View Full Version : what to do with old racket bags?
i was tidying up the garage the other day and saw the 13 racket bags that i got from purchasing my rackets. almost everybody nowadays have a 6+ racket bag to go to the gym so these are neglected. all of them are full length and are of pretty good quality as well. i find it wasteful to put them in the trash (oh god, that would be a sin), but find no use for them either. is anybody facing the same problem?

Put them up for sale at e-Bay! For 3-5 dollars, you will be surprised.

Ha...I was just gonna say that... I did see some up for bid on ebay.
Or you can do what SGVBC did, hang them on a big empty wall and see if you can cover the whole wall. :D

Hmm...noticed that this one was categorized under Racquet Sports: Badminton.
Guessed what? eBay.com do not have this category but eBay UK does. This is another indicator of the popularity of badminton in the US, eh? :)

I have one of those big gym bag that could hold 6+ racquets but I found it too bulky to carry around. I now use a smaller travel bag for my shoes and a tube of shuttles. Then I use one of the racquet bage and put two racquets in it.
That is much easier to manage. When you are sweating and tired for all the games, you would want to lug around a huge bag with all your equipments.
Ben
Sell them on ebay or use them as decorations around the house and in the car. :D

in the car? you mean use it as a sun visor or make your car seat a lether seat?

sun visor, back seat cushion, might not be as comfortable though. put them on the roof inside the car, I don't know, it's kwun's car, he can do whatever he wants. :D
here is one. stuff them with foam and make cushions out of them... that's actually not a bad idea. hehe. :)

I can envisioned it now. You come into the house and off to your right is the living room all decorated with badminton bags and accessories and racquets.
Sitting down on the couch (in the shape of a giant shuttle with a section of the features cut out for you to sit), you hug a cusion in the shape of a badminton bag.
The coffee table is actually a glass top sitting on a series of badminton shafts.
Anyone getting any ideas for badminton furniture?
:D :D :D
OMG, I just had too much time on my hands!

well it'd be even better to turn them inside out when doing that... at least for the bags that have foam inside already... :D

You can sell it for $1 (or give it away) to people at your club without full size racquet bags. I actually bought my racquet bag new for $1 :D

Ben,
A lot of people in HK do the same. They use a small ruck sack for their clothes and accesories and hang the racquet on the side.
I prefer to put my racquets in the racket bag. I can fit three in.
Using the racquet bag as a hat isn't a bad idea! You'd have the streamlined effect for time trials on cycling.
