..from what i received as of today (from the organizer), the list of players shown @ tournamentsoftware.com is a partial list/not complete. Currently it's showing 97 players, but there should be around 150 players registered.
As for Lauren Todt participating, the last time i got in touch with her she mentioned that she's going to play (before heading back to Denmark, after the U.S. Open, to continue her Danish League action).
Also, hopefully Holvy DePauw will come and participate.
Stay tuned til Friday/Saturday for another update...and cross your fingers there won't be any further withdrawals..
U.S. Open tourney info is up @ tournamentsoftware:

CantSmashThis 06-12-2009, 08:34 PM Ah, I could've confirmed w/ Lauren if I read this sooner, I saw her at Smash City with her mom a few days ago.
CLELY 06-22-2009, 01:22 AM After absent in last three SS tourneys, Tine will participate this GP. Absolutely she's overwhelming favourite to win WS title.
Zabee 06-22-2009, 08:57 AM amy pict of Lee H L ?? haven't see this person compete before
ctjcad 06-22-2009, 04:16 PM ..under '2008 U.S. Open'. His pics and videos should be aplenty.;)
Qidong 06-22-2009, 06:57 PM After absent in last three SS tourneys, Tine will participate this GP. Absolutely she's overwhelming favourite to win WS title.
Look at the WS fields, I doubt if any one can get more than 10 pts against her. Same as Taufik, every match will be 21-3 21-4.... :)
george@chongwei 06-23-2009, 03:08 AM After absent in last three SS tourneys, Tine will participate this GP. Absolutely she's overwhelming favourite to win WS title.
tine rasmussen will participate in this tournament?:)
Zabee 06-23-2009, 08:10 AM wow Tine will play there ......

Taufik plays three set matches lot of times. So may be he will play some close matches.
CantSmashThis 06-25-2009, 10:53 PM Tine isn't participating.
ctjcad 06-26-2009, 12:12 AM ..that'll even out the WS playing field even more...
ctjcad 06-29-2009, 04:05 AM ..with abt 1 week to go, here are the latest withdrawals:
- Tine Rasmussen (DEN). Apparently she withdrew 2 days before the deadline. Don't know the reason.
- Gao Ling & Wei Yili (CHN) citing H1N1 flu scare as the probable "excuse"..
- Ashton Chen & Derek Wong (SIN) also citing H1n1 flu scare as the probably "excuse"..
george@chongwei 06-29-2009, 04:08 AM H1N1 flu has been pretty bad..even in my area here nowadays:(
ctjcad 06-29-2009, 04:11 AM ..i'm still eating my KFC, El Pollo Loco..
george@chongwei 06-29-2009, 04:13 AM i thought usa has been very bad too?
nothing wrong with KFC for sure:p
ctjcad 06-29-2009, 04:18 AM ..but it is also a big country. However, the percentage affected is probably too small; last heard abt.............20 cases. 20 people out of 300 million+ is only .006% of the population.
Oh, sorry, kept thinking of the bird flu. I'm still chowing down on my BBQ Char Siu Pork & Tony Roma's Pork Rib dishes...mmm..
Ants0600 06-29-2009, 05:37 AM Hey, everyone,
Just want to chit-chat,
is it only me or are there anybody else
thing that US Open is Indonesian badders reunion party?
Bcoz I found these players' name are like Indonesians' (but representing USA).
[INA] Taufik Hidayat [1]
[USA] Ricky Rachmat
[USA] Thomas Wijaya
[USA] Andrew Susanto
[USA] Arnold Setiadi
[USA] Nicholas Jinadasa
[USA] Nicholas Hardi
[DEN] Agus Wiyaja (is it Agus Wijaya????)
[USA] Imam Darmawan
[USA] Chandra Kowi
[USA] Mona Santoso
etc :D
ctjcad 06-29-2009, 03:12 PM - Nick Jinadasa's surname might sound like a Malay/Indo name, but he is neither one of those.;)
- Is Taufik representing USA now??
- Yes, it's Wijaya. Not Wiyaja.
- Indonesia badders reunion party?? Hmm, some of them are much younger than others. Some don't even know each other/haven't met each other.
- There's also another INA player, Reni Herlina (hopefully she hasn't withdrawn).
- You forgot to list the other INA greats: Tony Gunawan, Rudy Gunawan (no relation to Tony), Halim Haryanto.
- Other Indonesians you didn't list: Claudia Hardi, Steven Jonatan, Ignatius Rusli (used to coach @ OCBC), Dalery & David Riwu, Hendry Ranawijaya, Tiffany Prajudha (used to play up north in NorCal but now playing for UCI), Jamie Subandhi..
ctjcad 07-01-2009, 02:30 AM ..got another confirmation withdrawal:
Dicky Palyama will not come because of illness. That leaves Taufik as the sole remaining main draw for this tourney...Hope he won't withdraw at the last minute...:p

that means taufik will be having quarantine for a week too after the usa open?
will this affect his preparation for the WC?
Zabee 07-06-2009, 08:36 AM the US is close to Mexico so is common action taken by the respected Minisirty of Health...

If that's the case, all players from US, Mexico and central America playing in WC or other tournaments need to arrive 1 week earlier so to be quarantined? :)
