I was wondering if anyone has tried out the new CyberNatural strings and if anyone can tell me which one should I use if I'm partial to BG85? Thanks

View Full Version : Has anyone tried the CyberNaturals? stantan 02-27-2003, 01:21 AM I was wondering if anyone has tried out the new CyberNatural strings and if anyone can tell me which one should I use if I'm partial to BG85? Thanks Laurence 02-27-2003, 10:10 AM I have tried CBG100 for 3 months now . . . the string is actually extremely soft but very durable (0.70mm). I have it strung on my MP100 2u at 23-24 lbs and it plays better than BG80/85 - at least in control. Not as much power and bang as BG80 but still enough power. Excellent playability at the net. I have tried BG85 and BG80, actually using those before I switched to BG88ti and CBG100. I used to love BG80 because it was powerful / loud - excellent repulsion. However, I would have to re-string about every three months and it does not hold tension that well. I didn't find that I could not go back to BG80/85 after playing with CBG100 and BG88ti. Having said that, I like playing with BG88ti the best . . . good but not great power and excellent control. stantan 02-27-2003, 08:56 PM Thanks Lawrence. Just to make sure, the CBG 100 is the control string? Baddie 02-27-2003, 08:58 PM I recently strung my MP90 with the CBG100 at 24/23 (around 2 weeks ago). After playing a few games with it, the only thing i noticed is - not much power and no explosive "bang" sound :D , BUT great control though for drop shots. Maybe I need to break-in the string some more. I like the BG65Ti, BG80 and BG88Ti. Wizbit 03-07-2003, 10:01 PM Playing with a MP99 2U strung at 24 pounds using CBG100 it makes a great combination for singles or doubles in my opinion. What you gain in control you lose in power. Great if you can already smash effectively, now you can pin point where you want to smash. Clears are effortless and drop shots and slices are a beauty to watch. You must try this string if you can get it and you are a 'stroke' player You don't get as loud a bang as other strings but it gives a different, more 'composed' sound stantan 03-09-2003, 11:56 PM so the question remains - If my smash is weak do I get the power string then? kwun 03-10-2003, 05:37 AM Originally posted by stantan so the question remains - If my smash is weak do I get the power string then? no. if your smash is weak, you need to work on your technique. bigredlemon 03-10-2003, 01:05 PM Originally posted by kwun no. if your smash is weak, you need to work on your technique. Kwun's pinky technique shows how right that is. If one could generate strong clears using mostly a pinky, then brute force isn't the best answer to a weak stroke. stantan 03-11-2003, 03:53 AM err, whats a pinky technique? modious 03-11-2003, 04:21 AM Finger Power (http://www.badmintonforum.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6118&highlight=pinky) Finger Power Revisted (http://www.badmintonforum.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5506&highlight=pinky) Anyway, my opinion is that CBG100 is a soft string that's extremely durable. It's supposed to imitate/feel like playing with Natural Gut. You'll have to string very high tension if you want the string to feel tight (0.7mm!!)! I prefer the BG88Ti though. Refer to the reviews section to see what people (and I) thought about this string. Wizbit 03-15-2003, 11:41 AM I have to disagree with the string being durable. MyCBG100 has now broke on my MP99 after about 12 hours of use. |
