Yes yes... Pretty far-fetched I know... :D:D
I notice that recently LYB is praising CJ a lot -- even at the expense of breaking the "invincible" image of LD.
My explanation is that LYB's plan this year is to help CJ get a world champion. LD's job: Eliminate LCW.:cool:
This explains perfectly why CJ was made world No.2, and LD was satisfied at No. 5. ;)

A theory is a proposition that has passed rigorous tests by many methods.
A hypothesis is a proposition that has not yet passed a rigorous test.
Ideally, the title shouldn't be 'A Theory'.
It should be 'A(nother) Conspiracy Theory' :D

So, we are counting LCW out already?
Well, at this stage, I prefer LCW to win the WC this year, as CJ should have a few more years when compare to LCW to be on the peak. LCW needs titles such as this to be counted as a great player. ;)

You forgot CJ's injury problem. He already has serious waist injury as early as 2007 (and it stroke again in 2008 Thomas cup). I doubt CJ has much time.
NO I didn't count LCW out. I just said my guess is that LYB's plan is to let LD eliminate LCW, I didn't say LD will succeed.
In fact, in 2012, unless LD is still in very good shape, he may need to serve as a "helper" to CL. ;)

I agree. Kinda forgot CJ's injury issue as well. It will be a shame if CJ goes out too early due to injury. Whether LD will be a helper for CL, that's too much time in between. CL might have his own gang by then. :D
Needless to say, right now might be LCW's best chance to get a title which really counts in history. If he needs to wait for another year or two (AE, WC, etc) then it will be even harder, consider his own conditions.

If the 'plan' is to gift the title to Chen Jin, why would Lin Dan (be made to) sit out so many tournaments in the run-up to the 2009 World Championships?
In any case, Chen Jin is a very poor bet against Lee Chong Wei.
And, for all we know, Lin Dan might be drawn in Chen Jin's pool.
Also, the WC draw is quite unlike that in the Olympic Games.
The OG draw is thinner and also comprises a lot of lower-rung players who make it in simply because of the geographical representation rules.
If any team has devised a grand strategy to sweep the Championship titles, it's very likely that will end in a lot of grief.
This WC isn't trench warfare.
It's going to be open combat :)

...the only way that plan will work is if Lin Dan is drawn into the same half as LCW. If LinDan is drawn into the same half as Chen Jin, then, one can throw out that "every day" theory..;)
Although, yes, i have a bit of feeling that LinDan's goal is not to win the WC this yr; if it happens, great, if not, great also; at least not one of his priorities for this yr.

- LinDan played for ranking pts only.
- Quite possible.
- True also. LD could, for some reason, end up in the opposite half of LCW's draw..

..and if i recall, in one of the World Championships editions, they had a draw pitting the world's ranked #1 vs. #5 in opposite halves (same scenario as what we have now). Let me go search & double check for that...Not sure if the amended rules have changed that possibility..

No... It's not No.1 and No.5 that matter, it's the following (from cxytdn's post):
12.10.1 the first and second ranked entries from any one Member Association shall be drawn by lot in opposite halves of the draw;
Therefore LD and CJ, as the 1st and 2nd ranked entries from China, shall be drawn in opposite halves of the draw. In other words, LD will be in the same half as LCW.

Waw i LOVE conspiracy theory, LOL
upz sorry for being insensitive ,-P
Here i have another theory (actually i still stick w/ my own old theory):
CJ's win over LD at IO was just a bonus or payback (some may said LD's generousity) from CJ's help at OG
But at forthcoming WC next august, had the DRAWS set a clash between CJ vs LD,
i guess CJ would clear up the way and help LD to fulfill his dream producing hattrick MS Titles RECORD from WC
But whoever get the WC title (from any discipline), as long as still from CHN
The WINNER is and always the great mastermind:
7th times academy award winner (upz kidding, scrat that) Mr. LYB
He also loves RECORDS, no?

There have been rumors about China national badminton team is trying to put Lin Dan down due to his arrogance. Some reporters witnessed Lin Dan punching Ji Xinpeng during one of the team practices because Dan was quite mad with the team arrangement arranged by one of the coaches. And thus, he took it out on poor little Ji. My guess is the higher-ups are not very please about his attitude. Some sources claimed that "Slamming and throwing rackets" has become one of the Lin Dan's trademark moves(happened in practices as well). Again, the coaches are not very fond of this act and thus...
I have to say that all of the above are just some speculations made by the public. Feel free to disprove me, but to be honest I personally don't think China national badminton team is able to do much to Lin Dan seeing he is still the best shuttler out there.

BCL is the plan B. Since he shud be drawn in same half as CJ, just in case CJ's waist injury acts up, he will try and make his way to the final from that half of the draw. :D
Plan C - in case LD gets rid of LCW, then BCL gotta let LD win his 3rd WC :D
Plan D - in case LD fails to stop LCW, then we might see a "break his leg" strategy :D:D:D

Maybe you missed the answer to that theory - which is the ICE Lemon Tea is waiting but there are no drinkers at the cafe (Singapore or KL) :D
The other bit is they can brew us a storm of lemon tea's when I am next in town, which I am not sure is when. It's pathetic that people are obsessive in things not about badminton when talking about Chinese players, is it because people got nothing to criticise the Chinese players' badminton???
Simple, as long as the current WR#1 LCW or any other non-Chinese players could demonstrate they are the realy top player and able to defeat whatever player on their way to claim the championship, the so-called Chinese conspiracy would fail, be irrelevant, and never come to place again... because LYB would be fired if China could no longer win the WC..
so come back to talk about badminton...
how's the recent form of LCW, LD, CJ, TH and PG??? what are they doing in preparation for the WC?? the Chinese team are actually open their training session for the general public to see, anyone go and seen them practicing, and how they performed?

Not good enough? Well, they are not good enough to be the top 3-4 MS in CHN, but surely better than most of the participants during the time. They got locked out of the OGs, simply because the flag they were carrying. Same cases apply to XXF in 04, and Chen Yu for his entire career.

First, that's the rule. Second, XXZ in 04 and CH in 08 are clearly not among the top 3 or 4 players in the world, so they have little chance winning the title anyway. Third, what people mean by "poor CJ", I believe, is that CJ got something he clearly didn't deserve, which is not the case for XXZ and CH.
I agree that there should be no such "quota" but only if people never talk about things like "Will China won the WC", fair now? :D:D
Btw, I can't think of one "World Championship" type tournament (that is, the participating athletes represent his/her country, not him/herself) that does not have such a quota system. Many Brazilian soccer players are much better than the best player in any Asian team, yet they cannot go to the World Cup, because of the "stupid" quota system which said Brazil can only have one team to represent it in the tournament.
Not good enough? Well, they are not good enough to be the top 3-4 MS in CHN, but surely better than most of the participants during the time. They got locked out of the OGs, simply because the flag they were carrying. Same cases apply to XXF in 04, and Chen Yu for his entire career.
Well, no point to drag this into the "limit entry" discussion again.

You all are just thinking too much. NTM of VN is going to take both LCW and LD out once for all.
Now let the real discussion begin :)
