View Full Version : Ti Swing Power SR...
flipinese_azn 02-15-2003, 08:36 PM hmm i have recently bought this racket...for those of u who have a swing power...(preferably a SR) wut do u think about it?....i had a choice between the SS and this one....the SS seemed a little heavy kind of like my mp 77....i do not really like that...but i dont get that much power from my SR....well could u please give me ur feedback? thanx...jay
TOmike 02-15-2003, 09:24 PM SR= Flexible, its known more for control than power.
I use SR and I like it pretty much. It's a great all-around raqcuet. But in the end, nothing can compare to the Ti-10 which I do not own.....
I string my SR at 23lbs or 24lbs constantly and has still hold up strong with a lotta clashes.
In addition to my SR, I have modified one side of the shaft all black by scraping off all the stickers (the one that says name and stuff)....:D
Pics are available upon request...hehe
TOmike 02-15-2003, 09:53 PM DO POST :p
flipinese_azn 02-15-2003, 10:01 PM sorry and yes i know that the sr is more for control...its just one before the ss and sx series...i thought it'd be almost even and in between...they should make one...hmmm well thanx for all ur posts...even tho theres only two hahaha...
TOmike 02-15-2003, 11:08 PM hah.
well i think SS is more inbetween for the TISP series.. the control is quite nice as well as the power..
flipinese_azn 02-16-2003, 12:43 AM hi lol...hmm y would u scratch all of those off tho?....does it look better or something? i personally like the orange...
TOmike 02-16-2003, 12:56 AM i think he has the older version.. blue gray and black.. ?
interesting work Zero.. i think the paintjob on the TiSP is quite nice.. but it seems u've gotten it off without much work :p

:)
I did that once a long time ago with a cab20 except I scraped all the identification markings off. That was to make people wonder what racquet I was using.
Of course, I was much younger then:D
Yodums 02-16-2003, 07:07 AM Hey zero, what kind of strings do you use? That's pretty intense stringing up to as high as 24lbs for feather. I tried 22 which I can utilize so maybe I'll try 23 but I don't intend to use these high tensions with my current strings the BG66 since I don't wanna replace em every so often. I may just revert back to the BG65's since they're so cheap and durable.

TOmike: Yup, it's the old version of the TISP. The blue and black version.
Cheung: Well I would say I'm still young...hehe...;)
I'm only 17!!...
Yodums: When I had the luxury to string my racqets with BG66 and BG85, I had them strung to 23lbs(BG85) and 24lbs(BG66) because they were relatively thin strings. But after I strung the Alan and Susi Special at 23lbs, I broke the strings in less than 15 rallies. Since I was so mad, I just said I'm never going to string thin strings, so I got the BG70Pro at 24lbs instead. But now I have regretted of getting BG70Pro's because I just realized how much I love the sound and feel of thin strings. So the next string job I'm gonna getis BG66 since I can't afford BG85 now.
Yodums 02-16-2003, 02:05 PM Seems as if we're switching shoes. Today I broke my BG66's at 21lbs and I'm going to use the Ashaway Rally 22's since I heard alot of good things about them and they seem to give off a crazy amount of kick. I don't have the money to keep on replacing and using thin strings regardless of how good it feels (I tried out my backup racquet w/ BG 70 Pro @ 22lbs and it felt good as hell for some reason). I think for now I'm going to stick with the Ashaway Rallys if I like em or go back to Yonex's BG-65 or 70 Pro. Oh, and it was only 2 weeks since I had the 66's at 21lbs and I don't even consider myself as a power hitter hence the low tension on the 66's. I think if you're going to be stringing at 24lbs for the BG-66's it'll break within a week!

As I have stated previously, I have strung my racquet with BG66 and BG85 before at 23lbs and 24lbs and the normal life spam of those strings were around 1-2 months depending on how much I play. I play around 3-5 times a week depending on how much free time there is. I have strung with BG66 2 times and BG85 2 times...
Yodums: The only reason I can think of how you broke your BG66 are because you might have too many mishits(not hitting sweetspot). That was what happened to my Alan and Susi Special strings.;)

Most likely... Oh well I'll try out the Ashaway Rally 22's and I'll see how it goes. Chances are that'll be my primary strings unless it breaks too easily then I'll switch back to the 65's or 70 Pro.
stantan 02-17-2003, 12:15 AM I've had both the Iso Ti SR and SS.
The SR was made for clearing and the SS was made for driving (supposedly).
I found the SR was just a little to light on the power for me.....
