Any suggestions as to where I can play in North York?? where in north york do you live? East side or west side? garfield_912 12-11-2002, 07:53 PM way east. like, literally at the edge, right by scarborough. crazyboy139 12-15-2002, 11:07 PM I always hear of Rosemount But I have no idea where it is, can anyone give me an address / time / $ to play there? Thx [Edit] Err sry I went through a couple more posts and found more info. TOmike 12-15-2002, 11:11 PM bathurst and westminster.. near the promenade mall i know saturday schedule is 4-7pm $2 for student $5 for adult 7-10:30pm is same price garfield_912 12-15-2002, 11:17 PM Rosemount is at the corner of Bathurst and New Westminster in Vaughan. There's a high school (Westmount Collegiate), a community centre/arena, and a theatre there. It's quite big. You should be able to find it =) The price is $2 for 18 or under...and $5 for 19+. The schedule is somewhat different for the holidays. I myself am not sure what it is.... They are open this Friday (the 20th), so I hear. Should be 7:00-10:30.. or 7:30-10:00. SOmething like that =) Anybody...correct me if I'm wrong please =P crazyboy139 12-15-2002, 11:37 PM wow.. $2.. thats much cheaper than the local ymca.. wouldn't it be.. VERY.. crowed for a high school, esp when its so cheap? I'm pretty much a first-time beginner, so I dun think this place is right for me, maybe a little privacy would be good with a couple other friends who can't play very well :p thx all btw crazyboy139 12-16-2002, 12:08 AM I hear theres a community center minutes away from Finch and Yonge Mitchell Field C.C. at 89 Church Avenue every saturday night theres badminton there, drop-in maybe? if someone lives pretty near there maybe u could get some info and share it with the rest of us? ;) TOmike 12-16-2002, 06:40 AM its not very crowded on saturdays.. there are two gyms. go to the beginner one.. if you're not that good, don't worry, there are lots of ppl not that good in the beginner area. i mean complete newbies. :P garfield_912 12-17-2002, 04:42 PM I hear theres a community center minutes away from Finch and Yonge Mitchell Field C.C. at 89 Church Avenue yep..there's also mitchell field. they have a session on tuesdays, i know for sure. however, i think they require signing-up for that. tuesday...4:45-6:15. you can drop in and ask questions. i've played there on tuesday before. it's run by the city. crazyboy139 12-17-2002, 06:26 PM interesting :p eagle84 02-10-2003, 07:36 PM There's also a badminton club at York Mills Collegiate at York Mills and Leslie. I've only been there once but its mostly adults but its fairly good competition. I'd say half are decent and half are just beginners. Overall, nice people but of course, you'll have the occasional jacka$$. They play every Monday and Wednesday from 6:30-9:45pm. $7 guest fee, 4 courts. Check it out sometime.
