..so far, only Kido & Setiawan have shined for INA & won both the Denmark and French Open SS (last yr)..Flandy & Vita won the French Open XD title in 2007..

What are their chances of success in both?? It depends on how stiff the competition will be (is the CHN squad going to send its full 1st team)?? M'sia squad?? KOR squad??..

To answer the original post:
Can we? Yes of course we can, as we have capability and possibility to do that :)
Will we? Errr.... I dunno, depends on our LUCK :D :D
So far INA only get 2 out of 40 SS titles overall :(
Hope INA players will fare better in Den and Fra
Good Luck :) :)

Really depend on other countries participants and draw.

Markis K and Hendra S had the most high chances to win Denmark or French as long as they did not meet JJS/LYD.

Women singles and women doubles, very very hard to win.

Mix doubles, even if China and Korea did not send their strongest pairs, Denmark pairs will also very tough to beat. NOva not at his best anymore.

Men singles. Depend if Lin Dan play or not. :)

i don't know, its home ground for the Europeans... so they are playing in favour with their crowd and comfort. Peter Gade took home both Denmark/French last yr, I think Tine R. won as well... but we'll see. Best of luck for everyone.

Yeah, so sad that Maria Kristin's WR is #48 now (per 01 October 2009, newly updated through BWF website). For woman category, not pessimistic but on paper slim prospect to win title in both SS.

Answer for thread question -- Yes, INA can win title in DEN & FRA SS, likely through MD discipline as best chance.

"Is Obama an Indonesia citizen" was a hot topic back in 2008,
so his photo is fine if that would help INA win titles...

..Sure there are reports of that hot topic and there is a pic, circulating online, showing a paperwork of him attending a school in INA.
But, AFAIK, there has never been an official paperwork showing him being a legal citizen of INA, while he was a kid back in the 60s. Even during that time, a person didn't have to be a legal INA citizen to attend an Indonesian school. Plus the process for one to become an INA citizen from another citizenship is not easy. Usual time is 5 yrs, but could be hasten if one marries an INA citizen.
So, there is no real evidence or proof he was ever an INA citizen. Only a bunch of questions & all based on assumptions.

Well, that might be a good news for Obama, because Lolo Soetoro registered Barry Soetoro as a Indonesian citizen born Aug. 4, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Even once a Indonesia Citizen, that would not necessarily disqualify Obama as the president. Obama's biggest problem is the rumor that he may have been born in his father's home country of Kenya. That will definitely disqualify his presidency.

Therefore, Barry Soetoro register card verified that he was born in Hawaii, that's a good news for Obama.

There was never a solid argument to approve or disapprove. But one thing is sure. He was once apart of Indonesian community. Having a white mother, with kenyan immigrant father, childhood in Indonesia with a Indonesian muslim stepfather, teenage years with white grandparents, grown up to be a black american Christian. He is a global citizen who owned so much support from foreigners. Though the best answer on his credibility is best left to the Americans!

Indonesians can claim Obama to be apart of them. They can use Yes, We can! slogan.

- It's not about whether he was born in the U.S. or not. That argument is probably no longer valid. It's about whether he was an INA citizen or not.
- Yes, there was a never a solid argument/proof to prove or disapprove that he was ever an INA citizen.
- Being & feeling as one of the citizens of a country is different than not being one.
- Just because he was adopted not because he wanted to but out of necessity?

Was Barry @ Barrack an Indonesian back then is not important. It isn't, IMO. It is interesting to figure out but wasn't important. I am sure if he remembered his childhood there, that would be the best clarification. Indonesia is apart of his life journey. He need not find out or determine whether or not he was once an Indonesian.

Indonesians can always use this as fact, i am fine with it. It bothers me when people exaggerating and argue to death on this. I found a forum with a thread on this issue. so ..what for? No conclusion.

Chris, a single issue on Obama is interesting, huh? "Sky falling" thread is wide enough to cover. :p

Hmmm yes, as usual INA biggest chance to grab title come from MD
Furthermore, MK/HS had to defend their titles from Den and Fra SS to maintain their WR pts and rankings
Otherwise their WR will drop :(
Fortunately LYD/JJS skip both tourney, and CY/FHF only compete in Fra SS
But there still KKK/TBH around, ready to claim back WR #1 position as their pts gap just a close behind
For MS and XD, though the chances are quite slim, lets hope INA players perform well in both tourneys
As for WS and WD, i expecting some upsets (read: miracles) from them
Btw how bout Greysia Polii?
Her name still on the list, though
Hope she back in her best shape, already :) :)

Ow, no, 'Boleh' slogan has always been Malaysia's trademark.

Indonesia is yet to find their own cheering chant. "Indonesia Bisa" isn't cool enough.
So, temporarily, I suggest using "Indonesia? Yes, we can!"

why there is no affiliation in the profile for people puting their team there, or why not use location for the nation or association they support, like Suetyan did. That way, people can read easily.

- Some members only support individual players, even from many countries, and could care less abt being associated or a loyal supporter of a particular team or country or association.
- badMania also supports the HK team or maybe some of its players, besides supporting his main association, Indonesia.

additionnal to all what is correctly said already, we also have to cheer underdogs fighting for their lifes and making the tournaments more intersting  as well as we have to care about the cuties on court too:eek:, sometimes the matches are not interesting, but there must be a reason to keep the eyes on the courts!
sometimes we also simply need to cheer the oposites of teams which deserve to get some punishment :D for whatever the reason is - like skipping tournaments without a real reason:mad: , setting up matches :mad: or whatever disappoints the fans of fair and great badminton sports :mad::mad:

We have seen that some other clubs other than PB Djarum (PB Mutiara, Tangkas, and Suryanaga) have started sending their players to regional tourneys.

The domestic circuit (SirNas) is also very interesting to follow this year, with more money being poured in by Djarum as the sponsor.

Now, winners can get at least Rp10m, which is considered a huge sum of money for locals.
