Only on weekends, you can even book the court and the spot on weekdays! And RM10 is quite expensive, but if you invite 4 friends and split the cost up it won't be that pricey. ksooi 11-05-2002, 07:17 PM Anyone knows of any good place with coaching in Penang. Don't know if you M'sians know a Michael Barbosa. Wonder if he is still coachin? Joanne 11-25-2002, 08:41 AM I invite my own friends. It isn't like a club or anything. It's just a badminton hall where you go and play. Joanne 02-13-2003, 02:00 AM Well....they've raised the price........:( You know, it's going to be sooo expensive soon. but it's the most convenient place for me to play, only 2-3 mins drive or a less then 10 min walk there! Someone tell them to be reasonable!!!! ronk 02-14-2003, 04:56 PM Where is Taman Megah badminton hall? Is it near Cheras somewhere? There is an intersection there. The road that crosses Federal highway goes north and bends to the east. It goes past Kelena Jaya. Drive another 10 mins to SS23 or thereabouts. . The hall is just off the main road. ronk 02-14-2003, 06:07 PM Cheung, Not really sure where Motorola is at, but if it is in the SS range, it must be somewhere after Petaling Jaya. So it is in that end of Selangor in the east somewhere. How come you know where Taman Megah is (from HK, SAR)? You know everything :)! Ron Bbn 02-14-2003, 06:32 PM Taman Megah is next to well known DamansaraJaya/Utama in PJ. Only courts near me that have 3 courts (that I know of) is SK Taman SEA and TTDI. SJK Yuk Chai has 4 I believe, DU court has 3 or 4. But now I mostly play at SK Taman SEA because my coach let us play there free..:p aiz_dean 06-13-2004, 04:37 AM Yeah, I accepted your request, and no, it isn't that crowded on weekdays. That's rather far.. besides I think you don't know this but I'm only 13 years old. ;) My parents would never allow me to play with internet people.. sorry. What does seriously mean? I represent my school.. I train twice a week. Is that serious? aiz_dean 06-15-2004, 10:32 AM hello.. ohh.. you are 13 :p .. i thought are about 18 - 25.. it's ok.. at least you train twice in a week.. like me,, dont have any training.. just in school holiday we play.. :o Pecheur 06-15-2004, 04:43 PM hello.. Joanne,, r u sure u r 13?? cuz i read some thread tat u want to play with somebody else in PJ/KL (get-gathering).. ******** **************************** **********.. I think you misread that thread, she wasn't going to play with them, she just wanted to know where the hall was so she could check where it was in her own time. As for her being 13, well she's been claiming to be around that age (allowing for a birthday) as long as she's been here and I believe her. Read posts carefully before jumping to conclusions. aiz_dean 06-16-2004, 12:03 PM it is ok if you said tat so.. sorry joanne.. Joanne 06-18-2004, 08:05 AM No problem :) But I don't see that post around.. besides the quote. Tomorrow I'll be going for the Badminton Clinic held by Help Institute in Megah. Found out about it today, got the form and am going tomorrow. Yes, very last minute:rolleyes: Hehe. ants 06-18-2004, 10:12 AM No problem :) But I don't see that post around.. besides the quote. Tomorrow I'll be going for the Badminton Clinic held by Help Institute in Megah. Found out about it today, got the form and am going tomorrow. Yes, very last minute:rolleyes: Hehe. All the best. Dont forget to bring you camera there. Wong CH will be around. I might drop by during the trainning sessions. Joanne 06-18-2004, 11:12 AM All the best. Dont forget to bring you camera there. Wong CH will be around. I might drop by during the trainning sessions. Well, if it's the same thing with last year, they'll just be teaching us the basics. Then again, last year I was late for it as the prefect teacher didn't let me out of the Prefect Anual General Meeting. I remember how mad I was by the time it was over. Lol! Last year I remember there were so few girls so a coach grouped us all together and started teaching us footwork. Most of the girls didn't even know how to serve properly you see, they didn't train before. I remembered how amazed he was when he saw my friend and I could actually DO the footwork! Anyway, that gives me something to look forward to. Hopefully I'll enjoy myself, hoping to get some free time to play. Mr. Ong actually asked my friend and I to attend one of his group lessons tomorrow but as this Badminton Clinic is once a year.. and we got a free T-Shirt last year :D(Kiasu? YES). mirrura 06-18-2004, 11:29 AM since you are discussing this badminton clinic, I might as well post the link here. The HELP institute will be going to various states for the clinic. I'm not sure whether this is the appropriate place for posting this. Anyway...here it is: http://www.help.edu.my/news/events/87_badminton.php wubuseah 06-18-2004, 12:05 PM lol..any possibility of registering on the spot? Joanne 06-20-2004, 09:43 PM You asked too late wubuseah. Yes, I believe it was possible. Just take a form, fill it up hand it up and join the clinic. The clinic was pretty much as I expected.. just like a normal coaching lesson in Megah. At least my coach remembered I used to train there and put me in the more.. 'advance' group? I invited a friend and he's quite good, but they don't know him so he got put in the group where they just taught you lobbing and net. Hehe. Wanted to go for Mr. Ong's group training after that but my friend didn't want to..:( Oh well. And they didn't give a free shirt! One negative thing about Megah is that the lights are too low.. lost many good shuttles due to that. aiz_dean 07-04-2004, 08:36 AM hi joanne.. so u went to badminton clinic.. they use english language or malay language?? i am asking because my english not pretty well.. is there malay people?? give me some info about it ok.. and what they teach who are there.. INFO PLZ.. ;) Joanne 07-06-2004, 08:29 PM hi joanne.. so u went to badminton clinic.. they use english language or malay language?? i am asking because my english not pretty well.. is there malay people?? give me some info about it ok.. and what they teach who are there.. INFO PLZ.. ;) They spoke English there, but I believe if you asked the coaches to speak to you in Malay they would. Malay kids there? Pasti ada ;). At least in that clinic only. What info do you want? About..? The Clinic? That was ancient history.. Hehe. Looking forward to the Badminton Tournament coming up now. aiz_dean 07-18-2004, 03:47 AM hello.. what tournament is coming up?? i mean info about the clinic is about the price, the coaches, the people that come, the tactics they teach, and any more u know about it.. plzz tell me.. rontan_84 09-08-2004, 10:43 AM You asked too late wubuseah. Yes, I believe it was possible. Joanne 11-05-2004, 06:35 AM Ah.. had 4 and a half hours of badminton in Megah today. Hehe. Guest I have sent you a private message for the Taman Megah badminton hall's number. Well, today when I played until 6.30pm no one played after me.. every other court was being used though. You can call them up and try asking. Extremesmash 11-23-2004, 09:49 AM tekan michael lee lah. Joanne 06-16-2005, 09:13 AM Badminton Clinic Series 2005 coming up next week, 25th June, Saturday by Help Institute in Megah. Good time to visit old coaches. Bak Kut Teh 06-19-2005, 03:57 AM Any idea what time is it going to start ? Joanne 06-19-2005, 06:31 AM I emailed them, they said 'about 3.30pm to 7pm'. No doubt it won't start at 3.30pm though, Malaysian time mah. Lol. Plus the word 'about' there. But beginning quite boring wan.. they'll promote Help Institute by some talk. Gets a bit more interesting when you get to see the display match.. and they'll train us some really really basic strokes later on. Simple, but fun. Get to see old friends too. The objective? To get us school kids to attend their college in the future.;) ants 06-19-2005, 09:24 AM  puchong there also really expensive la my fren. its about RM20 per hour... and min time play is 2 hour... dead lol Well , people also have to make money as well. It takes alot of investment to build a badminton court. asus493 07-19-2005, 10:53 AM im a normal player niah..but willing t o learn..any1 can join me in pls...me staying very near to taman megah....i want play badminton....!!!!!!:crying: kenken 07-21-2005, 12:14 PM Heyo all, Was just wondering how much is the current price for playing at Megah now? I'm returning from canada for a few weeks in august; looking for some casual games to have fun. Asus and Joanne, maybe we can meet there to play...IF you don't mind playing with lousy fella :p Never had proper lessons so you'll be up against my famous (or rather infamous) "ROJAK STYLE" Take c kEN wilfredlgf 07-24-2005, 11:14 PM Take note, Joanne's an academy and school representative. Underestimate her at your own peril. :) kenken 07-26-2005, 11:05 PM haha yeah i know, that's why i said "IF you don't mind playing with lousy player" :D Joanne 08-08-2005, 09:03 AM Take note, Joanne's an academy and school representative. Underestimate her at your own peril. :) Lol! I'm only a school player. Not even a district player.:( How great can I be? Have you seen how some 'school players' play during MSSD? Anyway, RM14 per hour on weekdays I believe. More on weekend. Asus if you're willing to learn many are willing to teach.;) Many good coaches around, you just have to ask. Hehehe. Or just find a group to join, I assure you you'll improve a lot by playing games with them. I play against some people who've never been trained before, and lost to them. Lesson to be learned? Don't underestimate the uncles out there. They are deceptive! Surreal 08-11-2005, 05:29 AM Uncles .............. ? :D Joanne gotta be really good. It's just sad that I have no chance to even catch a glimpse of her since I knew her here in 2002.Even now , playing in the Help Community thingy , thought maybe I can like meet her.Haha... :( Joanne 08-11-2005, 10:30 AM Lol! Yes, 'uncles'. What else can I call them? Misters? ;) Well.. I really wanted to join the tournament this year.. but it's too close to trials plus I was SUPPOSED to be busy this Saturday.. so if I managed to survive through the rounds I would have to sacrifice one or the other on Saturday. I figured I'd make life easier and give it up just this once.;) Too bad the haze spoiled my plans.. the Saturday thing is off. Life's like that I guess. But no, I'm not good. Lol. Maybe just better than girls who don't train. *Shrugs* By any chance if you read this, what time are the games starting tomorrow? I may want to drop by and watch if the haze isn't that bad(though it's getting worse). rikrydle 08-13-2005, 02:07 PM Hey guys how is the court over at Tmn Megah? As the place that I'm playing is about to close down, we have to look around for alternative places to play. Also how much are the rates there on weekends and weekdays after 6pm? Hope its not too pack in the evening. If possible maybe someone can let me know their phone no to call. Thanks |
