Hmm,
Its been sad that there is no thread for the places to Play in Pune , where the game was originated..

I am providing some information which i have with me about the places we can play in Pune

1. Prakash Padukone Badminton academy, Modern Colony
2. Katepuram Chowk, Pimple Gurav
3. Sai Chowk, New Sangvi
4. Pradhikaran
5. Shivaji housing society, Off Senapati Bapat Road
6. Chapekar Chowk, Chinchwad

Please post some more places where you can play/and get trained in badminton

Hi,
Is there a cost/time attached to each of these courts?
Specifically, I am looking for this information for -
1. Prakash Padukone Badminton academy, Modern Colony
2. Shivaji housing society, Off Senapati Bapat Road

Also how much earlier should i book the courts if i want a 2 hr session on a weekend?
If you have played at any of these courts, please let me know on these.

Prakash padukone academy usually picks people who played/playing in Nationals

The court at senapati bapat road has to be booked early
it charges 75/hr and there are two wooden courts available in there
you need to contact them directly for the Slot

There is one synthetic court in Sind society, Aundh. Rs 100/hr.
I`ve 2 hr slots with me for all weekends.

I am rellocating to pune, wakad towards end-Jul and am keen to join some group to continue my love for this game...looking for preferably a wooden court and membership or daily booking is fine. Level of game is intermediate...appreciate if you can help give me any leads or if possible hookup with any existing group playing nearby. thanks bros.

Some more Courts @ Pune :

1) Balewadi Sports Complex ... monthly membership fees to 500 for 1 hr , no time extensions allowed (Synthetic Turf )
2) Heerabaug Sports Complex , Swargate . (Wooden Turf )
3) College Of Engineering Pune , COEP , Shivaji Nagar , Near Sancheti Hospital , charges around 80 Rs / Hr (Synthetic Turf )

Parag , I would have to search for the numbers . Leme check . The problem would be like for any enquiry you have to essentially visit the Sports Complex ( Mon- Sat ) during working hrs : 10:00 - 05:00 .

Just a personal experience , the time slots available would be something like late mornings / late evening something like 11:00 in the mornings and as late as 10:30 in the evenings

Rest would be your luck . Would search for the number and share

There are several courts near Kothrud & carve nagar. Even you can check for Solaris club near Kothrud.

chk this link. I wen to the complex today, its Huge.. Even the badminton court are world class. Only hitch i guess is whats mentioned below by panky. Registration fees is little on higher side (around Rs.500-700 / month) and the erratic slots available.

Thanks tittymat...looks like Solaris club is full on weekends and early morning weekdays. Heard that there is a court near sarasbaug..any idea where is it located...and are they wooden courts..any details would help...thanks.

Thanks everyone for all the info. that you have shared about this wonderful game.
Even i love this game a lot.
Currently i m located in Mumbai and planning to shift to Pune (Wakad area) in couple of months.
I have been playing BD since 3-4 years in a nearby sports club but dont know much about BD courts in Wakad or nearby area.
This thread gave lot of info. that i can check for once i am in Pune.
It would be really great to meet any of you and get a chance to play together.

I doubt the chafekar chowk court is functional now a days. I`m staying close by only... heard they have closed it.

Sorry Ankur, The PCMC Badminton hall near Chapekar Chowk is operational. You may need to do booking at PCMC office.
I played there couple of weeks back with Prakash.

Hi All,

I have recently moved to Kalyani Nagar,Pune and am looking out for badminton courts in and around this area.I can pay on an hourly or monthly basis and am ok with areas like Koregaon park,VimanNagar,Kalyani Nagar,Shastri Nagar,Yerwada or Pune Station.

If you have info on courts in any of these areas then please let me know,

checked that site, but apparently most of the courts are very far away from my locality.
I think i have to check with nearby societies with club houses that have badminton courts.Will report back if positive results are found.

Found three projects that have badminton courts:clover hills,clover paradise villas and brahma emerald county but sadly none of them allow you to play.....no no for visitors.
So anybody that plays at herabaugh badminton court, if there is a place for one then i am in.

There is one near Swargate(near Mukund Nagar) called Shiv shankar hall. Its a marriage hall where they also have badminton courts. Do not have the details but you can visit and check the place.

Hi Guys, I have recently moved to Pune (Aundh) and would like to play Badminton, but dont have any partners. This is the research that I did:
1. PWD court in Sangavi (Near the water tank) - Need to book the court through PCMC in Pimpri, or find players who would let you join. There are 2 wooden courts here. Rate is 15/hr.
2. Sindh Society, Aundh - Slots seem to be available in the 9 - 11 region in mornings. One court, not wooden.
3. Belawadi, Sports complex - It seems to be closed on holidays and Sundays. 500/hr/month for one person.
I am ready to play in any of these courts or even somewhere other than this. Please contact me at 9764454980, if you interested so we can book. Also if you have already booked and can accommodate me, please let me know.
