow will be INA players."

Besides, if INA players win, can't be really proud, I think. CHN is very generous this time. Didn't send their best team...:o
They even send LYB's son only to have some sight-seeing in Petronas Tower.

BTW, congrats for 9000th posts. :)

Indonesia's officials didn't assemble the team correctly. They should have known that Febby Angguni just recovered from being sick (not a fatal sickness, but enough to reduce her abilities in the 1st week)... they should have played Ana Rovita instead... While in the BD, they should have used Ullin-Berry much more...

Now in the 2nd week, Febby can play better as she has recovered pretty well...

well,about this match
i have high expectation and i had record the 1st and 2nd set,but it turn out to be disapointment.
ow/yew play bad in 1st set but ullin/berry play worse
ullin/berry play bad in 2nd set but ow/yew play worse
finally,we see some well contested rally in 3rd set,but that just before interval:(,after that,it become a onesided match, not because ow/yew is good, but ullin/berry hardly do anything right.:(
hope they can meet again in wjc and play their(both pair) true ability out to entertain the crowd.

for ramdam vs iskandar, this is a 50-50 match.
attack versus defence,i think ramdam will have a slight advantage if iskandar cant find his touch and ramdam can finish in 2 set.

tian hou wei vs syawal
both have some small injury,if zulfadli can almost upset him,i cant see why syawal cant do so?hopefully coach know how to do and we can have a all mas ms final. dont be too confident, syawal.

it will be a tough match for febby and i believe the chinese taipei player will advance.

it is ana rovita match to lose,i think chen xiao jia use more energy to shout instead of returning the birdie. ina coach should know what to do:cool:

the final of md should be between korea and thailand, proof me wrong please(mas and ina pair)
yew/ow never play like top seed and they had been struggle since team event:cool:
the thailand pair is a good one, watch out,ina

mas and thai have a mision to kick china out of wd final.
it will be tough one,and the chance is like 45-55
hope both pair can really do something againt the 2nd layer player.

as same as wd
hopefully thailand and india can win
a 45-55 match.

Except for MAS's MS and MD, who were both seeded #1, all the other seeds fell by the wayside. Let's hope they warrant their rankings by being crowned champions in tomorrow's finals. Whilst CHN have the most number of finalists, none of them are seeded. Now future organizers should pay greater attention to CHN players to accord them the respect they deserve.

Indeed CHN are assured of the XD and WD titles and will challenge the MS and WS. Surprisingly they have been knocked out in the MD. Even then CHN have shown they have the talent for more championships to come and the other countries still have some way to catch up.

So the finalists for tomorrow are:

XD - CHN v CHN (Lu Kai/Bao Yixin v Liu Peixuan/Xia Huan)
WS - CHN v TPE (Chen Xiaojia v Tai Tsu Ying)
MS - MAS v CHN (Zainuddin Iskandar Zulkarnain (1) v Tian Houwei)
MD - MAS v INA (Yew Hong Kheng/Ow Yao Han (1) v Pratama Angga/Sugiarto Yohanes Rendy
WD - CHN v CHN (Xia Huan/Tan Jinhua v Luo Ying/Luo Yu)

Xia Huan will end up being the most bemedaled player with two golds if she wins the XD and the WD, or at least one gold and a silver, or two silvers at the worst.

And although both INA and TPE did not fare too well in the mixed team events, at least they fared much better in the individual events by having a finalist each in MD and WS respectively. It will be good if both win their respective events tomorrow.

It must have been a great disappointment to THA for not winning a slot in the finals.

for ramdam vs iskandar, this is a 50-50 match.
attack versus defence,i think ramdam will have a slight advantage if iskandar cant find his touch and ramdam can finish in 2 set.

turn out to be ramdam cant find his guard:p

tian hou wei vs syawal
both have some small injury,if zulfadli can almost upset him,i cant see why syawal cant do so?hopefully coach know how to do and we can have a all mas ms final. dont be too confident, syawal.

syawal didnt live up the expectation, even the sun chen hua said he play badly:(

it will be a tough match for febby and i believe the chinese taipei player will advance.

and i appear to be correct, fighting spirit alone is not enough, skill and technique wise, tai win;)

it is ana rovita match to lose,i think chen xiao jia use more energy to shout instead of returning the birdie. ina coach should know what to do:cool:

finally,i did impress with chen xiao jia:cool:
she was just sooooooooooo extremely lucky:rolleyes:
her opponent did more than 15 unforce error in 1st set(and u see the score, she cant even take advantage:rolleyes:)
and she did perform well in 2nd set,but without opponent unforce error,i dont think she can score so much.

the final of md should be between korea and thailand, proof me wrong please(mas and ina pair)
yew/ow never play like top seed and they had been struggle since team event:cool:
the thailand pair is a good one, watch out,ina

and yes, they did play like 1st seed in 1st and 3rd set,2nd set was a accident as yew suffer a small injury and then they just score one point since that.in 3rd set.yew did bring out his best.
congrates for ina,we will meet in final.

mas and thai have a mision to kick china out of wd final.
it will be tough one,and the chance is like 45-55
hope both pair can really do something againt the 2nd layer player.

u had tried ur best pei jing, dont cry,my heart is breaking:p
learn from defeat and u will be greater.
both pair had the ability to beat china but end up with a disapointment.

as same as xd
hopefully thailand and india can win
a 45-55 match.

congrates to china,thats all i gonna say:p

If you have to ask means you dont wear glasses.
Classy or serious depends on what type of specs the guy is wearing. There're the fashionable type that makes one look classy - Taiwan MD Chen HL @ Harry Potter's specs make him look ok classy. Then there's the square black rim ah beng or uncle looking type. :D:D

- Hmm, I can already imagine how Choi looks like. At the same time, I can also imagine how CHL might look like in one of those black, square frame ah beng or uncle type specs..;)

..no ler, i'm speaking on behalf of the rest of the clueless BCers who wonder who da heck is who??...Cute girlz and guyz?? Sure, i'm speaking of the rest of the hot-blooded male & female BCers...;)

Back to Chen, if she makes less mistakes that means she has mastered her strokes better than others. If her opponents make more mistakes that could mean her opponents have not practised enough to come close to 100% accuracy or they just don't have better match temperament than Chen. ;)

So making less mistakes should be an important goal of every player as each mistake costs one point. :p

both have some small injury,if zulfadli can almost upset him,i cant see why syawal cant do so?hopefully coach know how to do and we can have a all mas ms final. dont be too confident, syawal.

syawal didnt live up the expectation, even the sun chen hua said he play badly

WRONG

it will be a tough match for febby and i believe the chinese taipei player will advance.

and i appear to be correct, fighting spirit alone is not enough, skill and technique wise, tai win

RIGHT

it is ana rovita match to lose,i think chen xiao jia use more energy to shout instead of returning the birdie. ina coach should know what to do

WRONG

finally,i did impress with chen xiao jia
she was just sooooooooooo extremely lucky
her opponent did more than 15 unforce error in 1st set(and u see the score, she cant even take advantage)
and she did perform well in 2nd set,but without opponent unforce error,i dont think she can score so much.

WRONG

the final of md should be between korea and thailand, proof me wrong please(mas and ina pair)

WRONG

yew/ow never play like top seed and they had been struggle since team event
the thailand pair is a good one, watch out,ina

WRONG

and yes, they did play like 1st seed in 1st and 3rd set,2nd set was a accident as yew suffer a small injury and then they just score one point since that.in 3rd set.yew did bring out his best.
congrates for ina,we will meet in final.

mas and thai have a mision to kick china out of wd final.
it will be tough one,and the chance is like 45-55
hope both pair can really do something againt the 2nd layer player.

u had tried ur best pei jing, dont cry,my heart is breaking
learn from defeat and u will be greater.
both pair had the ability to beat china but end up with a disapointment.

as same as xd
hopefully thailand and india can win
a 45-55 match.

WRONG

congrates to china, thats all i gonna say
didnt see much about this 2 matches

PARTLY WRONG AS CHN WAS KNOCKED OUT IN MD

Sorry limsy, looks like you were awfully wrong in most of your predictions. Now MAS must really play hard to win the MS and MD titles. What is your prediction of the finals? :D;)

Exactly, Loh...........making less mistakes on court compared to their opponents have shown the stability of one player on court. In NSS u make 1 mistake less compared to ur opponent means 1 point gain for u and 1 point lost by ur opponent........so its very important to be stable on court, u dont have to be fansy with ur shots, u just have to be stable, cool and calm thru the whole match......than ur can be a winner..........:D:D

I believe PBSI will repare better in WJC,

This is 1st test of Pratama players after 3 months in "Army" Training, and to be more stronger :

Add the "new bullet" in BD, Didit Juang/Seiko
Add the "Young Gun" in BS, Riyanto Subagja
Stronger in GS, Febby Angguni in health condition (she is in illnes recovery this week) and Rena Suwarno get well soon from her injury.

The same thing happened in 2007, not exactly surprising. And the 2007 team was better than this year, both China & Msia. If Msia win is lucky, when China win is not lucky? It goes both ways.:p
And we didnt say Indonesia won the BD as lucky cos Msia's Yew was injured. Each player/pair did well to win, giving credit due to the winners, all the events.

I really suspect coach advice and after game analysis play a major factor in the transformation of china players' performances agaisnt their opponents. But the advice can only be effective if the players have the qualities to apply it in the game and they proved they can.

Also we place too high the expectation on Malaysia's players after they won the team event. Now we are back to reality. China team is still the big brother even though they only sent their second string players. Sigh!!!!!

I really suspect coach advice and after game analysis play a major factor in the transformation of china players' performances agaisnt their opponents. But the advice can only be effective if the players have the qualities to apply it in the game and they proved they can.

But if you are selected in the powerhouse Chinese team, you should have certain qualities to compete.

I think it's the same as Denmark dominating European juniors competition as I watched live stream earlier this year. I can see their opponents are more talented, but in the end DEN won it all.

Unexpectedly, Angga Pratama/Yohanes Rendy Sugiarto beat the MAS top-seeded pair in straight-sets to win the Asian Junior Championships title  It was surprising because Angga/Rendy was never paired up together. Angga Pratama's regular partner was Kevin Alexander, while Yohanes Rendy Sugiarto used to partner Ryan Agung Saputra in the WJC last year. Rendy/Ryan lost to the eventual WJC champion Mak Hee Chun/Teo Kok Siang in the QF.

We will have to see what other KOR (and probably CHN) pairs are in store in the WJC. But if the present Asian countries fielded their best lineup in BD, then, INA has a good chance of winning the WJC as well later this year, with Angga/Rendy and also Mohd Ulinnuha/Berry Angriawan.

Oh...Rendy has also moved to be under PB Djarum as well.

Chen Xiao Jia wins in two straight sets in identical scores: 21:13.

Now could anyone explain the possible reasons why CXJ could lose to TJY earlier and as a result gifted the team title event to Malaysia?

..to see how speechless our limsy will be, once he's back posting in BC..;)

This result makes limsy....speechless........:D:D...

okok,u all so exciting
i give u all some figure and fact
chen xiao jia only won 2 rally and 19 points is from opponent unforce error in 1st set(dont believe?up to u)
she only won 11 rally by herself throughout the match and 31 is from opponent unforce error.
so,judge by urself.
throughout the tournament,i dont think the point score by herself can win 3 match(126 points).from team event to individual, maybe less,2?
maybe she won the national junior championship by this kind of performance:cool:
opponent is feared by her shout(joke):p
btw,she shout less today, maybe she did read what i say:p
keep her in the squad for wjc, coach
everyone will pleased to meet her:)

Well isn't it a surprise that CHN did not win the mixed team title when they swept all the individual titles except the MD. And this is supposed to be not their best team.

And it took a CHN v CHN in the WD to produce something of a fight that lasted 50 mins. It was a stroll in the park for CHN's Chen Xiaojia to convincingly eliminate TPE's Tai Tsu Ying in both games of 13 points in 35 min despite an earlier prediction that Tai is so good that it will be the other way round. Maybe Chen won again because her opponent made many, many unforced errors.:D

And MAS two No.1 seeds in MD and MS were both extinguished by 'unseeded' players, Iskandar having the brunt of if when he lost in straight games in just 25 min to CHN's Tian Houwei.

Somehow I had the pre-match feeling that INA's Angga and Rendy would prevail in the MD and they did in the most convincing fashion giving away only15 points and 16 points respectively to MAS's top MD pair of Yong Kheng and Yao Han in their straight games match.

What can I say? CHN is just hard to beat ... and for a very long time to come too. Wait a minute ... maybe we should wait for the World Junior Championships ... maybe badminton will not be dropped from the Olympics ...:p;):D

why can't the game went into a deuce? Even Wang Yihan also did before. She was leading for more than 10 points and most of the points were come from the opponent's mistakes. She also being forced to a deuce, why can't CXJ? I think not only these two players encounter this problem before, perhaps some other famous national players also faced this problem before. I didn't mean what, I only feel that you have prejudice against CXJ.

I was hoping that Ulin/Berry could win AJC, but it turns out that Angga/Rendy did it...in style too (never losing a single set). Notice that only the BD pairs were the ones who always deliver in the team-events too....

Given the lack of titles by the senior squad and the QF exit by the juniors early this week, one title in BD today is very very much welcomed by INA fans!

Not surprising at all as most of the doubles pairs were split up again after the AJC or WJC  Markis Kido/Liliyana Natsir was the 2002 AJC Champions....yet...Markis Kido ended up not playing in the Mixed anymore after the junior days.

I believe the other GD pair who won the 2007 AJC, Richie Puspita Dili/Debby Susanto were scratch pairs too....as Richi is now concentrating in the Mixed, while Debby is currently paired with Pia Bernadet Zebadiah (after a brief stint with Komala Dewi last year).
