Do you have a racquet for your "off-days" when you don't play too well/feel tired/feel lazy/etc?
How much lower is the tension on this racquet compared to your main one (or are they the same?
I'm thinking of going with 4 pounds less than the main one and string it at at 20lb, but am worried that the power gain will be small while the control loss well be large. I've only tried 18lb with cheapie strings and my play didn't look too good (though to be fair i did really really suck back then.)
Oh yea, since this will double as my beater racquet, i don't plan on ever replacing the strings so I'll be leaning towards lower tension... the lowest tension that a racquet can be used well.
Did change my racket between 1st and 2nd set recently, due to feeling tired.
The backup racket (total different racket) was strung around 4-5 pounds lower.
This was in a singles match. It wasn't helping though. My plan was to gain some power with my smash and score some quick points. But being tired already, the big punch wasn't there and i kept playing the same 'soft' style as in the first set, rallies rallies rallies. Drops were not as sharp as in first set, so my play got worse.
Think i'm gonna stick with the higher strung racket next time.

Try lighter racket instead of loosened string

I use my more flexible racquet when I feel lazy which is a Yonex Ti-3.
