WCH will probably be beaten by BCL imo, cuz i think the chinese coaches will not take him lightly this time around. Nonetheless, i hope he passes through ! MAS BOLEH !

Could we be seing a LCW-LD finals this time around ?

LCW may have a hard time against Gong Weijie. Gong may have the upper hand at home against LCW.

Bah dont think so la, unless LCW REALLY plays a bad game. The last time they met, if I recall nicely, LCW has no trouble at all. Now you may be right if the crowd becomes as scary as in the Olympic finals (omg that was really gr8 support)

Almost all bdm top-names will participate this SS except INA shuttlers who decide to withdraw as reported earlier by Hauge.

Most baddy fans will wait another LCW-LD showdown in finale after last time at Sudirman Cup semifinal last May.

Few entries in MD department where there're 5 pairs get free ticket to progress automatically into second round.

this tournament seems like regularly excercise for them....
what make the other player miss this tournament?

Probably due to the China's infamous setting of umpires/service judegs/line judges all from China... Remember last year JJS/LYD withdrew the game for their unfair judges.

..since this China Masters SS is basically turning out to be a semi-national tourney, a mix and match pairing like that is not surprising..

Btw, that pairing along with a few others were also brought up earlier in this thread below:

.and wait for our suetyan, one of BC's in-house CHN team "experts", to chime in..;)

Indonesia Passes on China Badminton Masters

After coming home empty-handed from the world championships last month, the Indonesian national team is taking a little more time to lick its wounds.

No national shuttlers will compete in the China Masters Super Series, which is scheduled for Sept. 15-20. The decision was made after meetings between coaches and Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) officials.

PBSI head of athletes’ development Lius Pongoh said the association wanted to give shuttlers more time before the Japan Open Super Series on Sept. 22-27.

Few Indonesian shuttlers, whether on the national team or professionals, have been consistently successful this year. Nova Widianto and Liliyana Natsir won the country’s only Super Series title, the Malaysia Open mixed doubles crown in January.

Taufik Hidayat is the last Indonesian to win a title, taking top spot in men’s singles at the third-tier US Grand Prix in July.

“It's been seven months since the last title Indonesia won. The PBSI thinks it's better to give a longer preparation time to the athletes before they play in Japan,” Lius said on Wednesday.

The PBSI, Lius said, will send 18 players to Japan, all of whom represented Indonesia at the world championship.

Even with more preparation time, though, the association will not heap too much expectation on the shuttlers, placing most of its hopes for a title in mixed and men’s doubles.

“We won’t be hoping much from mixed double as we used to. Nova is getting older,” Lius said.

The PBSI moved to partner Liliyana with a younger shuttler. She teamed up with Muhammad Rijal at the Taiwan Grand Prix Gold last month and reached the quarterfinals.

Men’s doubles world No. 1 pair Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan return after missing the world championship when Markis came down with an illness.

The China Masters has been good to Indonesia in recent years. Vita Marissa and Liliyana won the women’s doubles title in 2007, and the country came away with two victories in 2008 through Sony Dwi Kuncoro (men’s singles) and Markis and Hendra (men’s doubles).

what happend to the England team? Can't find my favorite player Nathan neither in MD nor in XD, not in China and also not in the Japan draw. Did they finish the season while skipping the WC in India? Does anybody know anything? Do they take a long break until the All England?

Yikes, it seems that this year's China Masters SS kinda turns out to be like national competition for CHN team :p :p
Too many red army, IMO
Well, since INA camp skip this tourney, maybe i should start to support another non-CHN players
Not that i dislike CHN players,
but i guess it'll be super duper boring event, if -lets say- all SF spots dominated by CHN
Hahaha :D :D

I read it somewhere on a chinese website, most nations are either skipping because of in-depth training or preparation for Japan Open. Most countries pulled out so China decided to test out their team 2 players.

They need to train for their national games which will be held at the end of the year.

Re-draw at the MS competition. LCW and LD same half.
