1and1giv2 06-10-2009, 09:42 PM does anybody know how to watch these live matches online? BECAUSE NOBODY HAD UPLOADED ANY OF THE MATCHES AT ALL. :(((
badMania 06-10-2009, 10:15 PM XD R16
Nova Widianto/Liliyana Natsir [1] vs Anthony Clark/Donna Kellogg -- a tough match as usual for Nova/Butet....and I will not be surprised at all if they lost (again) to Clark/Kellogg.
Devin Lahardi/Lita Nurlita vs Joachim Fischer-Nielsen/Christinna Pedersen [4] -- it will be quite an upset if Devin/Lita can beat DEN's no 2 XD pair at the moment.
MS R16
Hsieh Yu-Hsing vs Sony Dwi Kuncoro [4] -- Sony struggled to finish off Arvind Bhat yesterday.....nevertheless, he should beat Hsieh.
Boonsak Ponsana vs Simon Santoso [6] -- the 2007 winner is not in the best form, so, Simon better takes this chance well!
WS R16
Saina Nehwal [6] vs Adriyanti Firdasari -- a 50-50 chance for Firda, but Saina has the edge. I still remember watching Saina play in the same tourney 3 years ago and look at her progress right now!
WD R16
Yao Lei/Shinta Mulia Sari vs Nitya Krishinda Maheswari/Greysia Polii -- again, a tough match for Nitya/Grace and I hope they pull it off.
MD R16
Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan [1] vs Kristof Hopp/Johannes Schoettler -- what a close shave for the top-seed yesterday and they will face another GER pair today. They should progress.
Lars Paaske/Jonas Rasmussen [4] vs Rian Sukmawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki -- it will mark a big progress if Rian/Yoke can defeat the veteran Danes.

Normally, there's no live on tv or online until Semi or Finals. If there's any, there'll be the personal digicam of those who went to watch in the stadium, if they recorded any. Takes time to upload since Round 1 just started yesterday.;) Wait till next week.
george@chongwei 06-10-2009, 11:36 PM all the best to mas players later.hehe
mcdreamy 06-10-2009, 11:58 PM does anybody know how to watch these live matches online? BECAUSE NOBODY HAD UPLOADED ANY OF THE MATCHES AT ALL. :(((

Thanks for knocking some sense into me.. I was really looking forward to watch all matches of Hwang Hye Youn. I PRAY SHE GOES ALL THE WAY TO SEMI FINALS AND FINALS. :p
Jonc108 06-11-2009, 12:37 AM Chris was jus posting Hwang Hye Youn TO DEFEAT Wang Lin, not Hwang Hye Youn DEFEAT Wang Lin :D
seemed WL is not in a good form, but believe she's still be able to overcome HHY...
george@chongwei 06-11-2009, 01:03 AM ok, the matches had already started.
just 2 courts only for 2nd round??
fd16n 06-11-2009, 01:10 AM the other 2 courts played in 14.20
george@chongwei 06-11-2009, 01:13 AM haiya, kkk/nhl lost the 1st set.
badMania 06-11-2009, 01:42 AM As expected, Devin/Lita are being pummelled by Fischer-Nielsen/Pedersen.
badMania 06-11-2009, 01:52 AM Devin/Lita lost the first set 9-21. Atrocious stats really with just 1 smash winner vs 7 from the Danes and the rest are unforced errors.
lexluthor1975 06-11-2009, 02:02 AM Devin/Lita lost the first set 9-21. Atrocious stats really with just 1 smash winner vs 7 from the Danes and the rest are unforced errors.
i'm confused with this pair because in Sudirman Cup, they were able to push He Hanbin/Yu Yang to 3 sets. it was a close match....
mcdreamy 06-11-2009, 02:03 AM wow!!! the 2008 OG gold medalist seems not in good form too......
speechless about DevLit.... i already predict the result....... can they prove me wrong???
mcdreamy 06-11-2009, 02:05 AM i'm confused with this pair because in Sudirman Cup, they were able to push He Hanbin/Yu Yang to 3 sets. it was a close match....
they're good, but sometimes they're having lack of consistency........ especially Lita. she makes unforced errors when it comes to critical points......
they need more experience.......
mcdreamy 06-11-2009, 02:12 AM 21 17 for DevLit and 21 18 for NoLyn
lee-lee 06-11-2009, 02:24 AM Yay! KOR XD pair LHJ/LYD advanced to round of 8. I was worried that they would have to play 3 set and tire LHJ before her WD game. But they were resilient and won 4 points straight to make tie at 17-17 and won 22-20 eventually. Surprisingly, all of the points from both pairs was from net, not even 1 from smash..anybody got to watch the game and know what happened? anywayz, great job, LHJ/LYD!
CLELY 06-11-2009, 02:35 AM As predicted, Devin/Lita lost to 4th seed Danish XD Joachim Fischer Nielsen/Christinna Pedersen, 9-21 ; 21-17 ; 10-21.
fd16n 06-11-2009, 02:40 AM All the seeds goes through to XD QF, except 7th seed which lost yesterday to Polish pair
mcdreamy 06-11-2009, 03:06 AM HHY is running out of gas after a very tiring battle against WMC yesterday.......
wang lin is on fire!!!
badMania 06-11-2009, 03:12 AM Nova Widianto/Liliyana Natsir beat their arch-rival Anthony Clark/Donna Kellogg 21-18, 21-11; despite struggling in the first set. They will meet the tricky Polish pair Robert Mateusiak/Nadiezda Kostiuczyk for a place in the last 4. Meanwhile, as expected, Devin Lahardi/Lita Nurlita lost to Joachim Fischer-Nielsen/Christinna Pedersen in rubber-sets.
eaglehelang 06-11-2009, 03:14 AM I was really looking forward to watch all matches of Hwang Hye Youn. I PRAY SHE GOES ALL THE WAY TO SEMI FINALS AND FINALS. :p

mcdreamy 06-11-2009, 03:28 AM here it comes, the match between 2007's MS winner vs 2008's MS runner up.

jasonmarc 06-11-2009, 03:39 AM hate this man. why why why. HHY, i wanted to go down there and support her tmr. but she's done and over with now. OMGGGGGGG.
She lost...! The 1st round match against WMC had burned down all of HHY energy....she is so worn out and tired to continue her journey in SG Open......:(:(

mcdreamy 06-11-2009, 04:44 AM wow..... local girls are really giving hard times for chinese seeded players...... yesterday we saw zhang beiwen and fu ming tian, now we see xing aiying...
mcdreamy 06-11-2009, 04:47 AM also a very interesting tight match between Rian/Yoke vs lars/jonas......
eaglehelang 06-11-2009, 04:54 AM WOW, 1st set went to 30 pts, with the INA winning.
badMania 06-11-2009, 04:55 AM The first set of the MD match went to the distance as Rian/Yoke took it 30-28  I believe this is the first case we witness an INA player/pair reaches 30 pts in one set.
fd16n 06-11-2009, 04:55 AM 30-28 to Rian Yoke

Must you read a dark conspiracy into every failure? :o
Why can't you see Tien Minh's effort as the reason for Chong Wei's loss?
This is hardly the first time Chong Wei has faltered on the big stage.

Conspiracy ? Real stupid ! I mean, if you were thinking to let others beat u as a reason to save stamina for WC, THEN WHY DID YOU EVEN BOTHER SIGNING UP for SIN open? This is bull lol, LCW lost cuz vietnamese player thrashed him, no its ands or buts.Good win for vietnamese player, am proud of him !

Oldhand, cool, cool.:D Depan could be echoing a certain statement that crops up when certain players lose, they say2, so Depan also follow & say2 ;):p.

chris-ccc 06-11-2009, 11:22 AM .
WOW ... What a surprise !!!
There were some BIG upsets in the Womens Singles (in Day 2) yesterday, but in Day 3 today, it's in the Mens Singles where BIGGER upsets were found.
This is good for our World Badminton Tournaments.
Let's get our higher ranked players to work harder, and not to be too complacent in their current World Rankings. ;););)

It was my own feeling right after the game. Actually when the 3rd set score was at 18:20, I felt LCW will lose by two points, in view of the first two sets. Guess what, LCW won the next point, and then NTM won the point after and the match.
dienbienphu 06-11-2009, 11:51 AM juz came back from today's matches...LCW's performace was never enough to beat NTM...LCW was juz hanging in thru out the game...expected him to up the pace in the second set to throw NTM off his feet but that never happened....not the first time playing with NTM, shud hav known better...great match by NTM...Anup Sridhar beat PG convincingly, beat PG at the net and at his game...Clark/Robertson demolished KKK/TBH...the BAM team was really dissapointing...even KLRC's MD pair Gan/Tan managed to do better than their compatriots....Xie Xingfang was rubbish against Ai Goto who would never ever be able to beat XXF, but Goto put up an epic fight.
Imogen Bankier was red carded at the end of a WD match against a Japanese pair...Bankier was trying to show the service judge her take on a fault call
when she accidentally hit a shuttle at one of the japanese lady...umpire was tallying the score and wasnt even lookin at her and gave her a red card due to the crowd reacting to the accidental hit...Donna Kellogg shud hav received the red when she swung her racket at the service judge after a fault called against her...wad a day......

the spotlight will surely be on him after this.
hcpoirot 06-11-2009, 01:16 PM Not a very good day for Malaysian players. They only had 1 MD in QF rounds overall.

Not a very good day for INA as well. Half of the forces are out already.

Yes, but the players that remain in QF are our best players (XD, MD ,WD and MS).

Scores can be misleading.
In G1, I believe LCW underestimated NTM when he had a healthy lead. Then NTM piled on the pressure. Also LCW missed a lot of his smashes, finding the net instead so he became wary of more such mistakes. NTM must have done intensive homework on LCW to win the match of his life.
It's the same with PG's loss to AS. AS's coach knows PG's game very well and AS was able to execute his plan. AS had more trouble playing CHN's QYB who's better than him in every department except netplay. AS wins on confidence. He gets better with each win but I don't think he will get past BP. Boonsak's too crafty for him.

LCW playing so much is bound to lose and NTM is not an easy walkover, can be a giant killer when he is determined and in form, and the score is close. As for your Spore girls, they really put on a show, is it walking tall playing at home or taking a page from your ping pong girls?
