Watch out for local favourite saina nehwal too, as she will the centre of attraction in the eyes of the local crowd here.. hmm, btw, i noticed quite a number of japanese players' matches will be broadcasted live because its on the tv court.. Maybe some japanese tv station have live coverage of tomorrow round of 32 action too?;)

george@chongwei 08-11-2009, 11:03 AM The lucky ones would be boe/morgensen of denmark of course..As they get free tickets to round of 16 after their opponent from austria withdrew..
ctjcad 08-11-2009, 11:12 AM ..with the field of players getting smaller, competition getting tighter & nerves being tested even more but hopefully all those rumors will subside..
yourbestfriend 08-11-2009, 11:25 AM reports are saying that lyb is making plans to buy return tickets back to china....
he said the WC's happen every year and it's not worth risking his players safety
george@chongwei 08-11-2009, 11:29 AM Is this just a rumours or what??:eek::eek::confused:
qczhao 08-11-2009, 11:33 AM CY and FHF haven't even played yet! hope its just a rumour, looking forward to tomorrow....

yourbestfriend 08-11-2009, 11:36 AM ..is a day old..The latest, they are still in the hunt for the titles..
well if that's the case then the WC's won't be boring :D

..the reaction from them if the same type of rumors of terror threats were to circulate in next yr's Asian Games in Guangzhou..I'd like to see if they will still participate or go home??..
yourbestfriend 08-11-2009, 11:58 AM ..the reaction from them if the same type of rumors of terror threats were to circulate in next yr's Asian Games in Guangzhou..I'd like to see if they will still participate or go home??..
lol that would be an interesting situation.
i think that china would take the same precautions as they did during the olympics. as you might recall, during the weeks prior to the beijing olympics there were numerous terrorist threats from various minorities in china, but nothing really came of it and for the most part, the olympics ran pretty smoothly
ctjcad 08-11-2009, 12:11 PM ..i had the same thoughts back in my head prior to my trip to Beijing (for the OG), last yr??..
I kept thinking:
What if i arrive in Beijing and for some unfortunate reason i get blown up in the baddy hall watching the baddy matches? or during my visit to Beijing's Great Wall? or even before i landed my feet on China's soil? or in one of the Chinese markets squeezed in with the many hundreds or thousands of tourists?..
But then, i thought, what da heck. If i get blown up in Beijing, at least i'll die in the land where my ancestors came from..;)

but i guess you run that risk going to any country with a little bit of history when they are hosting such a big event. i'm sure at the olympics in both 2010 and especially 2012 the security will be crazy tough.
ctjcad 08-11-2009, 12:23 PM ..but also how big of an event it is..The bigger it is & the more people there are mean it will definitely invite more easy targets for those distractors/terrorists/trouble-makers..Even during the Atlanta Olympics in the U.S. in 1996, who knew someone (not a foreign terrorist, mind you) would plant a home-made bomb in the middle of a peaceful gathering??..Thank goodness the person forewarned the security personnel of the impending explosion..
But, yeah, there are risks in this type of events. If the organizer and the security personnel have guaranteed and promised that they've done their best, then we just have to trust them....and go with faith..
aulia 08-11-2009, 12:27 PM Well, I have so many matches to cheer on then.:D:D. Until now, no INA's players got defeat. It's pretty cool. But... I'm kinda worried for tomorrow. :o
Bona/Ahsan vs Guo Zendong/Chen Xu.
BoSan pair seeded 7 but it's not guaranteed they will get through easily tomorrow. Hope they proved that they are deserved seeding higher. ;)
Shendy/Meiliana vs MAS WD
I think Shendy/Mel will prevail here. But, this is WC, everything can happen. :D
Taufik Hidayat vs Mathieu
Another warm-up match for Mr.Taufik. I didn't see he will follow BCL's path then. SEMANGAT.:)
Maria Kristin vs Lianne Tan
If she played like her 1st match, she should win this.:)
Sony DK vs Wacha
I don't really know about Wacha. :o. But I think Sony isn't hurried to meet Mrs.Kuncoro. Stay longer sir...;)
Firdasari vs Lu Lan
Tough call. Lu Lan isn't easy meat like Nathalie Deschamps. I hope Firda can spring upset here. PRAY HARD.:D
Greysia/Nitya vs JPN WD
Greysia/Nitya to win.
Simon Santoso vs Derek Wong
Please, don't do like your previous 1st set Simon. I know you still win but... heart beating faster isn't good for you supporters. ;).
Rian/Yoke vs UKR MD
Rian/Yoke should win this.
whack_d_net 08-11-2009, 06:17 PM Wow lots of big gun will finally come in action today
Lets see how many of them will crumbled along the way
Hehehe i love me some UPSETS
From here onwards, real test begin for every contenders
Best of luck for INA players
Though i hope there's still no casualties in day 3,
but that seems unlikely to happened
Heres hoping that Firda may spring some surprise
Oh and theres also tricky match between BoSan vs GZ/CX
badMania 08-11-2009, 07:23 PM Today will be the day INA players will start falling. Starting from:
Adriyanti Firdasari vs Lu Lan [7] -- by bye Firda...nice try this year.
Pair in danger of losing:
Guo Zhendong/Xu Chen vs Bona Septano/Mohd Ahsan [7] -- Bona/Ahsan are seeded highly this year, but, they better win this one to justify their seeding. I fancy the CHN pair to go through as there were reports that Guo/Xu even beat Fu/Cai during the WC trial matches.
As for the other INA players, I believe they should go through:
MS -- Taufik Hidayat [4], Sony Dwi Kuncoro [6], Simon Santoso [13]
WS -- Maria Kristin Yulianti [15]
MD -- Rian Sukmawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki [11]
WD -- Nitya Krishinda Maheswari/Greysia Polii [13], Meiliana Jauhari/Shendy Puspa Irawati [10]
PIGGYGANONE 08-11-2009, 07:36 PM Dan Lin [5] (http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/player.aspx?id=396051B5-CD7B-4E98-A111-5A927631C0C1&player=3)http://static.tournamentsoftware.com/images/flags/CHN.gif[CHN] (http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/matches.aspx?id=396051B5-CD7B-4E98-A111-5A927631C0C1&c=CHN)-http://static.tournamentsoftware.com/images/flags/THA.gif[THA] (http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/matches.aspx?id=396051B5-CD7B-4E98-A111-5A927631C0C1&c=THA)Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk (http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/player.aspx?id=396051B5-CD7B-4E98-A111-5A927631C0C1&player=34)
It will be interesting to watch how LIN DAN cope with TANONGSAK
jumping smash.
If LD can win easily , then LCW chances to the crown will be more difficult.
Hope to receive progressive match score during the match.
I m looking fwd for an upset in this match or at least a three setter.
suetyan 08-11-2009, 07:59 PM The lucky ones would be boe/morgensen of denmark of course..As they get free tickets to round of 16 after their opponent from austria withdrew..
don't forget Tine Rassmussen also gets a free ticket to round 16;)
aZn_Popcorn 08-11-2009, 08:44 PM Lucky Danes hehe ;)

HAHAHAHA
X Ball 08-11-2009, 09:29 PM Lin Dan, upset?
HAHAHAHA
Yup I can see an upset for LD soon. Hahahahaha !

I think X Ball may be upset if Lin Dan wins handsdown but it is going to happen! :D X Ball is now feeling extremely uneasy so he hopes for an upset by the young Thai player in order that the most-talked about clash between his darling player LCW and star player LD will not materialise and LCW will have a clear passage to the final. He may have to again look into his crystal ball, by now possibly infected by the swine flu, but I guess it will not help as in the past.
Nevertheless I think "Boon" (Tanongsak's nickname given by our BC member Gina) will be very happy that he is given the opportunity to spar with LD. If in future Boon should again meet MAS's Lee Tsuen Seng, whom he defeated yesterday, Lee will not be able to last the distance again when Boon has been transformed into a much better player. :o
You can actually watch the Live Scores of all the matches here:

X Ball 08-11-2009, 10:02 PM Loh, no need to go so low as to insult Lee Tsuen Seng. LTS is no longer the player he was - we all know that but perhaps you don't.
If LD can win, I would be one of the 1st's to congratulate his effort. But it ain't going to happen. Sleep well coz you might be able to dream a few more nights of LD winning. :D
whack_d_net 08-11-2009, 10:20 PM Lets just see how this young thai will fare against mighty LD
IMO:
At the moment, if LD lose to any players (even to WR #1) still must be considered as upset, though
Hehehe

Very true,...LD is the God of Badminton.....LCW WR No. 1 because he played all the SS and GP only, nonthing morre than that.....;)
I think is good for 'Boon' to get a chance to spar with LD......but no way for him to up set LD lah,....'Boon' is a good young player but not up to that standard yet....
Loh, no need to go so low as to insult Lee Tsuen Seng. LTS is no longer the player he was - we all know that but perhaps you don't.

I thought you are the one who insulted Tsuen Seng in your previous post. :D
Actually, whether LD wins the title again is not of much concern to me. If he wins, then there should be no further argument as to whom is the greatest badminton player in the world today. Then congratulations are in order for LD. Same goes with LCW only "if" he wins the crown.
So I should not be disturbed by "sleepless nights". Instead I think you should be the one to continue to dream that LCW wins the WC title otherwise his world no.1 tag becomes meaningless. Unfortunately, I can guess you may have many nights of interrupted sleep, jumping up suddenly at odd times with fear in your eyes that LD has beaten LCW once again!
Accept the inevitable and go back to bed to have a restful night instead. ;)
X Ball 08-11-2009, 10:45 PM When LD plays LCW in the semis (and I am expecting that), it will be very much a case of who makes the most mistakes. I am 100% sure this is going to be the best fight we will have for a long long time. The modern day EPIC !
It will be better than when they played in the last Olympics Final - in fact, that was a washout as LCW was ineffective in the homeground of LD. But this is goingto be different as this is neutral India. It will underscore true championship material for anyone who wins.

What if Datuk got KO by NTM or should Datuk meets LD in SF and the OLY result repeat itself...now, let's make a prediction of what you will say should this inevitable...oops! I mean possible outcome occurs? Hahaha!!!:p:D

Don't be cheeky and tough OTB! Crystal Ball has been repeating 100% all the time!
Did I hear neutral ground? I thought someone was biased by food poisoning before, so much so he was punished in the first round?

That was an advice to LTS not waste his time - a factual statement based on his performance. But you are ridiculing him - I am almost sure you can't tell the difference.;)

PIGGYGANONE 08-11-2009, 11:07 PM Although LST lost his match in a disappointing way, I think it is a bit too harsh to hand him a term of approbrium.
ronnie14 08-11-2009, 11:11 PM best of luck to mas shuttlers for today's matches ;)

PIGGYGANONE 08-11-2009, 11:58 PM I am a NEWBIE. So pls dont scare me with heated argument.
One element that contributed to debates and argument is that conflicting
parties strongly believe their personal opinion is the right away.
Hopefully both parties dont debunk each other further.
Instead why not relax and enjoy some interestin matches for today.
Remember , each minute of argument can kill millions of Brain cells.

Not to worry Piggy, we're quite used to brain bashing.
But I don't think I can remember arguments or debates "can kill millions of brain cells". Debates need thinking in as logical and "biased manner" as possible and instead of killing our cells, they awaken and activate them and thus multiply the right brain cells in our head...hahahahahahaha :D:D:D

vpsingh 08-12-2009, 12:55 AM so will LCW be able to stretch Ola Fagbemi to three games:D:D
or will he win in two games itself?
And finally I will be able to cheer for Saina and Pi and Mi Zhou as well..... :p

PIGGYGANONE 08-12-2009, 01:31 AM A FRIENDLY ADVICE.
A HEALTHY BODY IS CONSTANTLY REGENERATING NEW CELLS TO REPLACE UNWANTED CELLS. THE RATE OF CELL RENEWAL IS COMMONLY KNOWN AS CELL METABOLISM.
IF THE CELL METABOLISM MAL FUNCTION THEN THE BODY WILL BE SICK OR DEVELOP
DISEASES.
IT WILL BE LIKE.... IF WE DONT REGULARLY DISPOSE OFF WASTE. IF WE JUST CONTINUE TO INPUT BODY WITH FOOD.
So be careful. For every new cell created, multiple old cells could have been eradicated.
arjuntew 08-12-2009, 01:35 AM The day starts with the two big names playing their matches. LCW has already taken a big 6-1 lead. Gade is at 4-2. Does the japanese has any chance against Gade?
