In msia, there isnt any local league but there are lotta friendly matches between social badminton groups.

Usually its 5doubles matches and each team take out 2 to 10 tube of shuttlecock and the winner take all the leftover.

I wonder if this trend is also happening overseas?

Not over here. But I remember when I went to China, every club night, we would play for bottles of gatorade/smokes. Simply 3 set match of doubles, the losers would have to fork out of a bottle of gatorade for each of the winners or two smokes. Made every club night really fun and enjoyable. Friendly competition meant we never got bored. Plus they were all a great bunch of guys.

It's to even the playing field. If the winners keep smoking, then the losers will be able to catch up.

hahaha... that's good! Like in GT races where winning car has to add Weight..

By the way in CHINA, everything is "yen-jiu, Yen-jiu"

Yen-jiu sounds like research

separately

Yen = cigarates

jiu = alcohol

So usually, ppl will say lets go *research" (Yen-jiu)!!! :D

wow, nothing over here in the states like that, but there are a few clubs open in the bay area in california where we can sign up and play with people we don't know and generally, everyone is really friendly. we only bet with opponents who are also our friends, but normally, each team supplies birdies equally.
