View Full Version : Stock up on Ti-10?

Hi all, I need your opinions on this. I have tried most of the rackets from yonex and currently using ti-10 exclusively. I know yonex is discontinuing Ti-10 and wants to know if I should stock up on it. I have broken 1 during a clash and just had it replaced. Now I am very careful when I play with someone new or have a record of clashing rackets. i have 2 ti-10s and will feel more comfortable if I have 1 or 2 more as backup. In the current yonex line, I think I can live with MP90 3U or MP100 2U. The latter one will need some time to adjust to but perform better than Mp90 for me. The question is do you think yonex will come out with something that will satisfy a ti-10 fan. I am worrying that if I found something better I will be stuck with 3 or 4 ti-10s.

Thanks in advance for your advices.

Ti10 is a good racquet. I'd say stock up on it, even 3 more pieces (for the rainy day;))

You can always think something better might come along but unless it has actually arrived, you might be waiting for a long time.

Ti10 is a tried and trusted raquet. MP100 - well you have to learn a new racquet again. MP99? - well saw lots it when it first appeared but gradually people here are not using it so often i.e. going back to their old, trusted former racquets.

I stock up on cab20's myself - only good ones though.:):):)

Personally I have 3 Ti-10s right now, but since 2 of them are CPs I dont think I'll actually go out and buy more unless they are cheap (and I mean cheap) I'm also looking for alternatives for the Ti-10 and hopefully, someday I'll get my hands on a few

BTW Cheung, how many of those CAB 20s do u hav stocked up now? :D

I doubt you are going to find it for cheap since they are discontinued so demand goes up..

Several people I talked to including a racket shop manager consider the Ti10 to the best Yonex racket currently available. How many rackets you want to stock up depends on where you are. If you are in Asia, the Ti10 costs less than the MP100 and MP99 and probably plays the same or better. If you can get a deal, get at least 2 since you like the Ti10. If I visit Asia this summer, I might try to get a Ti10 as I have never played with it, but the Ti10 is a good smashing racket. The Ti10 is available at a reasonable price (for a Yonex) and is very good.

I remember reading a thread by Eggroll that Yonex will come out with a new line and the new line is better. Whether that is hype or not remains to be seen.

Definately. Since I am settled with cab20, there's no need to change but I'd probably pick Ti10 as a 2nd choice.

G'day,

I'll recommend stocking up. Over here in Australia Ti-10 is pretty much all gone and in my opinion, the closest comparable racket to Ti-10 is IsoTiSP-SX. MP100 and MP90 may be almost as powerful and as good in control but it doesn't feel or play the same as Ti-10.

I actually bought a Ti-10SP for collection and I hardly ever use it. I have to say though it is one hell of a good singles racket especially when strung with BG80 at high tension. It is in mint condition and I am too scared to use it for doubles! ;)

Was the MP77 not intended to be a replacement for the Ti10? I skanked hit or two with one the other day and it felt OK. Not as good though, you have the right idea in stocking up. I am still looking for a viable alternative to the Ti10 myself. I hit with a couple of Inflight racquets at the weekend, I was impressed but once again, not as good. The Ti10 really is a legend of a racquet! A curse on Yonex for stopping it, and also for stopping the Iso800.

MP100 was the intended replacement for Ti-10
I think MP77 is just a "knock-off" for the MP100 without the Ti Mesh

I have 2 Ti-10's that I may consider trading for MP100's.

I think the Ti10's don't suit me anymore.

They are both 2U G4's (could be G5 too though...I'll have to check) CD versions
They are strung at about 26-27lbs with Victor string...what kind? I have no idea.
They have paint chips on the frame, no cracks.

I don't want to sell them, since I am still playing and need racquets...hence the trade.
Lemme know what you decide. I haven't posted this in the market place yet since I'd give you a chance to respond first (even though others will see this).

That is why I stocked up on 2 Ti-10s. I bought them in India for around US $ 90 each. Do you think that is a good price? They are Ti-10 SP Longs BTW.
