I was playing a singles match recently and I twisted my knee somehow whilst going for a shot at the net moving forwards. I would just like to know is there are any specific streches to loosen this part of my leg to prevent this from happening again as it was very uncomfortable for a couple of days, this worried me as this has never happened before.

Thanks for any replies

Shahzad,

try look for a knee brace. it is like a elastic bandage that wraps around your knee. i find them really helpful in keeping the knee together. you should be able to find them in your local pharmacy or sports store.

A knee brace is a good idea, but if you're interested in a method that involves no gear around you knee, then I suggest leg extensions. I've been doing these for over a year along with squats. All my knee problems have pretty much disappeared and with my extra strong knees, I really don't have any fear of injuries unless I really push the envolope.

I agree with both kwun and don. I injured my knee a little while ago when i was playing football (soccer). Because the studs got stuck into the mud that was already uneven ground, my foot got stuck and when i turned i twisted my knee. We still won 1-0! YAY!!! But anyway, get the elastic knee support, its annoying sometimes when you play badminton but its for you own good.
