Uhhhh..... was playing today... for about 5 hours.... during the early part of the game...... i hit my racquet on the ground when stretching for a smash to the sidelines.... didn't hit it hard... just sorta touched it.... but heres what happened.. part of the grommet thingy broke off and now it's on my string ..... the rattling sound is very annoying ;-) How can I get this thing off...? I dunno if I should use sissors.. might cut the string by accident then i'd have to pay for restringing... *Sigh*... or maybe i'll just have to live with the sound until the string breaks... pic below.

nail clipper works just fine. you might need a large one (*ie. for them biggun toe- nails - yuch gross). the better clippers have a beveled edge that helps prevent from cutting into the string.
another method, but bit more gutsy - use an exacto knife or razor blade.
I would suggest you to check out the remaining grommet that is still bonding on the racket head, see if it is completely broken. Because if it is broken, the string directly rub against the racket which might result in racket damege. If it is holding fine in there, you might as well just cut the hanging grommet and save up for the restringing money, if not, you have to cut the string and replace the grommet.
