Hi all, we are about to launch our latest sport feeding machine and are just in the process of getting feedback from end users. Does anyone who has used a machine have feedback on what they liked and what they didn't like? This new machine is going to come in around the $3000 range and be completely automated. What type of automated drills would be usefull for you?
Best,

Is this going to be like the BlackKnight Knight trainer?
Good drills (in my humble opinion) would be:
Smash defense (machine feeding smashes for the user to return)
Dropshot, netshot, dropshot (the machine giving you one high feed to hit a dropshot from, one tight feed to hit a netshot from, one high feed etc, etc
Basic forehand overhead shots (just repeated high feeds that the user could drop, clear or smash)
Backhand overhead shots (repeated high feeds for the user to hit a backhand drop, clear or smash)
Some of those drills would be quite complex to create (I imagine) but if you could produce them, I could see this being a really useful tool. Another function I would really like to see is a random setting whereby the machine would feed you a random selection of shots to play. I'm sure other people will have some good ideas for what the Badminton Canon should do as well.

Excellent input. The machine can ocillate from left to right as well as change speed of birds. So far programs include, 1) Random, 2) LOB/Drop, 3) Decay (the machine shoots a group of birds with one interval and then the interval decreases. Both the size of the grouping and the starting and ending interval can be selected. This is great for putting footwork under more and more pressure) AND 4) Interval training. It is simillar to the Knight trainer only it is more sophisticated, simpler mechanically, and much less expensive. It is also much smaller so individuals may be interested in purchasing it.
I'll keep you posted as to what we are up to.

i would think $3000 CAD would be much too expensive though a machine like that sounds like a pretty good idea.

It would also be nice if the machine moved up and down as well, can give smash den nxt, a drive shot or lift.
Also how about customisable program? like we could hook it up to a computer and create our own shot sequence to work on? ;)
That may be a bit too much, but then again dats just my ideas:D
