Yes that is a fake one http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/images/icons/icon13.gif. Based on the numbers alone already ...

The lettering of the "ISOMETRIC SLIM HEAD" decal is far too big, too.
The font not look right. Self explanitory.

1. The serial number looks way too low for the date of manufacture (Oct 15, 2009)
2. Both the serial number and cone code look stamped instead of lazer etched. Lazer etching gives a much neater and smaller number.
3. The price is 1/3 what they retail for.

I think he had a valid question. all you stated in the first reply was that it was fake with no explanation of why. Even if all you said was "I have a real one and it looks different" would have been sufficient.

The 4th and 5th picture show the most obvious that its a fake Yonex, really bad plastic string grommets there
Its a fake, sorry mate  Some decal wording are the wrong size, wrong font, doesnt look like the serial has been lazer etched and the SN looks to low.
A lot of these are sold on ebay with the pretence of being 'a clone made in the same factory' or a 'different grade'. No such thing, all a lie to sell fake junk that will not perform like the real racket.

just checked , seem like he is not there anymore , you go and have a check as well..if you cant find him there as well , then I think thats him. I know he only sell the top range of Yonex's racket, usually there are a few on sale at one time. On the product page , I remembered that they put that they would not do a collection service.
p.s. I dont like mentioning name because some might actually sell genuine products on e-bay for cheap
LD_ rule , so you know which e-bayer as well ?

it's his fault for ruining his feedback/name selling fake stuff you should tell so other people don't get tricked

he could easily start selling the rackets under a different name so disclosing his name would be pointless, other people should use common sense, your not going to get a rrp £170 racket for £28

He could change the name /address and have a new paypal account before we know it . so there is no point. One thing is to watch out on ebay is those strings that on the photograph .....but come on.if you think a deal is too good to be true then you should avoid .... Yonex does not sell racket to any of their authorize dealer at a stupid price , the price does not shift unless they have a end-of -line clearence where all the shop would be selling that racket at a discount price .....
p.s. if you see a brand new racket being sold at less than 60% of the original price (discounted selling price) , then there will be a good chance that the racket is a fake !!

totally agree with the above, for the eBay seller it's as east as a click of the button and a couple of taps on the keyboard for him to change his identity and fool more and more people. Another good thing to look for would be to see if the picture is taken from the Internet or if it is taken by a camera from the seller
Also look at the description given by the seller if he says
"this racket Is the CH version" and the seller is from the UK then it is mostclikely fake
If the description he/she gives is the same one on the yonex website or other authorized retailers then again it is most likely fake
Some legit sellers will state the rackets serial # and therefore show that they have nothing to hide
I would suggest however not to buy off eBay instead buy from an authorized shop/website or if you want to buy second hand buy from BC as sellers have to state serial # and usually show photos
One final tip pay using paypal or credit card cause if the racket is fake, then you can usually get your money back.
Hope this helps

i have just returned from my first training since i've got the racket and its really light, good at defense and control however very powerless, i asked my trainer to try it, he tried to bend it and it gave out a sound you hear when your crack wood XD he was really surprised coz he claimed that the strings used are carlton and cost some 20 euros.
yea sure id like to get the money back but who do i go to complain to? i imagine the seller would show me the middle finger so to who then? help appreciated

i personally know the person that owns/runs this shop i play badminton with him once or twice a week :p
iv tried a fair few of his rackets and they seem pretty good and as you've said he is upfront as to whether his good are clones 'fake' or authentic
he currently uses a clone 9900 as his main racket.

At least he doesn't try to mislead his customers by claiming they are real, instead he is upfront about the goods he is selling and you know what you are getting

Yep, the serial is too low for the manufacturing date. Funny, you don't see many JP coded fakes around. Even if the serial was closer to correct you can tell it was stamped, not lazer etched.

What it comes down to is there is no quality guarantee with fake rackets, can you get some that are good? No doubt. Can you be sure you got one of the good ones? No way.
