Hi guys, I'm currently using the SBH-101LTD at a size of UK10.5 and find they fit my wide feet of 26.5cm length nicely although I think I have around 3cm of room in font of my toes to the shoe end. I have no problem with comfort and can still tip toe relatively easily with them. Recently I just broke a pair of socks and a forum mate here suggests that it could be because my toes are sticking out into the 3cm room when I do lunges and landings on my toes which is also not a good thing to have if I want to up my game.

He suggested that I give the SHB-200 which has a 4E spec a try. What I want to know is if there are any other options I can also look at? Not that I don't like the SHB-200 but from my research, the SHB-99 (MX and LTD) almost also have that flat front feet profile but is it a 3E like the SHB-101LTD?

I'm planning to set my order tomorrow so I will really appreciate it if I can find appropriate suggestions as soon as possible. I'm also going for training this Saturday so if I settle my orders on the early weekdays I can receive the shoes and try them out for training this week.

Much appreciated!

I have also been on the search for a wider forefoot shoe.
It would appear that in the Yonex line the SHB-79W, 80W, and 200 are the wide ones. Opinions on each can be found on BC using search.

Availability:
The 200 is to be everywhere online.
The 80W is hard to find in my size. But BadmintonDeals on ebay had them at 26.5cm as of September 5.
I'm too thick to understand the Chinese-English mix on Bluesky's website, but I think they list all three of the wides (including 79W).

Asics and Mizuno also have wide shoes, about which other members will be able to inform you.

Good luck

Thanks for the information.

By the way is there a real difference between the JP version SHB-200WM versus the SHB-200EX that is more readily available internationally? What does the "Wide Mid" spec mean anyway?

The "mid" means it's a high-cut ankle shoe. There's pictures on the web you can look at.

Ah, now I notice, thanks a lot!

It doesn't make much difference does it (perhaps looking a bit more like basketball shoes and maybe adding a little or could it be more support for the ankles)? I can just get the SHB-200EX at perhaps size UK 9 and still be on the safe side can't I?

Here my knowledge ends. ;) I am not expert enough to advise you on exact sizing, nor the mid vs. regular. Hopefully bigger brains will weigh in soon.

Elsewhere in the forum the point is made that what you may gain in extra ankle stability, you lose in flexibility. However since they make them, and sell them, these must be good for some folks. Obviously trying on shoes is best. Good luck:)

Thanks a lot! I can only get the EX version here in Sydney anyway, the JP "mid" ankle version I'll have to pass for the mean time. I may actually consider getting both then selling the one which doesn't play as comfortable for me.

Time will tell....
