My prediction for the final matches:
1. Zhang/Zhao Vs Greysia/Nitya - Greysia/Nitya showed a huge progress on their game. But to defeat chinese players here is not an easy task. 65:35 for Zhang/Zhao.
2. Zhou Mi Vs Xie Xingfang - Both players are not young anymore, I believe they desperately want the title. Xie Xingfang has the edge.
3. Kido/Hendra Vs Clark/Robertson - Despite having problem on Kido's knee, Kido/Hendra must be on fire for the final match. 55:45 for INA's pair.
4. Zheng Bo / Ma Jin Vs Xie Zhongbo / Zhang Ya Wen - 60:40 for Zheng Bo / Ma Jin
5. Boonsak Ponsana Vs Bao Chunlai - Match of the day. It is difficult to predict who will win the match. 50:50

For Kido/Hendra, go all out and clinch your first SIN SS title!

Prediction:
1. Zhang/Zhao Vs Greysia/Nitya - China pair to win. But I hope Indonesia pair give their best and fight all out.
2. Zhou Mi Vs Xie Xingfang - Very tough to call. XXF win in three tight sets.
3. Kido/Hendra Vs Clark/Robertson - Indonesia pair to win.
4. Zheng Bo / Ma Jin Vs Xie Zhongbo / Zhang Ya Wen - It depend who win the most when they play each other in training. But maybe XZB/ZYW want it more cause they did not do very well this year.
5. Boonsak Ponsana Vs Bao Chunlai - Second title for BCL this year.

Women's Doubles FINAL
Nitya Krishinda Maheswari/Greysia Polii vs Zhang Yawen/Zhao Tingting [5] -- the Final appearance is a step in the right direction. However, the CHN pair still has a clear edge and I just hope Nitya/Grace can perform their best in their First ever SS Final!
Men's Doubles FINAL
Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan [1] vs Nathan Robertson/Anthony Clark -- INA MD pair always find it awkward to play against Robertson/Clark, probably because of the tendencies of both ENG players to rotate to their mixed positions. Nevertheless, Kido/Hendra should have an edge and hopefully they will win their first Singapore SS title!

It's raining now in Singapore, spoiled my day at the harbour, oops, I mean, beach. But the beach still looks more like a harbour, with jets buzzing around above.
Well, might as well return to Kallang for a quick lunch and finals day.
Anyway, my take on the finals.
MS - Boonsak has the hunger but based on semifinals, Bao is in slightly better shape.
WS - battle of two out of breath finalists. I would give it to Zhou Mi because Xie Xingfang just doesn't look that interested to play.
XD - no comment
WD - Indonesian fairytale journey stops here. Good effort but Nitya needs to come prepared from the opening rally. Took too much time to warm up and get in gear.
MD - Bad knee vs temperamental attitude, I would vote for the knee.

Traditionally, INA MD pairs certainly find it awkward to play against ENG. Kido/Hendra had lost to Clark/Blair in the World Championships 2006. Bona/Ahsan just lost to the same pair Robertson/Clark in the Sudirman Cup.

Many thanks to pjswift and Jen for providing "financial backing" (aka free ticket).
Next stop Jakarta and Gachibowli, Hyderabad.
Kinda disappointed with MD match though, by no means Kido/Setiawan's best efforts.
Boonsak could have done better, even out of gas he could have implemented delaying tactics, otherwise his adoption of tactics usually used by LCW was spot on.
Likewise, INA WD has taken another step forward but there must be equal sharing of responsibilities to make it work better.
WS was a battle between 2 heavily armed but tired ladies, it was obvious the winner has to be more motivated.
I question the results of XD, a spectacular collapse of the more veteran pair while leading comfortably. Conspiracy again?
