However, in Game 2, KOR did like this:
INA should cheer up a little more.
:)
With this, we can mention the "dominance." can't we?

That's all folks. Bad knees are nothing for a World and Olympic champion. Great game plan.

As the stats say, Kindra can only get the chance for the title when JJS/LYD does not show up in their way.
As I predicted earlier in this thread, Kido made it through; knee problem can't stop him. I knew it.
Enjoy~ :)

So, Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan reach the Final of the Singapore SS after a straight-set victory over Lars Paaske/Jonas Rasmussen 21-12, 21-16. A relatively comfortable match for them, despite the fact that Paaske/Rasmussen have always been a tricky pair to face. The INA pair will face Nathan Robertson/Anthony Clark tomorrow.

A bit of both.
Indonesia had a good tactical plan, Hendra was exellent and Kido was under no pressure.
Both Lars and Jonas took turns making a mess of things, even when they controlled the rallies.

Honestly, we don't need anything more from Kido/Hendra as Kido's knees might mean that this partnership might not even last this year.
However, some of our junior pairs like Mohd Ulinnuha/Berry Angriawan should rise up to the occassion in the next 2-3 years :) They will begin their hunt for WR points next week in the Auckland International 2009 ;)

doesn't sound like their best day - but even though, you have to be playing well to keep them under pressure, so that they cannot get on top of their game again - credit to the INA couple

INA has been a country producing strongest MD players. Yeah, for a couple of years INA seems to have some sleeping period in MD, XD, as well as WD. The world requires for the INA's on-going strength. Cheers, :)

Exactly. Nobody is questioning Lee Yong Dae's talent or brilliance in terms of achievements so far. Nevertheless, nowhere is he dominating as evident from recent records. In fact, Oldhand questioned whether he has become predictable, esp against CHN oppositions in both MD and XD.

..i always thought both Markis & Hendra had the upper hand over JR & LP..Their style of play and their youth are the difference..
Btw, i do think your favorite pair will finally get their long awaited S'pore Open MD title tomorrow, yes, bad knee and all for Markis..;)
With that, JR (and LP), please forgive us for not cheering & giving you support as we promised prior to kwun checking out for the rest of the night...:p

Sorry for the veteran team JR/LP. But they are now quite seniors; no others who had played with them in their age play these days (except the MAS uncles).
Even JJS/LYD could beat them early this year with scores: 21-11, 21-7
Just enjoy~ :)

Despite the "sleeping period", INA still manages to win:
1. World Championships titles in MD and XD in 2007.
2. Beijing Olympics 2008 in MD.
How I wish it will continue in the next 2-3 years ;)

Actually, I noticed that the Denmark uncles have not been in good form (or good whatever) since Sudirman Cup, like that they cant focus throughout. Dunno why, couldnt be age, they're not that old by Europe standards (JE/ML lagi old).
Honestly, we don't need anything more from Kido/Hendra as Kido's knees might mean that this partnership might not even last this year.

Yikess, sure or not ? You keep saying your heros maybe no more together, <sigh>, no fun anymore. Setiawan partnering others no as good snergy.:(
And, ya all, this Spore SS, only WD & MD have the 1st seeds left, the rest somewhere along the line, were overcome by the "seeds fall" trend.:p

What a lovely day for INA. 2 reps in final. Best of luck for them!
It would've been perfect if:
1. NW/LN didn't waste the lead
2. There weren't this 'muka tebal' BCer who constantly making noise by bragging about his (already bungkus in 1st round) favourite's past stats...
The same goes to LYD/LJH, they can only get the chance for the title when ZB/MJ does not show up in their way...

obiously i think that it is too bad that the danish couple lost.. but the reason i asked, was because i did not see the game.. and i wanted to know how it had developed.. not to make the INA pair look bad - there is no doubt that they play well when they are in a SS final ;)

It was one of those rare minimum-effort matches where there were hardly any rallies. Either the serve was too good or bad or the return on serve was too good or bad. 90% of INA MD's efforts working compared to 90% of DEN MD's not working.
One thing about HS/MK. When facing 'non-opponents', they seem to just turn up and play; that's why their first 3 matches went to rubber. When facing 'real opponents' like JR/LP, it seems they prepare their gameplan very clearly and precisely and they deactivate their opponents so they can't even play badminton as they know it. It's an indirect compliment of JR/LP as 'high quality MD'.
Will be interesting to see how they regard ENG MD which gets into XD style mode on and off, confusing their MD opponents.

More shouts of concern from pjswift, instead forcing Koreans into error.
You're right! Only worked for ZM today but that's good enough. Luckily she built up 9 matchpoints by the time she could hardly moved and only had to wait for WL to make an unforced error to close out the match.
But I'm quite surprised that the CHN fans made known their choices, openly rooting for CJ and WL. Good thing is both their preferences lost.
And someone said I should not cheer for TPE MD today just because I supported ENG MD yesterday otherwise I would be considered a double agent!!! Hmmm...So I guess I gotta root for ENG MD tomorrow vs the big INA crowd.
