Not too good for Malaysians as well.

In MD, Zakry/Fairuz has to play Singapore Super Series champs Clark/Robertson, and even if they pass that, they have to play one of the home pairs, who might just be inspired. JJS/LYD will be waiting at the quarters.

Koo/Tan will be hounded by ex-World Champs Tony Gunawan/Howard Bach. In their last match at the World Championship Q-Finals, the US pair outclassed them for most of the match and only lost due to Howard's impatience. If they pass the test, Rian/Yoke will surely be tempted for revenge after that narrow loss in Denmark.

In WS, it will be miraculous if WMC could extend Tine Rasmussen. The gap between them has gone too big.

In WD, despite still being seeded No 1, Wong Pei Tty/Chin Eei Hui would probably see their progress stopped at semifinals by the Chinese tomboys. Well, at least that's better than the q-final exits they normally have.

In MS, LCW has to tackle Nguyen TM in the q-finals to make up for his 2nd round exit in S'pore. But I thought he is supposed to lay off badminton till the end of the year ............

............

... well, if seeded according to their current competence, WPT/CEH nowadays should be behind all active Chinese pairs (DJ/YY, CS/ZYL, MJ/WSL, ZYW/whoever...), therefore should say they are lucky to still be seeded top 4, otherwise they should reach QF at most....

This is where a revision of the BWF ranking system is due. Something that should be able to reflect better the actual ability of players.

Since SDK doesn't get any seeding position, possibly he will face any seeded player...And tough draw, he will take on Lin Dan at first round.

If Simon and Taufik can pass R/32, they will meet each other at R/16.

R/32, Andre K. Tedjono vs Nguyen Tien Minh
Hayom Rumbaka must play qualifying round, and will challenge Boonsak Ponsana at R/32 main draw if he can qualified.

INA has decided to withdraw the two WD pairs from the draw. So, the gals will not be going to HKG & CHN SS.

relax ctjcad, just an instant response to someone's opinion...

thanks for the link anyway, though i was aware of it, as i was in the thread at one point...

for the draw, it just reflects the intention of BWF to create exciting games from round 1...

however, it is the players that suffer most...

Sony would therefore probably lose at round 1, gainning few WR points, whilst WPT's pair could proceed to at least semi-finals and get more points... although both were considered to be between the 5th to 10th best players / pairs in MS / WD respectively...

The quality of the players in Hongkong Open SS are top nocth compare to Denmark Open SS or even French Open.

In Denmark Open, Sony seeded there. But at Hongkong Open, he will play LD in first round.

For SS events, BWF should at least had 16 seeded MS and WS players.

Indeed, they have very good chance of winning, especially they seem so good in the 2nd half of every year.

I think it was pointed out before (by ye333 IIRC) that Chinese MD perform well in their home turf....MK/HS matches well with Chinese MD.....hence the good result they've been having in HK and China Open.

The draw is simply murderous though.....they might not even make it past QF... :o

Better chance for INA might be in the XD...providing they can solve LYD/LHJ...and maybe hope someone will topple MJ/ZB. ;)

I think the Chinese XD squad is having doubts, after they floundered in the World Championships.

So the rest of the world especially DEN, INA, and KOR should take up this chance to gain further glory.
