This is an old ti-10 1st gen racket bought for over $100. I'm not sure about the code because it is old but the racket feels real. So is it genuine?

my 1st impression, looks real.
after looking at the cone code and SP at the shaft, it is fake.
let us wait the master Matt to reconfirm my finding.

unsure about drifit's diagnosis.

real 1st gen Ti-10 came out before the new style serial number. and the stamped serial in your photo looks pretty legit.

Bought it from a friend and the sticker only says PBSI. Yellow on top, green on bottom.

I read some Chinese article regarding 1st gen ti10. Manufacturing date code before 2003 is consider real 1st gen which is head heavy. Yonex Japan discontinued ti10 1st gen.

However Yonex Sunrise company modified ti-10 with lighter head and produced date code from 2004 to 2005 but racket color is still painted with black-red. Market targeted on south-east Asia countries.

From 2005 to 2007, Sunrise continue came out racket painted with yellow-white color. and is considered as 2nd gen.

if indeed this racket is genuine, not only are we looking at the first generation, but also an earlier production of the first gen as it still have the old style serial number.

I have one of these circa 2002 1st gen Ti-10's which my father won from a lucky draw by Sunrise around the time. It looks very similar to this specimen here. I'm guessing it is real but time will tell.

P.S. What does the stamped code on the cone mean, anyone?

Is anyone of yours think will Yonex Sunrise product 4th generation in near future?
If yes, what kind of profile would be for the racket?

it should be the real deal, the serial is the same format of what yonex serials were like before 2000. you won't be able to get the manufactured date with the old serials like you can with the new ones though.

yeah, the font is different to what we're used to, but it looks legit to me.
