I just got Black Knight M-2010 C4..
Which actually cost $218 but I got it 50% off so I got it for $109
Still I have feeling that Black Knight`s racquet has worse racquet than Yonex
(It is just my thoughts)..
SO badminton experts pleaz help this poor boy...
I wanted to know if this is a good racquet or not..
Thanks..,.

Well, according to BK's site, this is the best racquet you can get from them and it was suggested for advanced and provincial or national players. Being the best, I think it would be a stiff racquet that would generate alot of power as long as you had the power to utilize it. The rest I don't know as this model has pretty much laid low.
Whether or not BK is better than Yonex is entirely up to you. Everyone has their opinion. Not everyone's opinion states that Yonex is the #1 racquet manufacture.

yes it is entirely up to you. what you should not do is just simply toss it aside just because it is not yonex
you must love it and cherish it and not care about the appearance but how it plays..
in the end it boils down to if you are good enough.

a racquet isn't good because it is the "most expensive" or the "top of the line." The BK Aero Pro Ti was a good racquet because it did what it was supposed to do: generate powerful smashes with its flexible shaft and heavy head. The M-2010 C4 is a racquet with an identity crisis. It's both too flexible and too light. If it was heavier or stiffer it'd be much better. Since its so light, you're relying on the speed of the swing to generate power. The shaft is so flexible that I can actually feel the shaft bend when i'm swining hard.. which wastes much of the energy and power. I think it's supposed to be a defensive racquet but the designers wanted a flexible shaft to compensate for the lack of power... and ended up doing the opposite. I think BK's quality is very high... but their racquet design is hit and miss. You're better off picking a racquet that suits your playing style rather than just picking the most expensive one.

I just got two new Ashaway racquets TMP990 and TMP 600 just about an hour ago. I have no idea how they play, but they were also a great deal. I'm arranging my time as quickly as possible to test them out, and see how I like them. Real anxious to play with them.
Now, it's possible I might hate them, it's more likely I'll like one over the other. I don't know at this point in time, but will have a good idea by tomorrow when I hit with them. So the one I don't like, I'll probably sell it to someone who does. And that's how it goes...
And notice - not once did i even care whether my Ashaways are better or worse than any other manufacturer? Because that really doesn't matter. What matters is that you like the racquet - or not.

hahahah - sure. oh by the way, if you are going to attend the session, try to get there earlier. the last couple weeks were really full, and not sure if we had to turn any kids away, since registration takes place outside and not by us.

Here's your plan for next Saturday.
Show up early - 7:30AM to garantee your spot. Warm up with 5 LAPs around Guildford Center - not just the rec center - the entire mall - 105 - 152nd - 102 - 150th. DO NOT SHORT CUT THROUGH THE PARKING LOT!!
At 8:15AM go to the Chevron Gas Station - pull out a Toonie - purchase one LARGE COFFEE. One Sugar, One Cream (NO 2% milk - REAL CREAM). Put a lid on.
WALK (you can relax a bit) back to the gym (don't spill the coffee). When I finally get there, I'll have the coffee, Ben and Dave, we will open up the gym, and you can setup all the nets and posts.
Now - you will agree to that plan? Or I could have Ben make you work out... I'm a pussycat compared to him... I think he crippled poor TIMELESS last time he came to the practices.

Think it's a great Idea, however, if I run that 5 laps then I mite as well call it a day... isn't that lik... at least 1km/block!? it's HUGE there! I think I'll stick to Ben's work out... as long as it doesn't strain my knees!
btw... do u guys get both sides of that gym now? or still stuck with 4(or izit 5) courts?
and about that coffee... u know... coffee's REALLY bad for u!

Latte??? Capuccino??? HUH? Oh man.... I'm gonna have fun whipping this little BRL_Sucka into da grounds!!! COFFEE_GROUNDS! Latte and those are little kiddie drinks!
BRL_SUCKA! You do the same exercise and JCHEN99 - but you will do 10 laps around the mall.
JCHEN99 - yeah, roughly 1KM/block, so we only talking about 4x1 km x 5times = 20 km run... I did give you 45 minutes!!! Are you saying that's too much time for you? So i think I hear you asking for more running because of too much time?
You are going to be one tired little puppy next Saturday... Promise...

Wow, from what you described this racquet is pretty bad from BK for a top of the line model. The only series from BK which I really like and own is the BK Rapier 865. If you have the opportunity to try it out, give it a whirl.

Black Knight has a new line now, the 900 series. I have a 2006 and have found it to be quite a good racket, stiff, light and head-light. I recently bought the i960. It is a stiff racket (the website says rf=86 but it says rf=90 on the shaft) with the new turbo flex shaft. It is the same weight and length as the 2006 but is more balanced,I had it strung with bg68ti @ 23/25 and it gave more power than the 2006 with bg65 @ 23. Don't know if it's the strings or the racket, probably a combination of the two. Unfortunately last week I had a mishit and hit the bird on the frame and it broke. I have 4 bk rackets and have never broken one on a mishit, until now. Since I've only had this racket for about 3 weeks, I'm going to send it back and see if they will replace it. I had a rapier pro for almost a year and the frame cracked when it got restrung. They were nice enough to replace that one. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'd hate to spend $240 on a racket and only get to use it for a few weeks.

yeah the 2006 is a good racquet.. i really liked it and it was on factory strings too.

How much was the i960? Has anyone tried the 940 as well? The 920 seems to be an OK racquet which is pretty medium stiff.

Heh heh... kiddie drinks? Nahh... it's the adult version of Coca Cola. JChen, is he always this grumpy?? I bet he's been drinking the watered down coffee all week. Some latte ought to mellow him out :p ;)

he said $240 in his post. Not sure if the 50% off applies to the new models, but I think not.

Our club sells rackets to the members at a pretty good price. I paid cdn$195 (incl taxes) for the racket, unstrung. I bought bg68ti from Lee's for $20 and it cost me $15 for stringing. I guess that only comes to $230 (not 240, guess I'd better go back to school to learn how to add <G>). I believe the list price on that racket is about $250 + taxes.

If his description of the i960 is what you're looking for, I'd definitely consider it but before you buy it you should find a way to demo it whether it is in a store or your best bet would be to find someone and try it out.

I'm not a good player but I liked the racket. Had quite a bit of trouble with net shots but that might be the propulsion of the 68ti strings. I found clears are a bit farther and control seems good. I still don't like the fact that it broke with just one mishit. May be a manufacturing defect though. I don't mind if they replace it.
This is the information I got from their guy .....
The 960 is the one most clearly designed to
augment power:
- TurboFlex shaft design
- 68 cm length
- Premium materials optimized for the best transfer of power
- More weight then your 2006, but not heavy
Since you have been using a 68cm racquet, in theory you may experience a
loss of power if you shift down to a 67cm racquet such as the 940. Of
course, this depends on personal style - some players may offset the
lost centimetre with increased head speed.
Generally, I have seen the 940 chosen by players who already generate a
lot of power, but need to control that power, whereas the 960 seems to
be the choice of players looking for more power.
Graphite: In spite of the recent popularity of complementary materials
such as Titanium, Beryllium and BrainWeave, the type and quality of the
Graphite is the most important material factor in the features and
performance of higher range racquets. The nature and mix of the
graphite fibres will determine most of strength, torque, flex, weight,
vibration dampening and response. Graphite has outstanding stiffness to
weight, and strength to weight ratios and is the critical component of
performance racquet construction. In all cases, the graphite mix
determines the real benefits of the added materials. For example, the
limitations of CCG material would outweigh the benefits of adding Ti
mesh. Generally, the higher the graphite grade, the more is to be gained
by adding any of the various meshes.
Ranking of graphite materials:
#1 - XMG (eXtreme Modulus Graphite)
#2 - C4 (Carbon 4)
#3 - HMG (High Modulus Graphite)
#4 - ECG (Enhanced Carbon Graphite)
#5 - Base graphite
BrainWeave: Reacting to the shock of impact with shuttle or ball,
BrainWeave stiffens progressively and enhances the frames reaction and
recovery as it transfers energy to the projectile. Brainweave recovers
to its base state as the racquet completes it's flex cycle.
Beryllium: Stronger than Titanium, Beryllium/Graphite mesh is used
selectively in some in some high performance models. Key features:
lightness, stiffness, and dimensional stability.
Titanium: Titanium mesh is a lightweight addition that complements
graphite's qualities of vibration dampening and energy return.
Turbo Flex :Traditional badminton racquets have shafts with a
cylindrical cross section, where the degree of flex and location of the
maximum flex point are determined by the materials and construction of
the shaft. Some badminton shafts have been made with a flattened section
at the middle of the length of the shaft in order to increase the
flexibility.
The Turbo Flex racquets are made with 2 flattened sections of the shaft
to increase racquet flex at points calculated to enhance play.
The power stroke technique in badminton starts with a long movement
using the shoulder and full arm, and finishes by blocking everything
except the pronating wrist and the racquet. The goal is to put as much
speed as possible into the head of the racquet by shortening the axis of
rotation while maintaining angular momentum.
Creating a flex point near the handle aids the initial broad sweeping
stroke, while the flex point near the head acts as a pivot point during
the final axis shortening snap. The result - more head speed for more
power.

It's an OK racquet. My friend has it and it's medium stiff. I don't see anything different from this model compared to the BK 865 Rapier Be except for the price difference. Although it says balanced on the website, I find it a tad head heavy mainly because the racquet I used had the stock grip on it.

Yeah! It's an AMAZING racquet. I've been using it for a year now and it's performing extremely well. My bird placement and my control have improved quite a bit from using my other BK racquet. Unfortunetly, the material is very fragile because I cracked it from clashing into someone else's racquet twice. But if you be careful, the M-2010 won't let you down. My jump smashes have become more lethal than ever!!

Nothing on the website claims that any racquet is their "best racquet." Also, don't judge all of their racquets based on your opinion on just one of them. Black Knight has a huge variety of racquets, so just because you don't like the 2010 doesn't mean that BK is a lost cause, and you should only use Yonex. Personally, I prefer most of BK's racquets over anything that Yonex sells. No, I'm not a fan of the 2010 either, but don't base your opinion on the whole company based on one racquet that you didn't like.
