Hello fellow badminton lovers,

I wish to buy a pair of shoes that would offer me the best of cushioning and stability. I am a heavy set player (200+ lbs) and have weak ankles. For my weight I move pretty well on the court and do jump and smash.
I researched the site but could not come to a sound conclusion.

Please help.

Thanks!!

Our lovely panda has the same problem. He is heavy but well build who jumps too. However, he does have strong ankles from climbing bamboos. Our conversation on shoes always ends up, Yonex LTDs are best design (might not last the longest) for him. So, if the budget is not an issue and your ankles are more important, I will suggest you to give the current SHB101LTD a try. For me, SHB100LX (sorry, no 101LX) fits me the best because of my narrow feet.

recommend to have either Superfeet Green or Blue insole as well to add more cushion to the shoe.

for me, the best is the Ascis Gel Rocket with Superfeet Green or Blue, which minimized my knee and ankle issues.

I agree!! I use Superfeet Green insole in my current shoes. However I find my Yonex Shoes not cushioned enough. Maybe I have them worn out and need a new replacement. Are the Ascis Gel Rocket volleyball shoes or meant for most Indoor sports?

Thanks again! I appreciate your help.

YY recently unveil a SHB200 model badminton shoes. They say that it has special cushioning and support for "special" badminton enthusiasts.
Couldn't remember that great sport company for it's meticulous RND on its sport products that includes shoes. I am certain that it is the only present popular shoemaker that it has the only mid-rise badminton shoes that gives great solution to ankles! Leave you into that for research in google or actual window shopping like an agent, hehe. Good Luck :D

Asics Gel Rocket (4 is the latest model) are meant for "multicourt", according to Asics. Overall, people find it very good for indoor sports, such as volleyball, racquet, and of course, badminton.
