Hello all,
We have held a few tournaments in our community group over the past several years. A few of us are considering holding one open to everyone, but want the see if their would be enough interest first. Here are some details:
When: March/April 2003, over 2 or 3 days (i.e. 4 hour sessions)
Where: Bathurst/16 th area ... facility has 6 courts
Birds: Nylon
Format: Some sort of round robin, followed by elimination, not decided exactly
Cost: btwn $20 - $25
Events: Mens Doubles ... Advanced and Intermediate (Club Level)
Level: Well that's the hard part to explain, because there is no common standard to compare to, and an advanced at one club may be an intermediate at another.
First off this is for club level adult players 18+. When I say advanced, this means at a club level. The only thing I could compare with, is Ontario Championship levels.
Advanced would be players that are at a maximum of 'C' level and perhaps the upper 'D''s ... Intermediate would be the 'D' and lower. No A/B Ontario players, nor beginners, only because we want the teams to be of somewhat equal level.
We have about 20-30 players that would participate, and we are looking for an additional 20-30 to join.
I'm trying to guage what the interest level would be, before we even attempt to persue this. If you think that you MAY be interested in playing, pls email me. This is by no means a confirmation or entry, just that you would consider joining. If there is enough interest, I will email you with the exact details when they become avaiable.
Pls indicate your day/time preference, and any recomended formats, as well as any other suggestions in you email as well.
