anyone know where the WC09 will be streaming live?? if not... maybe a channel from a program such as sopcast or some other program where u can get free asian channels via internet?

it would be greatly appreciated to share your thoughts & ideas, most of us living in north america despite satillite TV -------STILL-------- don't have access to these kind of events...

I always use cctv5.com.cn but sometimes you have to look for a different network. But they should have the schedule up a week before the event starts.

- CCTV5 is the broadcasting company who will provide the coverage.
- Sopcast (just like TVAnts, PPLive, PPStream, TVUPlayer, UUSee), they're all programs used to watch CCTV5.
- And yes, they're all freeware. Usually i use TVAnts or Sopcast. Once in a while TVUPlayer or PPLive.
- Quality? Hard to tell, i usually look for the smoothest stream available.

I'm presuming CCTV5 is in Chinese, but will there be any English-commentary streams, would you think?

there's tvsplanet.com. Never tried it so I'm not sure if it's gonna work. I'm guessing it's in English.

so what has the smoothest stream possible in your opinion? no vagueness please ^^

..i'd love to be frank with you and i will. So here is my "vague-less" personal take:
- I wish there is, but unfortunately, there is no consistent P2P programs which will deliver the smooothest, clearest, buffer-free or buffer-less stream.
- From my experience, in no particular order, TVAnts, Sopcast and TVUPlayer have delivered the most satisfaction. All 3, IMO, are even steven. However, each one, once in a while, will for some unknown reason(s) bomb on me and i would have to switch to a different program to carry the stream.
- How smooth your stream is depends also on your broadband connection. If you're trying to watch using a slowpoke 56k dial-up modem, then i'm sorry, your stream will have to buffer a lot.

So, in conclusion, install all 3 of those programs, or even other programs and just wait for the show.

I just saw the schedule for CCTV5, it seems like they won't air the matches until the quarter final or something. Anyone know where to watch first round and so on?
