Well, if you are limited to Canadian Tires and on a VERY TIGHT budget, then I suggest you purchase their Carlton AirBlade 300. It's the one on for $39.99. It plays quite well for a beginner's racquet and is good value for the money.

Shuttlebus:

CanTire has low prices for badminton racquets, BUT for the stuff that they sell you, they are overcharging. If you really are on a tight budget, head over to sportmart. (see sportmart.ca for lcoations) They have better racquets in your prices range.

Here's some good buys:
Yonex Carbonex 8200: $50. Great racquet and not much more expensive.
Tec 8.5 Blue: $20. A budget racquet.

Try looking at SportChek. My friend got a Yonex Isometric Something VF, I think it was 97 for 40.00 half price from 80.00 since it is discontinued.
