FuWang 09-19-2009, 09:55 PM why FuCai walkover from final match? what happened????
whack_d_net 09-19-2009, 10:18 PM Best of luck for BP ;)
Though it's quite impossible, i believe that miracles (read: accidents) do happens sometimes :p
The OC also quite smart by putting LD vs BP as the last match,
Otherwise the spectators (though mostly is CHN fans) probably will bored till death :D :D
Wonder why CY/FHF decide to WO, though. Any news bout this?
Maybe FHF simply had to babysit? Hehehe :p :p
suetyan 09-19-2009, 11:23 PM Cai Yun is injured. (recrudesce of old injury)
CLELY 09-19-2009, 11:26 PM Best of luck for BP ;)

oh wow really? guo and chen are sooo lucky huh? free ranking points
whack_d_net 09-19-2009, 11:59 PM Oh, CY is injured? Get well soon ;)
But "DESPITE" the injury and such, IIRC cHN players "OFTEN" concede WO when facing their teammates,
I guess it ain't big deal if it happens in preliminary rounds
But C'mon, this is finale
If i was there among spectators, certainly i would ask for 20% refund
Hahaha just kiddin, LOL :D*:D
demolidor 09-20-2009, 12:25 AM If you're happy and you know it ... Now it's repetitive in a language most understand :D.
kuwichert 09-20-2009, 12:44 AM Hmm, MD pair of Guo/Xu is already win without playing the final match...
man, we have to cheer BP later on, the only brick in the wall - LOL
not only because of that, we also need to cheer the underdogs !!! :D:D
jasonmarc 09-20-2009, 12:47 AM Du jing smashes very hard...she smashed like a man...
kuwichert 09-20-2009, 12:49 AM Morning folks, seems we could be lucky - the girls make it fast, no MD, so may be we can watch all matches on CCTV today, not like yesterday as they stopped broadcasting before it got interesting.
Dudes, save power for the last match, all together lets cheer the underdog and brick in the wall, BP ! BP's gonna be the man of the day!
ok - first I gonna grab my breakfast LOL
jasonmarc 09-20-2009, 12:49 AM Cai Yun is injured. (recrudesce of old injury)
Oh...bad, will play in Japan Open next week...? :o
kuwichert 09-20-2009, 12:57 AM Oh, CY is injured? Get well soon ;)

yep, guess we all would ask that question, but this is China, and they also do that abroad as well, just remember the all- england last time, they do even set up final matches and do not care anything about spectators, just win the war - always serious without any joy on court
, the only exception was Gao Ling  - lets cheer BP later on, if the miracle happens you gonna see the place empty for the ceremony, and I guess CCTV will not show it LOL:D
limsy 09-20-2009, 12:59 AM Oh...bad, will play in Japan Open next week...? :o
nah,do u know china player able to recover from injury in 3-4 days?
the famous example is lindan lost to chen jin in ae 2008 due to INJURY and then won the swiss open next week:p
Dede_Pran 09-20-2009, 01:02 AM Yeah... Du/Yu overcame Cheng/Zhao in a straight identical sets 21-15, good for my PAW :D
jasonmarc 09-20-2009, 01:03 AM Best of luck for BP ;)

This could help their team mate to further improved their WR in MD........
and i think FHF/CY 'will be able to recovered' in time for JO next week...:D
jasonmarc 09-20-2009, 01:04 AM nah,do u know china player able to recover from injury in 3-4 days?
the famous example is lindan lost to chen jin in ae 2008 due to INJURY and then won the swiss open next week:p
Yes, they have very good team doctors....:D

jasonmarc 09-20-2009, 01:05 AM Common WSX.............love u...
suetyan 09-20-2009, 01:06 AM wow, WSX forces WL to run a lot!!
suetyan 09-20-2009, 01:07 AM WSX has really improved a lot! Her net play is awesome.
kuwichert 09-20-2009, 01:08 AM nice backhand - great, and fast match also
kuwichert 09-20-2009, 01:10 AM 21-7 is also ok - LOL
jasonmarc 09-20-2009, 01:13 AM WSX has great net shots....just like Saina.....WL have problems with these net shots...
kuwichert 09-20-2009, 01:16 AM but no smashes by WS, even the great chance to finish a rally by that, guess that will kill her,
Dede_Pran 09-20-2009, 01:19 AM WSX has really improved a lot! Her net play is awesome.
how 'bout the score Suetyan?
jasonmarc 09-20-2009, 01:20 AM Lucky WSX didnt sprank her ankle....
suetyan 09-20-2009, 01:20 AM Come on WSX!!! You can do it! :D
suetyan 09-20-2009, 01:21 AM how 'bout the score Suetyan?

ctjcad 09-20-2009, 01:23 AM zzZZzzZZ....(sorry, again)..:p
As for P-Man's chance of upsetting LinDan, he'll need to play the match of his entire badminton career. This is gonna be P-Man's version of the Olympics MS Final..
vedriegas 09-20-2009, 01:24 AM Streaming from internet so slowly
kuwichert 09-20-2009, 01:24 AM great play by WS
kuwichert 09-20-2009, 01:25 AM Streaming from internet so slowly
CCTV on TVU is ok, at least over here:D
ctjcad 09-20-2009, 01:26 AM Wang SX is reading Wang Lin's game like braille...such good footwork and deft strokes..
kuwichert 09-20-2009, 01:26 AM wow, she starts smashing now - not that hard but effective
jasonmarc 09-20-2009, 01:27 AM WSX starts to smash more in the 2nd game.....WL still trying to keep up with WSX.......speed, runs a lot...
jasonmarc 09-20-2009, 01:31 AM Great cross court from WSX......8 - 8
suetyan 09-20-2009, 01:34 AM it seems like the net is not listening to WL today. :D
jasonmarc 09-20-2009, 01:34 AM Wsx 10 - 11 Wl....
ctjcad 09-20-2009, 01:34 AM Wang SX certainly has a soft touch game and quite deceptive in her shots..WSX ahead 12-11..
jasonmarc 09-20-2009, 01:35 AM it seems like the net is not listening to WL today. :D
Yes, WL is trying hard to keep WSX at the back court...:D
nokh88 09-20-2009, 01:36 AM Oh, CY is injured? Get well soon ;)
But "DESPITE" the injury and such, IIRC cHN players "OFTEN" concede WO when facing their teammates,

But C'mon, this is finale

Hahaha just kiddin, LOL :D*:D
This is all China's work. If yesterday had the Uncles won, I think there will be a match.
ctjcad 09-20-2009, 01:37 AM a bit of a controversial line call...WSX ahead 14-13..now 14 all..
kuwichert 09-20-2009, 01:38 AM WSX go, go , go, we are waiting for BP!!!!
ctjcad 09-20-2009, 01:39 AM WL is starting to pull away..ahead 18-14..could this go into rubber game??..
ctjcad 09-20-2009, 01:40 AM WL forces rubber game with the identical score as the 1st game..Wang SX's game just went out of sorts, making consecutive errors to close the 2nd game..
kuwichert 09-20-2009, 01:40 AM looks like we have to stand a rubber, may be Zhang Ning starts exercising Yongbo's lessons now - it's a mess for us
kuwichert 09-20-2009, 01:42 AM game over, the only real match is coming later, hope we can watch it,
jasonmarc 09-20-2009, 01:43 AM WL need this champion to top the WR .........over ZM...?
kuwichert 09-20-2009, 01:44 AM suddendly WL gets faster, mymy, hate that kind of cheating us
spoileddelights 09-20-2009, 01:44 AM Wheeeeee go boonsak! Cant wait~
Think he'll be under alot stress lol.
yd0911 09-20-2009, 01:45 AM What actually was wrong with Cai and Fu?
yd0911 09-20-2009, 01:46 AM How old is WSX? She seems to be great but not yet sent to AE or WC?
kuwichert 09-20-2009, 01:47 AM What actually was wrong with Cai and Fu?
keep power for next week
ctjcad 09-20-2009, 01:48 AM Wang SX with a couple of good judgment plays puts her ahead 7-3..
WSX now with a 9-6 advantage..
kuwichert 09-20-2009, 01:49 AM Does Zhang Ning speak english and she's reading BC?
apontoh 09-20-2009, 01:50 AM Oh, CY is injured? Get well soon ;)
But "DESPITE" the injury and such, IIRC cHN players "OFTEN" concede WO when facing their teammates,
I guess it ain't big deal if it happens in preliminary rounds
But C'mon, this is finale

Hahaha just kiddin, LOL :D*:D
I'm quite sure CY wouldn't be 'injured' if his final opponent was Korean, Malaysian , Indonesian or Denmark
limsy 09-20-2009, 01:52 AM I'm quite sure CY wouldn't be 'injured' if his final opponent was Korean, Malaysian , Indonesian or Denmark
haha, even u didnt post we also know:)
ctjcad 09-20-2009, 01:52 AM WSX enjoying her 11-6 lead @ the interval..WL's net game has been absent so far..
WSX played very fast and mature in the first game. but wasn't mature to remember to conserve some energy, now ran out on the 2nd game...
yd0911 09-20-2009, 01:53 AM keep power for next week
Since their opponents in final are from China too, they decide to withdraw? How shameful!!!
yd0911 09-20-2009, 01:55 AM Wang Lin is ranked in top 5, right? Why is she trailing behind now? 8O
OneToughBirdie 09-20-2009, 01:55 AM WL need this champion to top the WR .........over ZM...?
If there is a fix for WL to win to be WR1, then the SF should be easy, but WL almost lost to WX in SF and it was a hard 3-set game, therefore, I don't think WSX wil be commanded to lose by design to WL...also, no need to top WR1 cos from hereon, CHN WS rule supreme...actually, WS winner will be fight among CHN WS players and CHN is too crowded with so many excellent players...I really enjoy watching WX, very skilfull, excellent backhand flick return and poise when you consider that she does not have much international experience.
jasonmarc 09-20-2009, 01:55 AM I'm quite sure CY wouldn't be 'injured' if his final opponent was Korean, Malaysian , Indonesian or Denmark
:D.....World Best Team's....standard practise..:D:D
ctjcad 09-20-2009, 01:56 AM another close controversial line call (called out), this time i think it was a bad call..WSX ahead 15-8 and she can smell the finish line..
kar_mun 09-20-2009, 01:56 AM How old is WSX? She seems to be great but not yet sent to AE or WC?
If I'm not wrong, she's 19. She lost to saina at the semi final of last year's world junior championship. She seems to improve a lot already, i wonder can saina still win against her.
suetyan 09-20-2009, 01:57 AM I realize something, WSX doesn't like high serve :D
yd0911 09-20-2009, 01:57 AM Come on, finish soon, girls!
jasonmarc 09-20-2009, 01:57 AM If there is a fix for WL to win to be WR1, then the SF should be easy, but WL almost lost to WX in SF and it was a hard 3-set game, therefore, I don't think WSX wil be commanded to lose by design to WL...also, no need to top WR1 cos from hereon, CHN WS rule supreme...actually, WS winner will be fight among CHN WS players and CHN is too crowded with so many excellent players...I really enjoy watching WX, very skilfull, excellent backhand flick return and poise when you consider that she does not have much international experience.

Thanks. :) There are so many girls with 'Wang' surname. :D Wang Lin, Wang Yihan, Wang Shixian, Wang Xin.
ctjcad 09-20-2009, 01:59 AM WSX 2 more pts from glory..up 19-11...WL has been reacting & making errors in the 3rd game..now 19-13..
kuwichert 09-20-2009, 01:59 AM Since their opponents in final are from China too, they decide to withdraw? How shameful!!!
yep- this is China, the War was won already, that's it. The only task of today is given to LD - we gonna cheer up BP later on:D
jasonmarc 09-20-2009, 01:59 AM WL is losing.............11 - 17
OneToughBirdie 09-20-2009, 01:59 AM Thanks. :) There are so many girls with 'Wang' surname. :D Wang Lin, Wang Yihan, Wang Shixian, Wang Xin.
Wang or Wong is the top 5 most popular surname in CHN.
yd0911 09-20-2009, 02:00 AM yep- this is China, the War was won already, that's it. The only task of today is given to LD - we gonna cheer up BP later on:D
Hihihihi, I think the reverse. LD is my fav MS so go LD!!!:p
suetyan 09-20-2009, 02:01 AM wow, WSX bt WL!!! 21-14, 14-21, 21-14
kar_mun 09-20-2009, 02:01 AM Lol, identical score in 3 sets. WSX won 21-14, 14-21, 21-14. Congratulations to WSX.
ctjcad 09-20-2009, 02:01 AM wow, 3 straight games w/identical scoreline...and WSX secures it with another one of her excellent net shots which WL failed to clear..congrats!!..
WSX jumps, raises her hands, claps and squeals in exuberance!!..
yd0911 09-20-2009, 02:01 AM Wang or Wong is the top 5 most popular surname in CHN.
I know, but it looks like now is the time those Wang girls emerge. Before them, there are a number of Zhang in the women. :D Zhang Ning, Zhang Jiewen, Zhang Dan, Zhang Yawen....
OneToughBirdie 09-20-2009, 02:02 AM If I'm not wrong, she's 19. She lost to saina at the semi final of last year's world junior championship. She seems to improve a lot already, i wonder can saina still win against her.
WX and WSX can only get better...the key to improvement is to have the best training partners and coaches, and the world's top WS players are all in CHN.
yd0911 09-20-2009, 02:02 AM Good job Wang Shixian!!!
limsy 09-20-2009, 02:02 AM wl lost,i lost too
congrates to wsx and clely^^
jasonmarc 09-20-2009, 02:02 AM WSX won.........well done
suetyan 09-20-2009, 02:02 AM China Master is always an event to born new stars. In 2006, WL bt ZN, XXF and etc at the at of 17 to win the CM06. In 2009, WSX bt WYH, LL, WL at the age of 19 to win the CM09!!
kuwichert 09-20-2009, 02:03 AM Hihihihi, I think the reverse. LD is my fav MS so go LD!!!:p
Indonesia cheers up LD? What's wrong with the worlld ??
yd0911 09-20-2009, 02:04 AM WX and WSX can only get better...the key to improvement is to have the best training partners and coaches, and the world's top WS players are all in CHN.
Even Zhou Mi, Pi Hongyan, and Xu Huaiwen are originally from China.
loweechng 09-20-2009, 02:04 AM fixed to create new star
yd0911 09-20-2009, 02:06 AM Indonesia cheers up LD? What's wrong with the worlld ??
LLLOOOLLLL, what's wrong anyway? I don't like INA MS especially TH. :D
kuwichert 09-20-2009, 02:06 AM China Master is always an event to born new stars. In 2006, WL bt ZN, XXF and etc at the at of 17 to win the CM06. In 2009, WSX bt WYH, LL, WL at the age of 19 to win the CM09!!

OneToughBirdie 09-20-2009, 02:07 AM wow, 3 straight games w/identical scoreline...and WSX secures it..congrats!!..
WSX jumps and squeals in exhuberance!!..
WL, WX, WSX, ZL, LL, WYH, JYJ and more will emerge in the near future...what a dogfight to make the top 2/3/4 in CHN national team for OLY, AG and WC. CHN national championship will be far more competitive than any SS, a great problem to have for CHN badminton association...now, will selection be based on merits or favoritism?;)
Wing SX really impressed today. she stepped onto the court playing as calm and composed as a veteran. outpacing senior WL by half a step and displayed some exquisite netshot that baffled not only WL.
despite a temporary lack of breath in the 2nd game, WSX continued her winning streak in the 3rd.
WL displayed her normal game with one of the best elegance technique, but i still believe that she lack the sting and killer instinct. played too nice girl, too soft. WSX on the other end of the spectrum, her technique is a bit rough and at times awkward, despite that it is very effective on the net and drops.
congrats to WSX !
kuwichert 09-20-2009, 02:08 AM better looking girl got it, that's ok, let's hurry to MS, hope the XD will be short also,
how long is CCTV going to broadcast? Can we watch BP?
suetyan 09-20-2009, 02:10 AM I think Han Jingna will be the happiest person after the victory of WSX.
suetyan 09-20-2009, 02:11 AM Hmm... today black shirts bring lucks to players :D DJ/YY, WSX are also wearing black shirts. Now, XZB/ZYW are also wearing black shirt. Does this indicate XZB/ZYW will win? Let's see :D
spoileddelights 09-20-2009, 02:11 AM XD's starting..
OneToughBirdie 09-20-2009, 02:12 AM Even Zhou Mi, Pi Hongyan, and Xu Huaiwen are originally from China.
That is true, include WC and YJ too...and isn't it sad that the rest of the world has to rely on 30+ something, aging, fading star players with lots of mileage in their legs to compete against CHN's armada of young stars with fresh legs;)
yd0911 09-20-2009, 02:12 AM WL, WX, WSX, ZL, LL, WYH, JYJ and more will emerge in the near future...what a dogfight to make the top 2/3/4 in CHN national team for OLY, AG and WC. I think China team don't quite like Zhu Lin. She wasn't included in Uber Cup team and Sudirman Cup, and wasn't sent to World Championship. Is she hard to manage or something?
yd0911 09-20-2009, 02:13 AM Hmm... today black shirts bring lucks to players :D DJ/YY, WSX are also wearing black shirts. Now, XZB/ZYW are also wearing black shirt. Does this indicate XZB/ZYW will win? Let's see :D
I don't like XZB/ZYW so I hope the young players will win. :p
jasonmarc 09-20-2009, 02:13 AM Hmm... today black shirts bring lucks to players :D DJ/YY, WSX are also wearing black shirts. Now, XZB/ZYW are also wearing black shirt. Does this indicate XZB/ZYW will win? Let's see :D
Suetyan....LD wear Yellow also can win lah........lol :D no color jinx for him lah...:D
yd0911 09-20-2009, 02:14 AM That is true, include WC and YJ too...and isn't it sad that the rest of the world has to rely on 30+ something, aging, fading star players with lots of mileage in their legs to compete against CHN's armada of young stars with fresh legs;)
Even USA players are mostly Chinese or Asian. And AUS player, Huang Chia-Chi, and BEL and NZ player has Indonesian Chinese blood. So Chinese dominates women's badminton. :D
suetyan 09-20-2009, 02:15 AM Suetyan....LD wear Yellow also can win lah........lol :D no color jinx for him lah...:D
haha, except LD. :p
yd0911 09-20-2009, 02:15 AM Suetyan....LD wear Yellow also can win lah........lol :D no color jinx for him lah...:D
How do you know LD wearing yellow? Have you seen him warm-up?
OneToughBirdie 09-20-2009, 02:16 AM I think China team don't quite like Zhu Lin. She wasn't included in Uber Cup team and Sudirman Cup, and wasn't sent to World Championship. Is she hard to manage or something?
I think the players selected are better than her.
ctjcad 09-20-2009, 02:19 AM Wang XL looking sharp and alert so far..Tao JM looking a bit nervy..Veterans ahead 6-3..
yd0911 09-20-2009, 02:19 AM I think the players selected are better than her.
Not so sure. ZL was a world champ. If I'm not wrong, WL or WYH or JYJ (which one of them) was chosen to play in Uber Cup or Sudirman Cup, but they haven't been World Champ.
yd0911 09-20-2009, 02:20 AM Ah, come on, juniors!
ctjcad 09-20-2009, 02:24 AM WXL's anticipation & shuttle placement is good..However, veterans ahead 11-6 @ interval. Seems like TJM is having a hard time moving and positioning himself around the court..
yd0911 09-20-2009, 02:25 AM 14-7 for XZB/ZYW
kar_mun 09-20-2009, 02:26 AM Not so sure. ZL was a world champ. If I'm not wrong, WL or WYH or JYJ (which one of them) was chosen to play in Uber Cup or Sudirman Cup, but they haven't been World Champ.
Both WL and WYH are included in the Surdiman Cup but only WYH played at the Surdiman Cup. I think ZL's out of the battle already. It doesn't seem like China will chose her for the major events.
The veterans are ahead 14-8 now.
jasonmarc 09-20-2009, 02:28 AM How do you know LD wearing yellow? Have you seen him warm-up?
No, not yet...i was just to implied that LD dont jinx by colors he wear....thats all...........
Suetyan can get what i means.......but not you lah...hahaha
yd0911 09-20-2009, 02:28 AM Both WL and WYH are included in the Surdiman Cup but only WYH played at the Surdiman Cup. I think ZL's out of the battle already. It doesn't seem like China will chose her for the major events.
The veterans are ahead 14-8 now.
ZL isn't originally from CBA, right? She was recruited because she played great.
17-11 for X/Z
ctjcad 09-20-2009, 02:32 AM For some reason the junior pair is having a hard time converting their defense into offense. TJM seems to enjoy lifting and clearing the shuttles for ZXB to spank down.
Veterans win 1st game..
suetyan 09-20-2009, 02:32 AM they are playing the song sung by LYB, LD, CY, FHF, BCL and CJ :D

Yeah, we all can't wait for MS. :p
yd0911 09-20-2009, 02:46 AM The juniors equalize. 13-13 now.
ctjcad 09-20-2009, 02:47 AM It's a cat and mouse affair as both pairs show a 14 all score..ZYW seems to be a bit intimidated by TJM..
suetyan 09-20-2009, 02:48 AM He's that old????
yup, he is not considered as a junior anymore. Together with CZB, SJJ, they are also 23 or 24 already.

Yesterday both men played funny. They played 3 sets. LD won easily 21-7 in the last set, and BP lost 4-21 in the second set. Sooo strange!!!:D
ctjcad 09-20-2009, 02:54 AM the juniors rally & force a rubber game...TJM's defense is definitely not a good sight..

Maybe there's a similar chemical to doping but if it is really doping, Lin Dan will be caught. He's never caught so it must be alright for a player to use the medicine. Probably it's just a tonic or power drink like Gatorade or Powerade.

Congratulation to Lin Dan winning another title as expected. However, I do agree with the Chinese commentator that it will be harder and harder for Lin Dan to be as dominating as he once was for the upcoming years.
Boonsak certainly did his home work well directing most of the traffic to Lin Dan forehand and showed us you can challenge Lin Dan in different way without heavily relying on the speed and power like Chong Wei did. Park Sung Hwan also showed us different aspect of playing against Lin Dan able to drag into rubber.
For Team China, there should be concern as Chen Jin is not really as good as one might think and has proven not making smart decision when the game is on the line while playing against Boonsak in semi.
I also agree with the commentator that if Lin Dan is given 100 point then Chong Wei should be about 95 and Boonsak is around 90. For the upcoming tournaments, I expect to see Park Sung Hwan excels so is Tien Minh. Lets see what happen on the coming Japan Open.

dont get me started on the CCTV commentators. throughtout the matches what they ever did was to pick on the mistakes/errors, no matter however minor of the world class players. giving the impression that they could have done better, when they were younger and still playing. who they think they are? useless losers!!!

looking ahead in 3 yrs time at 2012 london. i cant see either LD or LCW will be gold medal contender, well passed their best and too old for the MS title. at the moment only Chen Jin and Chen Long are favorites for the olympics 2012. cant see anyone else from any of the top countries. but then again how long will it take a natural talent to becomes someone good enough for london 2012? 18 to 24 months may be? so, still time for someone to challenge the title in london.

Maybe you are looking too far ahead from where you are sitting, you may need a tall stool so you can stretch your neck to look further:D:p I may concur with you CL/CJ are favorites, esp CL who can only improve from where he is at now. LCW played so much that when London OLY comes calling, he is 30 something and may be irrelevant, but then he may be loaded up and ready for retirement;) If LD still remains the top gun in CHN, he can be the favorite and that depends on how motivated he is to be a 2x gold medal winner, which for sure will be history making. OLY12 gold winner may very well comes from CHN. How about INA Dionysisus, cos someone has to represent INA when in OLY12, SDK and TH are irrelevant by then too. The big question would be how INA developes this player that in 2012 he would have the right tools and experience to take on the world's best.
OneToughBirdie 09-20-2009, 12:33 PM There is <3yrs away from OLY12....the current MAS juniors have no chance and there is insufficient time to develop the next batch of MAS juniors to contest for OLY12 honors...as for KOR, PSH is approaching senior citizen status in baddy, DEN none...that remains INA maybe there is hope...as for CHN, it is a dogfight in MS and catfight in WS, just watch each time a CHN WS lost to her compatriot, they just touch hands, cold and smile-less, ready to pock her opponent eyes, unlike TH and LCW hugging and slapping each other backside with their rackets (I wonder what that means, over to you Hauge to explain) :D:p

Of course badminton had doping tests regularly at all the events played. As far as I know, only few players used doping and got punished by BWF.
hcpoirot 09-20-2009, 02:14 PM Though its true, it will be harder for LD to be as dominating in years to come specially for gold medal in 2012 because of age, but the comentator and all people forgetting that not only LD is getting older but all of his main rivals too.
From LCW, BP, Sonny DK, PSH , BCL, Taufik will in his 30s and Peter Gade probably retired. They all will also be a bit slow too.
The only youngsters who had all what it takes to beat and win all of them are only CJ and CL so far.

BP and coaching staff definitely did their homework for the CM. For BP to take out PG and CJ, BP has a customized strategy for each of his foes. Maybe misbun and rashid should study how BP play against LD.
on the same equation, it also showed that LD accolade is well deserved. Having opponents hitting u with new arsenal but is able to dig deep in his toolbox to find new gears to fend off those new weapons, LD has lot of gears:p

Agree.
It's sad to see the damage they do to each other when both LCW and LD played for 60+ minutes. LCW got hurt before the match was over and LD was all taped up for his match in the finals. Maybe they shouldn't meet often or if so, in the finals.
It's hard to see CJ doing better than before because mentally, CJ comes across as very steady, unlike LD (before he won his first WC) and LCW ( if his bosses can be smarter). Usually, as players mature and their skills peak, any progress is seen on the mental side.(eg RS of Singapore who probably will compete better now than before) So CJ is unlikely to make progress on the mental front.
CL is much touted. He's impressive now because of his training opportunities. The fact that CJ had to let go G2 to win in G3 over CL suggests CL knows enough of CJ's game to defeat him with his edge in stamina. I don't think CL will be another LD.
My guess for 2012 will be a present-day KOR youngster or an old timer.

KOR is producing world class double players since god know when consistently, but cant say the same for singles. they do have the facilities if they find a LYD equivalent in single to prepare him for london 2012. the other hope will be for INA to find someone like TH, soon. still remember the old days in the 80s when both CHN and INA (even DEN) have loads of great players gunning against each other. rather than now the best we can hope for is LD vs LCW, its just getting a bit boring and predicatable.

Good point.
Except that after watching a LCW vs LD match, other MS matches seem like slow motion!
LM looks like starting to show some results with the (younger) KOR MS and WS now.Only consistency will be proof of his efforts.
Both CHN and KOR are similar in the sense that they produce faster because they use the precision 'pressure cooker' method.
Whereas MAS and INA seem to use the 'slow cooker' way which can cook but not always that well.
Anyway Morten Frost is now coach of DEN youngsters so there should be hope for DEN. From what I've seen, MF is a great tactician, not common among coaches. So DEN MS may win with their edge on tactics.
Be hopeful. The future looks exciting, not just LCW and LD!
AlanY 09-21-2009, 07:37 AM off topics now, talking about boring matches. the domination of the CHN women that i wouldn't pay to watch the Uber Cup even if they're playing next door!
