12.10 Separation of Entries

12.10.1 the first and second ranked entries from any one Member Association shall be drawn by lot in opposite halves of the draw;

12.10.2 the ranking of entries from a Member Association can be amended by the seeding. If this is done a new ranking order is implicitly established and should be used for the purposes of Regulation 12.10.

12.10.3 wherever possible, entries from any one Member Association shall not meet in the first round.

Note: this method of player separation, where it is desired, is recommended for all tournaments conducted at any level of competition.

12.11 For the purposes of Regulation 12.10, a qualifying entry or a pair from two different Member Associations shall be regarded as not coming from any particular Member Association.

We need to be patient a couple more days till the seedings and draws finally out,
But from the recent world rankings, IMO:
It's possible that LCW will clash with LD as early as at QF/SF stage
Barring any withdrawal, injury, major upset at early rounds, or food poisoning and such.

4. Food Poisoning?
5. Injury or upset loss?
6. Drift?
7. Safety?
8. H1N1? (don't know 4 sure bout the pandemy & distribution, though)

Considering the current world rankings for the chinese team being:
i) Chen Jin
ii) Lin Dan
iii) Bao Chun Lai

And that Chen Jin and Lin Dan almost certainly would be put in separate halves, Chen Jin being ranked No.2 overall, would be placed in separate halves by seeding from Lee Chong Wei. Which implies that Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei will be placed in the same halves for the seeding draw!

The only question is which half will Bao Chunlai be placed in...

Its almost certain that LD and LCW will meet before the finals, unless either of them lose to some other player before that happens. :rolleyes:

It is confirmed, LD and LCW will meet each other in the semifinals, barring any upsets.

Let's be realistic: if Lee Chong Wei plays well, he should easily defeat Nguyen Tien Minh, as well as beat his other opponents. But when he comes up against Lin Dan, the odds are frankly against him.

Maybe NTM would be a problem from Lee Chong Wei, but I don't see SDK beating him. Still, I agree with Lin Dan probably being more than he can handle.

It will be a game of speed. LD would want to bring on his '2008 Olympic Finals form'. LCW will put on the 'BRAWN' diffuser to outspeed LD's Ferrari 'KERS' What can be more entertaining ?

In my mind, the KERS would find it hard against the BRAWN diffuser. LCW has also too many gears going into this game.

for big occassion matches, i'm afraid LD's ability to cope with pressure is far better than LCW's. Another win for the chinese is the safe bet.

Ah but that is historical ! LCW is no longer the mentally deficient player. He conquers players now - he has matured mentally ! Should LD have the same belief as you, then it would be his biggest folly.
