IMPORTANT!!:

RULES:

a) Adapted from Suicide Tennis

b) Will be included Men's singles ,Men's doubles and Women's singles(from Qualification OR Round 1) and Women's doubles and Mixed doubles (from QF)
ADDITION : WOMEN'S DOUBLES AND MIXED DOUBLES must be picked by all players in QF to get bonus points(different from stage points).
Win a match: ADD 5Points (Max=10Points if straight set)

c) You have to pick ONE MS, MD and WS for each round starting Qualification or R1. And ONE WD and XD starting from QF.

d) Once you pick someone, YOU CANNOT CHOOSE THEM AGAIN for the rest of the tournament.

e) So, you don't want to waste a pick on Lin Dan or Lee Chong Wei to win in early round matches.

f) Unseeded players (non TOP15) need to QUALIFY to proceed to the MAIN DRAW

g) You CANNOT pick any players who get BYE

h) For the next tournament, TOP 15 players (overall ranking) will enter the MAIN DRAW without enter the qualification stage.

i) If your chosen players WIN, then you will proceed to the next round.

j) If your chosen players LOSE, then your journey will ends in that round.

k) If you forget, are sick, or are unable to reach a computer, it will be treated as a wrong pick, and you will be out of the tournament.

l) As well, your pick must be chosen before the first match has commenced, otherwise it will be considered a wrong pick, and thus you will again, be out of the tournament.

HOWEVER, you can select your BACKUP players in any case if your players suddenly withdrawn from tournament.It should be like this:

BONUS (for WD and XD) : Win = 5pts (not included straight set BONUS,so maximum is 10pts)

Most of qualifiers failed to move into the main draw..
i mentioned that the reason is bcos of the last minute withdrawn,and also there are 3 qualification stages in this tourney..(i also tot there r only Q1 n Q2..) moreover..Q1,Q2,n Q3 is all played in one day so qualifiers didn't have much time to update their players..i also late to update players n sumtimes didn't know who's withdrew n who's not..However,keep on update guys,we're also a player!:D

This is all too confusing.

Firstly, there is no Q3 for MS, unlike for WS and MD. Look at the draw.

Secondly, you mean qualifying points will accumulate together with main round points?

Anyway, I know I am definitely out for MD. So assuming I am ok for MS (after you correct the mistake) and WS, here are my picks.

Also, another word of friendly advice.

If you use terms like R1, R2, it can be confusing. For example, in this tournament, MS has R1, R2, R3, QF and so on. Meanwhile WS has only R1, R2, QF and so on. So, some events have R3 and some don't depending on the size of the draw.

It can be quite confusing if people do all the picks for R1, then R2 and when it comes to R3, some events are in QF and some in R3.

It is better to use terms like R64 (meaning Round of 64), R32, R16, QF, SF, F. So, MS has a R64 whereas WS starts at R32.

The same goes for qualifying rounds. There was a confusion because MS don't have a R3 in the qualifiers whereas WS and MD have. So, instead of calling it R1, R2, R3 etc, you can call it QuaF (qualifying final round), QuaSF, QuaQF. In this tournament, MS starts with QuaSF, while WS and MD start with QuaQF.

These are just suggestions. You can use any names you want as long as the concept is consistent.

To add, it will make your point allocation more accurate as well. If you have points for R1, R2 and R3, then what happens when the WS don't have an R3 which has more points than R2 and R1.

It is more accurate if you use R64, R32, R16. Since the WS don't have an R64 (lowest points by the way), they don't get points for it, but have R32 and R16 points instead, followed by QF, SF and F. Which is more logical.

One other thing, although this suggestion is 50-50. When posters pick players, sometimes they pick it well in advance based on the draw they see. Experienced posters will wait till the last minute because there will be withdrawals and PMDs (Promoted to Main Draw). It seems a bit harsh to let the poster lose that pick due to last-minute conditions. What if a player really did withdraw at the last minute that it was not even reflected in the draw till the match starts?

My suggestion is that if a previously valid pick becomes void due to any reason, then that pick will not lose (i.e. still advance to the next round) but (1) the poster will not get any points for that round and (2) the same player cannot be picked again (due to your existing rule).

Example:
R1 pick Lin Dan
R1 = Lin Dan v Wacha
1. Wacha withdraws last minute - no match. No points for LD, poster can still pick for R2 onwards, but LD cannot be picked anymore.
2. LD withdraws last minute - no match. Same treatment as 1.
3. LD withdraws, replaced by another player - Wacha v other player. Same treatment as 1.
4. Wacha withdraws, replaced by another player - LD v other player. The pick for LD is processed as usual.

When I suggested this, I did not fully understand the rules yet. I thought points were accumulated from each stage. Now that I understand, this suggestion will not work.

However, I still think that the luck factor (that a player withdraws or maybe even retires) should be mitigated. When such unfortunate incidents happen especially in the early stages, it is cruel to the poster. A whole lot of points can be lost. (Take for example the PAW game. If a player withdraws, the pick is invalid and the PAWer can have new picks instead.)

There are various treatments you can use. One way is to still allow the poster to progress, but with points reduced from the final points.

Using the following as reference,

R1... = .45pts
R2... = .70pts
QF... = 105pts
SF... = 140pts
FINAL = 185pts
WON.. = 300pts
Say a player withdraws (or retires) from R1. Based on current rules, the unlucky poster will only get 45 points from the potential 300 points he could get.
To mitigate the situation, allow the poster to progress, but impose a deduction to points. This can be done in one of several different ways. eg.

1. For every such unlucky instances, shift the points downwards.

WON.. = 300pts --> 185
If the poster was unlucky in R1, but still loses in R2, he gets R1 points all the same. And the poster can never get 300pts. Meaning, the poster did not progress from this round (did not take a step upward), but still has a chance for future progression.

2. Take away points earned for that round. If poster was unlucky in R2, take away (R2 - R1) points, ie. 70 - 45 = 25 pts from the final pts.
QF... = 105pts - 25
SF... = 140pts - 25
FINAL = 185pts - 25
WON.. = 300pts - 25
Meaning, even though he did not deserve to lose in that round (he still advances), but he did not deserve the points earned for that round either.

3. Take away a constant amount of points, say 10 or 20 points. May not be the best way, but simplest in execution.

These are merely my suggestions for the future. Whether you plan to use them or not is entirely up to you, because it is your game.
