XD R32
Nova Widianto/Liliyana Natsir [1] vs Chen Hung-Ling/Chou Chia-Chi -- Nova/Butet should be able to defat the TWN pair, but from tomorrow onwards, it will be tough matches.

Devin Lahardi/Lita Nurlita vs Chris Adcocok/Gabrielle White -- ditto for Devin/Lita, whom I heard have improved a lot

WS R32
Adriyanti Firdasari vs Kim Moon Hi -- a tough opener for Firda. She should have a slight edge.

MS R32
Arvind Bhat vs Sony Dwi Kuncoro [4] -- Sony should progress.

Gong Weijie vs Simon Santoso [8] -- Simon has drawn the most difficult match in terms of facing a qualifier. He has a slight edge, given his ranking and experience, but, Gong can beat him.

WD R32
Nitya Krishinda Maheswari/Greysia Polii vs Kim Mi Young/Jang Ye Na -- hopefully, with Grace's experience, INA's sole WD pair can at least progress to R16.

MD R16
Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan [1] vs Michael Fuchs/Ingo Kindervater -- Kido/Hendra draw the GER pair for two times in a row. They should progress to at least QF.

Jurrit de Ruitter/Jurgen Wouters vs Rian Sukmawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki -- I am pretty sure Rian/Yoke can record their first victory this year.

Although I expect all INA players to progress to R16, however, there's a high possibility that Simon Santoso and Adriyanti Firdasari could lose today.

As expected, Nova Widianto/Liliyana Natsir completed their R32 match comfortably: 21-8, 21-18 in just 17 mins. Up next should be their bogey pair Anthony Clark/Donna Kellogg.

The first upset of the day goes to the Polish XD pair of Robert Mateusiak/Nadiezda Kostiuczyk as they beat the 7th-seed Xu Chen/Zhao Yunlei in straight-sets: 21-14, 21-18. Nova/Butet might face this pair in the QF.

an even shakier performance by DevLin in the 2nd game lead to british pair's victory and force them to rubber set...

Devin Lahardi/Lita Nurlita have finally beaten Chris Adcock/Gabrielle White in 3-sets: 22-20, 19-21 (despite leading most of the times), 21-14. An unconvincing performance and I think they will be beaten by Joachim Fischer Nielsen/Christinna Pedersen tomorrow.

INA better rely on the upcoming XD pairs of Akhmad Tantowi/Richi Puspita Dili, Fran Kurniawan/Pia Bernadet Zebadiah and Mohd Rijal/Debby Susanto.

Heavy casualties for KOR in XD.....and as usual, only Lee Yong Dae/Lee Hyo Jung managed to progress to R16. The All-England runner-up Ko Sung Hyun/Ha Jung Eun lost to Thomas Laybourn/Kamilla Rytter-Juhl. Yoo Yeon Seong/Kim Min Jung also lost surprisingly to Ruud Bosch/Paulien Van Dooremalen, while Han Sang Hoon/Jang Ye Na lost to Danny Bawa Chrisnanta/Yao Lei.

Bye2 Lu Lan as Fu Ming Tian beat her in 3-sets: 8-21, 21-9, 21-19.

Meanwhile, Zhang Beiwen is also in a good-shape to create the second upset in WS as she leads 16-12 in the rubber-set.

With Lu Lan (and probably Wang Lin) gone from the first half of the draw, Zhou Mi should reach the Final.

So far so good for INA as Sony Dwi Kuncoro, Simon Santoso (he received a WO) and Adriyanti Firdasari all progress to the next round.

It will be:
Hsieh Yu-Hsing vs Sony Dwi Kuncoro [4]
Boonsak Ponsana vs Simon Santoso

and
Saina Nehwal [6] vs Adriyanti Firdasari

What..? He is going to play in WC......? He has to improve his fitness badly....

If he could iimprove his fitness,...he could go far........only he is a lazy type of player..............i think....:D:D

Nope, he is not lazy type of player. And he has beaten Hsieh before, without problems. DUnno what's wrong with him & the other players in Spore SS, retire lah, walkover lah, normal strong one lose lah (Xu Chen/Zhao Yunlei ), got some bug maybe :p.

If not, LTS would not have qualified for WC (top 24 WR)- Hafiz also could not qualify ;). Club players normally dont get to go WC, this year we got the most club players & independents - MD uncles, LTS, KLRC WD.

Remember I mentioned it's LTS last WC? He's not some youngie, and at least better than our yoyo Hafiz lah :D

I was happy that our Singapore team put up a relatively good showing, the best of which was when small build Fu Mingtian defeated her much taller and higher-ranked China opponent Lu Lan (7) , 8-21, 21-9, 21-19 in the WS.

In the adjacent court, Fu's teammate Zhang Beiwen almost beat another better-known China player, Wang Lin (3), just losing out in the end despite leading for most part of the rubber, 21-10, 18-21, 19-21. It must have given WL's coach, Zhang Ning, much anxiety throughout.

Other notable wins from Singapore include brothers Hendri and Hendra's MD defeat of perennial Malaysian veteran opponents Choong TF and Lee WW (8) 21-9, 17-21, 21-10; Shinta Mulia Sari and Yao Lei's convincing WD victory over Japan's pair of Miyuki Maeda and Satoko Suetsuna (6) 21-15, 21-15; Xing Aiying's WS win over Denmark's Nana Brosolat Jensen 2-7, 21-18 and Danny Bawa Chrisnanta and Yao Lei's XD conquer of Korea's Han Sang Hoon and Jang Ye Na 23-21, 21-18.
