Hi Everyone
Was informed by a friend as well as a freelance retailer than the Impact Woods N90 is one of the fastest selling OEM-brand badminton racket. Priced much lower than the Li Nings, it seems to pack quite a punch and has pretty good frame durability as well.
Has anyone tried it? Reviews and thoughts?
Cheers

Is it equivalent to the Yonex knock-offs like the ArchBlade etc?

Never heard of ArchBlades, but I would think they are similar to Apacs which are doing very well at the moment.
The Impact Woods N90 seems to be doing very well online (eBay) as well. There must be something about them!

Cheersit's mostly a look alike racket. Lots of rackets out there that are head heavy and stiff.
Description
Impact Woon N90 is look alike to "Li-Ning" Wood N90 used by Lin Dan. With the characteristic of a heavy head, stiff shaft and high balance point, Wood N90 is the prefect weapon for offensive player. The racket can strung up to max 30lbs with the Isometric Square Head Shape equalizes the length of main and cross strings in the stringed, enlarging the sweetspot for more consistent accuracy even on ff-center hits.

I saw my friend is using this racket today, he just bought it, he bought at RM 160. Just now during our badminton session, I borrow this Impact Wood N90 from him. I try to play and smash, wow, it's great! And I feel comfortable when using it. My friend said the recommended tension for this Impact Wood N90 is 25lbs to 26lbs. I think I wanna buy one too, haha... since I cannot afford to buy Li Ning N90. :D

Sis suetyan (http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/member.php?u=7459): where to get impact N90 in malaysia ?
twobeer

Most likely it is the same thing as the Yonex ripp-offs-clones.. Just another basic graphite racket painted like "the real thing" :-) I am willing to bet it lacks wowen t-joint stabilizer tech, and uses cheaper graphite materials etc :-)
But same goes with this as with the YY clones... Many players just go for looks/brands.. sigh..

yeah.. But if you are looking for value-for-money, i think it is better to buy midrange rackets that are "honest", than to go for rackets that r&d consists mostly of research on how to get the colors and paintjob right...

Hehehhe....I just got the Impact N90 from AJ Puchong for RM150 with BG80 string and grip.
Anyone who is interested in this racket, please please please lower your expectation to the lowest point, if you are to compare with Li-Ning N90....actually it is best that you have zero expectation:)
Honestly, I never felt a Li-Ning N90 but I do own some APACS rackets. The Impact N90 has the exact feel as APACS Edgesaber 9, but the craftsmanship or quality of the the Impact N90 is not the best.
This is what happenned:
1) when I removed the original grip, there are pieces of wood coming of the from the handle due to the sticky grip tape:p. Therefore, I think the wood handle is made of cheap plywood and if I dont apply a layer of PVC tape on it, my sweat will penetrate through the grip and soak the wood handle...in which long term...the handle will be weaken or cracked:eek:
2) the logo badge or tag at the bottom of the handle fell off. I was showing of the racket to me friends yesterday, after a while, my friend came to me with the Impact badge dropped from me racket:eek:....I was laughed almost the whole session. At home, I used the double sided tape to stick me "pride:mad:" back on the racket.
Having said above, after modifications on the racket + huge dose of positive pills + lesson learned from buying cheaper brand rackets, the racket is absolutely fine.....happy days....
Oh, my review for the racket for Impact N90 BG80 27lbs...flex shaft...head light...or in Yonex term, it might be "Ultra Light Weight Balance with Nanotechnology:D".
All the best.
Yoppy

couldn't agree more with Potti. Its on par and not above Apacs quality. Altought mine did not have the logo tag come off as yet hihiihi.

Has anyone heard of the brand Pronex? The Pronex N90 clone is available at Honly in JB, Malaysia, two pieces going for M$179 if I recall correctly. Strings are charged separately.
