Both are students of Liang Chusia
I thought Melicia is with Tangkas? Anyway, she's always seen playing in the Singapore/Malaysia/Vietnam IS/IC; with no achievements so far. The last time I saw her with Liang was in the Singapore Satellite 2006.
Liang Chiusia will better serve INA badminton if she is recruited into Pelatnas and become the WS head-coach or perhaps move to PB Djarum to share the work load with Fang Kaixiang?
Sandy 09-14-2009, 08:45 PM Not impossible that Liang Chusia will coach Hana Ramadhini, she ever coach Mutiara club after left Pelatnas.
I saw Liang Chusia sat & talked with some Mutiara coaches & players when Indonesia Challenge.
Singapore IS :
Nadya Melati & Devi Tika P sign in too

jug8man 09-24-2009, 05:48 AM KOR Shon Seung Mo !!!!
SIN Susilo Ronald !!!!
2 'Old-Horses' in the fray... They may 'buaya' (malay word for Crocodile, implies to stay hidden for opportunity to snatch) the Title from all the 'youngsters'.
summerchin 09-25-2009, 06:26 AM Omg, in MD 50957 Lee Jae Jin is Hwang Ji Man's ex partner? I thought he had retired from tha national team? I really wish to see Hwang & lee partnership again!
Sealman 09-26-2009, 12:08 PM not sure if there's live score but here's the tournament software link:

huangkwokhau 09-26-2009, 07:10 PM Been told by KOR team that the reason why Seung Sheng Mo or Bae or Lee Jaejin's playing in Singapore is to prepare themselves for nexr National/company games in nexr 2 or 3 weeks....
Krisna 09-27-2009, 02:07 AM I thought Melicia is with Tangkas? Anyway, she's always seen playing in the Singapore/Malaysia/Vietnam IS/IC; with no achievements so far. The last time I saw her with Liang was in the Singapore Satellite 2006.
Melicia's status is still a member of PB. Tangkas in INA... But the club don't want to fund her... So she got her own coach (Liang) and funded her own tournament and training expenses... :)
Yes..he is with Reony..I forgot the club name..with Wang Rong..Yu Hirayama..
I'm pretty sure it is the Unisys club...

In INA they will be called 'kuda hitam' (black horse)... Buaya [short for Buaya Darat] will mean: a dirty-minded man [usually an older man] who likes to prey on young females... :p

I know about that. The last time I saw her with her mom & Liang. The mom even brought video equipment to tape the matches. She has the money & drive to join regional tourneys, but too bad....in my opinion, she's not even a top 75 player in my opinion :o So, kinda wasted for Liang to stick to her.
It will be intriguing for PB Djarum to poach Liang Chiu-Hsia and ask her train the upcoming WS players like Ana Rovita and Febby Angguni.

Haha, I see.
Over here it is often used as 'hustler'. Especially in Golf when a player has a high handicap but is actually much better. there is the phrase 'kena buaya' which means someone has been 'deceived'. Normaly used with Humour in the tone of speach.

I do not know their company's name...just briefly being told by Korean team..as I was excited to see Lee Jae Jin to make come back...actually i asked them why LJJ or shon seung Mo did not join Japenese or Denmark's league...I do really want to see those two and others playing independently ...
badMania 09-29-2009, 11:17 PM In MS, Andre Marteen, Riyanto Subagja, and Shesar Hiren Rhustavito won their first-round matches. Fauzi Adnan advances to R16 as his opponent in the second round withdrew. He should have no problem entering the QF.
In the second round to be played this afternoon:
Andre Marteen vs Jolly K. Prakash
Sheshar Hiren Rhustavito vs Oh Do Hyup
Daniel Gow vs Riyanto Subagja
In WS, Melicia Kurniawan, Yeni Asmarani, Yulia Yosephine Susanto. All are unlikely to get past R16 tomorrow as they will face seeded players.
Ana Rovita also withdrew....injury perhaps??
In XD, to be played this afternoon:
Budi Hartono/Aurien Hudiono vs Jonathan Tang/Samantha Neo
Chayut Triyachart/Yao Lei vs Nurwahid Ardianto/Hety Nugraheny
Gerald Ong/Tan Wei Han vs I Komang Sandy Wijaya/Nadya Melati
In MD, to be played later this evening:
Didit Juang Indriyanto/Seiko Wahyu Kusdianto vs Febriyan Irvannaldy/Robin Gonansa
Budi Hartono/Ricky Karanda Suwardi vs Lee Jen Whee/Joel Tan
Dinsyl Lim Kirk/Sean Lee vs Bagus Suprobo/Trikusuma Wardhana
Ericson Rusdianto/Nurwahid Ardianto vs Gareth Tan/Sherman Lau
Huang Chao/Ng Zong Ren vs Riyo Arief Adreanto/Selvanus Geh
Dakka Yudha Sakti/Mohd Sholihuddin Allan vs Michael The/Satya Adi Nugroho
yunarinaldi 09-29-2009, 11:31 PM In WS, Melicia Kurniawan, Yeni Asmarani, Yulia Yosephine Susanto. All are unlikely to get past R16 tomorrow as they will face seeded players.
Ana Rovita also withdrew....injury perhaps??
perhaps Ana needs to join INA WJC squad in Cipayung:confused::confused::confused:
Sealman 09-30-2009, 04:47 AM I do not know their company's name...
i watched some of the koreans eg JJ Lee, Shon etc play this afternoon... 'KT&G' was imprinted on some of the players' jerseys
http://www.ktng.com/
btw the korean gals are cute :D
Sealman 09-30-2009, 04:51 AM MS Top seed Beryno Wong of Malaysia was a no-show. wonder what happened to him.
jug8man 09-30-2009, 05:20 AM Last weeks Travelling Exhaustion. Vladivostok travel a nightmare. 5hrs to korea. 5 hours waiting. 2 hours to Russia. 3 hours airport immigration due to only 2 gates and 'don't know where is Malaysia'. And traffic and everything.
Next year perhaps.
Krisna 10-01-2009, 03:20 AM Vito and Rijanto are in the quarterfinals... :) Good experience so far...

KT&G?!? That's the state-owned cigarette company of Korea...
Ana Rovita also withdrew....injury perhaps??
perhaps Ana needs to join INA WJC squad in Cipayung:confused::confused::confused:
My sources said that Ana got a light injury on her right thigh. She was rested [and now already much better], so she can play in the World Junior Championships. Ana, Febby, and Ullin-Berry will start practicing with the rest of the Pratama team next week. They won't be playing at Tangkas Alfamart Junior Challenge...
Sealman 10-01-2009, 05:02 AM Congrats to Derek Wong who came back from 1 game down to defeat Ronald Susilo 2-1. Great fighting spirit!
Krisna 10-01-2009, 05:10 AM Congrats to Derek Wong who came back from 1 game down to defeat Ronald Susilo 2-1. Great fighting spirit!
Derek Wong vs. Riyanto Subagya in the quarterfinals... :D A good test for INA's 16 year old... ;) Derek might still win this match, but in 5 years, Riyanto will overwhelm Derek...
Meanwhile, Pipin is the only INA WS left in the quarterfinals... :p
badMania 10-01-2009, 09:08 PM Expected results really so far. The majority of INA players who progress to the QF are from PB Djarum.
MS QF
Shesar Hiren Rhustavito vs Fauzi Adnan [3] -- boys vs men....good experience for Vito in playing the serial INA Domestic Circuit winners. It will be a huge bonus for Vito if he can beat Fauzi.
Riyanto Subagja vs Derek Wong Zi Liang [2] -- good effort from Riyanto once again as he reaches the QF. He faces a more experienced player in Derek Wong. 50-50.
WS QF
Rosaria Yusfin Pungkasari [5] vs Bae Youn Joo [2] -- tough for Pipin to win.
MD QF
Chayut Triyachart/Danny Bawa Chirisnanta [1] vs Didit Juang Indriyanto/Seiko Wahyu Kusdianto -- again, a tough match for Didit/Seiko, but, definitely good experience as Krisna mentioned. They still have one more year left in Junior tourneys and they should be INA's main BD pair in the WJC next year.
Budi Hartono/Ricky Karanda Suwardi vs Hong Seung Ki/Shon Seung Mo -- the KOR pair should prevail.
WD QF
Yao Lei/Shinta Mulia Sari [1] vs Athiatiun Rahimah/Aurien Hudiono -- I am pretty sure the top-seed will win this event!
Devi Tika Permatasari/Nadya Melati vs Ann-Louise Slee/Leisha Cooper [3] -- Devi/Tika could be INA's only survivor in the SF.

they shouldn't out from national team last year bcos there still so many ppl wanna watch their performance, they are still young and have chance to win some tournament.... i want them back
Teck Kai 10-02-2009, 12:43 AM I also want to see the match but they played in the morning and afternoon. So, cant go to watch the match. Some player like LJJ and Ronald Susilo are my favourite. And also Lee hyun Il... Hope they can come back arena again.

The semi finals start at 6pm later today and finals from 12.30pm tomorrow so you may have a chance to catch it.
Apparently RS was rusty but Derek has self belief and his attacks were good, so he deserves his win. RS is a veteran and Derek is young gun and between veterans and young guns, they share a common trait; their outcome is unpredictable and their performance from match to match can change like Melbourne weather within a day.
If you want to get close to LJJ, this is the chance because there's no security to separate players from fans.
Jen had a photo taken with LJJ! The organisers have provided this FREE photo service where the photo is printed out on a damage-proof plastic tag.I requested to have the photo uploaded here because LiNing's tagline is "Anything is possible".They tried but 'Anything is possible...but not today...'
LJJ promised to give Jen his jersey after finals tomorrow.(Well, Jen will be sleepless tonight for sure. Question is how long will she be sleepless if she gets the LJJ jersey?)
Sealman 10-02-2009, 02:42 AM Managed to catch some action this morning. Agree with Krisna that Riyanto Subagya has potential but this tall boy looks older than his age. you're sure he's 16? :p
Fauzi Adnan is a head shorter than Shesar Hiren Rhustavito but his work rate is excellent.
ps. love the djarum/flypower jerseys. when did djarum drop yonex? :)

I look INA's MS more promising than current INA Junior, need more experience still impateince play too much long return. Remember me Hayom Rumbaka 1-2 years ago, too much smash out.
Beside both players, INA's Elite junior in this event are :
Hana Ramadhini 15
Seiko/Didit Juang 17/17
Ricky Karanda Suwandi/Budi Hartono 17/18
Sealman 10-02-2009, 03:00 AM Lee JJ is still very fast but expect to see some 'fireworks' this evening as the Koreans will be up against the 2nd MD seeds Widianto/Wijaya.
How old is Olympics silver medalist Shon Sheung Mo? 29 years old? He is still a very good player imho and hope to see him in the MS finals.
Are Bae Youn Joo and Jung Hoon Ho in the Korean national team? they're lovely :)

Hi Thanks
I dont know who is Derek Wong and dont know how good is him. The match between Ronald Susilo versus Derek Wong should be very interested. I missed the match because was during my working hour. Sigh,,, I want Ronald Susilo to win because i already plan to see him to play in FINAL. But the result make me very disappointed. Dont know when i can see Ronald Susilo again??? Anybody know what he doing now???
About LJJ, he have high chance to enter MD and XD final. He is very gentleman player and cant wait to see him in the final.
Meanwhile, can anybody share the photos?

ok, I will study LJJ in more detail tomorrow and feedback to you. But yes, I agree with you he is sooooo...very good looking (whether more so than last time I will have to check with Jen; she's the expert.) I had all the time to look at him because he was just 2 metres away but I was busy cheering for team Singapore. Maybe I can find the time to look at him tomorrow (when they are playing WS) and let him know it's part of my BCF assignment by request, so please be patient for another day.
BTW, I was wrong earlier. Tomorrow's Finals will start at 2pm.
pjswift 10-02-2009, 10:38 AM Today's SIN WD and MD wins over KOR were expected.
I was just thinking how can SIN's regular WD and MD lose to KOR's irregular WD and MD, so they won.
SIN WD should have the edge to win the title tomorrow with crowd support. But SIN MD would likely make KOR MD work so there' s a match.
SIN MS Derek Wong played well today but INA MS Adnan Fauzi played better. DW started G1 well ahead with 7-0 and kept his 7point lead at the interval with the score at 11-7. After his coach's magic words, AF closed the gap and streaked ahead to clinch G1. AF's superb defence and intelligent game reading gradually diminished DW's confidence as the match progressed. Though DW held 3 game points in G2, he played too safe to close. AF displayed steady nerves and took risks in the final 2 points and was deservingly rewarded. Hopefully AF will show the same attitude against SSM so we will have a match in the finals.
DW's performance indicates he will make progress with more exposure so hopefully SBA will give him more opportunities.

event 10-04-2009, 02:49 AM How old is Olympics silver medalist Shon Sheung Mo? 29 years old?Yes. Bae was on the national team while still a junior but has been off it since the spring, around the time she was left off the Sudirman Cup roster. She was not even among the 20 players who tried out in the national team women's singles selection playoff in July even though she'd played in the summer championships a couple of weeks earlier.

She was not even among the 20 players who tried out in the national team women's singles selection playoff in July even though she'd played in the summer championships a couple of weeks earlier.
See podium shots here (http://www.badmintontimes.com/article2/articleRead.jsp?menunum=101&no=3480). The photo here (http://www.badmintontimes.com/article2/articleRead.jsp?menunum=101&no=3479) is from before the tournament.
thanks for the link event ^^;;
pjswift 10-04-2009, 09:37 AM Sorry for this delayed report but is it my pc or bcf that's taking so long for each page to open? I just gave up.
Anyway, the WD and MD finals were thrillers.
I was expecting SIN WD to win the title by a whisker but it turned out to be KOR 's victory. In both G1 and G3,YL was clearly nervous in closing although she and Shinta both played well and could be proud of their efforts in spite of their loss. YL definitely can benefit from some mental training so that SIN WD don't lose close matches to nerves. Both WDs played at a very high level and proved to the crowd that a WD match could keep them on edge. (The naughty part was midway in G2, SIN MD was already waiting in the wings, expecting SIN WD to lose in straight games whilst LJJ and partner were still up in the spectator stands, keeping cool.)
The MD match was top quality. SIN MD's competitiveness forced KOR MD to raise their game to the max. In G1, Danny Bawa showed class by serving perfectly under pressure, causing KOR MD to err in returning his serves, reeling off 4 points in a row to close out G1.
In G2, there was a sense of deja vu as KOR MD reached gamepoint at 20-18. This time, LJJ made sure there was no mistake. His focus was intense. He killed the serve with a screamer- an unreturnable backhand diagonal flick-smash so sharp it skimmed off the far end corner. It was so unbelievably breathtaking! I'm gonna miss his sensational badminton!
In G3, SIN MD continued to play with confidence and challenged KOR until their score reached 15. After which, they could not keep up with KOR's continued high speed and power.
But I'm so proud of Team Spore even though they did not win a title. In all the events, the top SIN players displayed tremendous fighting spirit, self-belief and quality badminton. In time to come,Team Spore has it to match the best. Provided they have sufficient exposure opportunities.
pjswift 10-04-2009, 11:02 AM I don't know how old Fauzi Adnan is but I enjoyed watching him play. He has this cool, confident style and visually absorbing footwork. Although he displayed maturity in his game, he could not match SSM physically and in experience. SSM is what I would call an evergreen. He may be out of the international circuit but I believe he would still cause some palpitations among the top MS.
As both SSM and LJJ hardly speak English, I asked the team manager for an update. He said both of them are with the Miryang City (club), a place two hours away by train from Seoul. SSM is both coach and player while LJJ is a player. LJJ is unlikely to return to the KOR national team. That's so heartbreaking to hear. Let's hope they'll come back to Spore again next year.It was such a special treat and great honour to have them here. I still can't believe we can be so lucky. Maybe they like Singapore!
And this is specially by flo-J's request on LJJ.
According to Jen, LJJ is as good looking as ever.During TC08, LJJ was very fair. At OG08, LJJ was a shade darker. This time round, LJJ looks tanned. Regardless of his skin tone, LJJ has instant girl appeal.
He has smiling eyes, his hair is of natural boyish curls and most of all, he has such an easygoing nature about him.
LJJ seems to love beads. He wears a bracelet of beige colour beads on his left wrist. He has a bead stud on his right ear and two on his left ear. After a match, LJJ would rest on the highest level bench, shirtless and fan-bathe by the wall fan because the stadium is not aircon and warm(but not stuffy). He would listen to his ipod? and lie down flat, perhaps also gazing at the ceiling? (I was wondering what's there to see on the ceiling, so I did the same thing and lied down flat and looked at the ceiling. Well, the ceiling was not white and plain. It has ventilation holes and the ceiling boards are of grainy texture.
Rather relaxing...)
LJJ is the only player to relax in this way. Probably indicates his free-spirited nature. (Can't imagine LYD doing that; LYD's too serious.) LJJ's also very popular with his teammates. After SSM won his MS match, he headed straight towards LJJ and they gave each other a high five.
And yes, LJJ gave Jen his jersey(sweat and all) after the finals, as promised. She was so happy she lingered on until the KOR bus left while I went across the grass patch to check out a dinner option. She's still on cloud nine, sleepless and now she wants to watch all LJJ's matches! I said only Han can help.
What a week of LJJ magic!

not true at all, if you're referring to world-class players :o
while i was watching his matches, not only me but many of the audience were making sarcastic remarks about this so-called "Olympics Silver Medalist".
he's way below world-class standard now.
Sealman 10-04-2009, 09:41 PM Are Bae Youn Joo and Jung Hoon Ho in the Korean national team?
Jung was on the junior national team from 2000-2001. He just turned 26.
Sorry I got the wrong 'Jung'. I was actually enquiring about female doubles player Jung Kyung Eun :)
Sealman 10-04-2009, 09:50 PM I am surprised yesterday Singapore men and ladies doubles, still wearing Yonex , used yonex rackets and taking Yonex Bags. Arent they supposed to wear and used Li ning equipment since they sponsored by Li ning now??
At least Yao , that china lady should wear Li ning , she from china leh , support Li ning la:D
Believe some of the existing players have existing contracts with Yonex. Another Singapore player Chrisnata Danny Bawa is sponsored by Gosen and plays with the Aermet 6900.
BTW I observed most of the Koreans use the Victor Superwaves 35. JJ Lee's smashes were

What remarks? Would you say the same about Ronald Susilo?
It would have been interesting to see how Shon fare against MS top seed Beryno Wong of Malaysia but too bad he didnt turn up.
Sealman 10-04-2009, 10:13 PM Anyway, the WD and MD finals were thrillers.
Yes we could hear you cheering ('screaming') for Singapore... were you not sitted next to the Korean camp :)

I'm not sure Beryno would win yet. Shon didn't get a Olympic Silver by fluke. He is defo Quality Player you can't bet againts.

event 10-05-2009, 03:53 AM Sorry I got the wrong 'Jung'. I was actually enquiring about female doubles player Jung Kyung Eun.Ah. Then yes, she is on the national team. She's had a few different partners this year but at her last three GP tournaments, she was back playing with her old partner, Yoo Hyun Young. Yoo partnered both Lee Yong Dae and Shin Baek Cheol in XD in junior days and she is also the daughter of the KT&G coach, who coached Jung, Bae Youn Joo, Bae Seung Hee, and his daughter in high school in Masan.

Yes, you're right.
SSM played just enough to win.
It's always good to have different feedback.
What do you think of the other matches, esp the WD and MD?

Yes, it 's tougher than household chores. I often wonder why you guys don't help out. Or at least take some pics of LJJ.
Anyway, I thought it was not nice of SIN MD to come out so early, expecting SIN WD to lose super quick, so gotta work overtime to prove them wrong.
Flo-J gave an assignment which could only be done sitting next to the KOR camp. But a most enjoyable mission!

I missed this event but I'm surprised that a distinguished Olympian like SSM is allowed to take part in what is considered essentially a satellite tournament. In a way this is depriving the up-and-coming young players from winning some prizes. One consolation is that the lucky ones have a chance to match against him. ;)
