yep folks, the finals are on the way now, lets cheer first of all our veterans Kidawan in MD (sorry Tony and Howard, but this time I'm gonna cheer the other team :) but its great to see you both in the finals :cool:) and of course Taufik who's gonna grab his first SS title (as I've learned last days :eek:, but it's just because SS is not that old as Taufik already keeps on climbing to the top:D) - if he doesn't fool around in first game there should not be a problem to put BC on the second seat. Anyway, lets wait for the thrilling matches and lets pray (at least the ones without Astro access LOL) that Shanghai sports will not stop broadcasting again :confused:

i think CHN played ok. Ma/Wang isn't the top pair but played consistent.

Maeda/Suetsuna was close. really close. they played hard but lack ability to take points. there don't seem to be much killer shots, just drop drop smash smash drive drive. they tried to take chances by rushing the net but the China are smarter than that and capitalize on the hole created. have to give them credit for never giving up.

In last yr's OG, Maeda & Suetsuna came in as underdogs vs. ZJW & YW. Yet they surprised everyone (i thought they had the momentum after they won the 2nd game and the CHN pair seemed to be taxed & tired in the 3rd game). When i was there, even after they had defeated the CHN pair, i didn't think they would go very far because they had to play LKW & LHJ in the next round. But despite the loss with the final scoreline of 22-20 & 21-16 in the Semis, it showed that they are really a pair not to be overlooked. Today, they ran into a more youthful CHN pair than the one they faced last yr.
